Celtic Sign Sinclair

Celtic have finally agreed a deal for Aston Villa's Scott Sinclair, parting with £2.5 million for the 27 year old Englishman.

Brendan Rodgers and Roberto Di Matteo were thought to have been engaged in almost 2 weeks of negotiation for the winger, with Celtic getting their man on a 4 year contract. Rodgers had previously worked with Sinclair at Chelsea and Swansea, and said he was looking forward to managing him again.

Brendan Rodgers:
"I had him in at Chelsea when he was 16 years of age. I know him probably as well as anyone and I know his qualities. He'll bring some pace and flair to the team and it just adds to our great attacking power."

Sinclair is thought to have signed with Celtic with the allure of Champions League football, having failed to impress at that level with Manchester City. He will also hope that he can impress new England manager Roy Hodgson and make his international debut after being touted as one of the country's biggest prospects as a youngster.
quality signing mate, looking forward to this one!
Nice signing Feliks, hope he'll be good for ya ;)
Top signing on FM and in real life for Celtic, no doubt he will help you out a lot this season and in the future!
Scott Sinclair brings flair to the SPL.... the league really does need some exciting players! :P
Good luck, much better start to life at Celtic than Rodgers managed that's for sure
Scott Sinclair tore up the BPL when I played with Swansea way back, hopefully he can do the same for you this year!

Celtic Dealt Blow - Mulgrew To Miss 5 Months

http://img.thesun.co.uk/aidemitlum/archive/01717/CHARLIE-MULGREW-ma_1717782a.jpg

Celtic's Charlie Mulgrew has been ruled out of action for 5 months after tearing his crucial ligaments in his knee, the second time such calamity has occured in his career. The 30 year old versatile midfielder/defender is now reportedly considering retirement after this set-back.

Mulgrew has played 24 times for Scotland and over 120 times for Celtic, joining the Bhoys from Aberdeen in 2010 after leaving them as a youth reject in 2006. Mulgrew has played in several positions during his 6 years at the club, including centre back, left back, defensive midfielder and central midfielder, and his versatility will be sorely missed by new manager Brendan Rodgers.

The 30 year old sustained this same injury back in late December of 2013, missing 5 months, and in 2014 he missed 7 months with a hip injury. This new set back has reportedly detered Mulgrew, and it is thought he is now considering retirement.
real tough luck with Mulgrew mate, and 2.5mill for sinclair seems like a waste of money imo lol
For a club at Celtic's level Charlie Mulgrew will be a big loss!

West Bromwich Albion have announced the signing of Celtic's Norwegian midfielder Stefan Johansen.

The 25 year old has left for the Premier League for a £2.5 million fee after reportedly clashing personalities with new manager Brendan Rodgers. West Brom manager Tony Pulis was happy to welcome him to the club.

Tony Pulis:
"Stefan is a great pick-up. He had a great season in Scotland and is hard working and diligent. He's the kind of player who you can rely on week in, week out, and I think the fee was a good one."

Johansen has signed a 3 year contract with the Baggies and is excited to be making his Premier League debut.

Stefan Johansen:
"To move to a club like West Brom is a dream come true. A couple of years ago, I was playing in Norway but now I will be playing with and against some of the world's best. I'm in the prime of my life and raring to go."
Great stuff here Feliks!
Yeah I'm with Griffo on this, this story is coming along nicely!

FC Santa Coloma 0-6 Celtic FC

As expected, Celtic have comfortably progressed to the next stage of the Champions League, defeating Andorra's FC Santa Coloma 13-0 on aggregate after a 6-0 win at the minnow's home ground. A capacity crowd of 1037 watched Leigh Griffiths fire his second consecutive hat trick.

An injury to Mikael Lustig meant that Darnell Fisher had the opportunity to start for Celtic and the 21 year old pounced on his chance, firing low and hard into the bottom right corner and surprising his marker in the 13th minute. Kris Commons was fouled in the box in the 25th minute, and new signing Scott Sinclair converted the ensuing penalty, and just 3 minutes later, Santa Coloma's problems intensified as centre back Ildefons Lima was sent off for a malicious tackle on Celtic's Scott Brown.

Fisher played a part in the second goal, running down the right flank before squaring it to Leigh Griffiths on the edge of the box. Griffiths took a controlling touch before shooting, and watched his curled shot beat the outstretched hands of the opposing keeper as his side went 3-0 up. The next goal came from the other flank, through Luke Garbutt and Commons. A simple pass from the English left back put Commons at a seemingly improbable angle to score but the Scottish striker managed to squeeze it in nonetheless to give Celtic a 4-0 lead at half time.

Scott Sinclair scored a penalty on his Celtic debut

Despite having a man advantage, Celtic's attacking drive slowed down considerably in the second half. Griffiths still managed to deliver some excellence, rocketing home a volleyed shot straight from the corner. The in-form striker finished off his hat trick by scoring from the penalty spot in the 65th minute in what would be the last goal of the match despite FC Santa Coloma having a second player sent off in the 79th minute.

Brendan Rodgers Post Game

"Obviously there wasn't a lot of pressure on the players but they're a professional bunch so it's not surprising that they scored 6. I was very happy to see Scott score on debut as well, and Leigh is just in terrific form. We'll go into the next stage full of confidence."
