Championship Results

Cardiff 3-1 Fulham
(Noone, Dikgacoi, Harris)

QPR 2-1 Cardiff

Blackburn 2-1 Cardiff

Cardiff 3-1 Wolves
(John, Gunnarsson, O.g. Ebanks-Landell)

Nottingham Forest 0-0 Cardiff

League Position

9th place with a positive goal difference. Could drop in to the relegation zone or go in to an automatic promotion spot, however, due to how early it is in the season.

League Cup Results

Crawley 0-3 Cardiff
(Dikgacoi, Noone, Harris)

Leeds 1-3 Cardiff
(Harris, Mason, Macheda)

Player of the Month
Having been considered a backup option at left-back last season, 20-year old Wales-capped defender Declan John is beginning to make a name for himself, consistently being a stand-out performer for the club. John already has 2 assists and a goal this season, but it is his all-round contribution to the team in defence and support that took him to second place in the Championship Young Player of the Month award.
In very close second comes pre-season performer Kadeem Harris who continued his impressive form, netting a fantastic 5 goals in 7 games. It's safe to say that Pecchia has brought out some talent in younger players that was perhaps previously under-appreciated.

Pecchia's Thoughts

"Not a bad first month. I am happy to win in my first game, and keep that win streak at home, but in this country it is so important to have your fans behind you so being away is a lot tougher. We need to work on out strategies of breaking down home teams. We are not having a problem with scoring, though, as people like Kadeem have shown. The cup result against Leeds is also very positive."
Good enough first month and hopefully you can get a good cup run going
Good start to the season mate, keep it up and improve and you'll be on to a flyer!

Championship Results

Cardiff 1-1 Huddersfield

Cardiff 2-3 Hull City
(Harris, Ecuélé Manga)

Rotherham 1-1 Cardiff

Cardiff 5-1 Charlton
(Pilkington, Ecuélé Manga, Macheda x3)

League Position

With 3 wins, 3 losses and 3 draws, Cardiff sit in a modest 11th. Despite their drop in position since last week, their goal difference of 5 is superior to every other time outside of the play-off spots.

League Cup Results

Cardiff 3-1 Wolves
(Saadi, Whittingham, Mason)

Player of the Month

Veteran Peter Whittingham was a key midfielder in this month's Championship campaign. The 31 year old, who was rumoured to be leaving the club in the summer, but ended up staying, has been essential in many of the goals scored in September, whilst also providing cover for the back four.
Federico Macheda also deserves a mention for his hat-trick against Charlton. His performance may set him a peg ahead of rivals Joe Mason and Idriss Saadi, who've been fighting for the number 9 role. Kenwyne Jones will soon enter the competition to be Cardiff's centre-forward, as he is returning from injury.

Pecchia's Thoughts

"It's been a very mixed month. I'd have been very critical had it not been for the Charlton result, which was a great lift. We really need to work on our defence. It's never been a matter of scoring goals for us, it's just that we've let too many in."
HUGE! win over Charlton but a poor month outside of that..
Decent month going for you there, but a bit to improve on which is always good for a football team :)
Not the best of months, but like Jack said a bit to improve on if you're really gonna push the club forward!
