BREAKING NEWS!

Reports suggest that Roberto Mancini is set for a return to his former club Inter Milan, this news comes just days after club hero Frank de Boer joined Arsenal on a three-year deal. De Boer came 4th in his first season at Inter and then excelled in his second winning Serie A for the first time since 2009 when Mancini was in charge. He also won the Europa League and quite rightly Arsenal fans are excited about their appointment who stopped Juventus from winning a record 7th title in a row.
Juventus were in the driving seat until the event of Walter Mazzarri leaving as coach of the Italian national side, just a few days before Juventus were set to play Sassuolo in a deciding match Allegri left took take the reins of the national side. This has surprised many people to why he didn’t wait until the end of the campaign. He has been blamed for Juventus losing their title.

Roberto Mancini in line for a third spell as Inter coach and with just a year left on his contract at Olympiakos will they try and convince him to stay or will they let him go?
A third spell? Lets hope it goes better than his second!
We have reports suggesting that Olympiakos have tried to convince Roberto Mancini to stay by offering a new deal. He has 1 year left on his current deal and for weeks he has been linked with the vacant role at Inter. Also some reports coming out from Italy that Mancini has flown to Milan and will be announced as manager in the next few days.

Defiantly hoping to emulate his first :)
A late contender for the job?? A rival Even? :P

Breaking News!

Walter Mazzarri has been announced as the new manager of Inter Milan, he will sign on a three-year contract which will keep him at the club until 2020. No-one knows if the Mancini apparent interest with the job will cause him to lose his current one at Olympiakos but it’s looking like they aren’t too impressed.
More news on Roberto Mancini now as Leicester City have revealed that they have offered Roberto Mancini the job.

This comes after club legend Claudio Ranieri retired from football. Leicester famously won the Premier League in 2015/16 at odds of 5000-1 and Ranieri carried that momentum into the next season just missing out on going through in the group stages of the Champions League but getting to the Quarter Finals of the Europa League and finishing 6th in the Premier League. The season after they managed a fine run in the Europa League getting to the Semi-Finals where they faced Leverkusen losing 2-1 on aggregate. Sadly, this Europa League run affected their league form and they couldn’t manage to get into Europe again.
So for Mancini this could be a chance to light up the Premier League with a team who may not have all the talent and money but they have the desire to do well.
Mancini at leicester would be an interesting combo to say the least!

It would but he has been linked to so many jobs

August - January

At the half way stage of the season Olympiakos are on a 42 match unbeaten run domestically 43 points out of a possible 45 they look certain to retain their Super League title even though Mancini has been linked with a move somewhere virtually every week they still have done what they have needed to.

In the Greek Cup they went through the 2nd round Group stage more comfortable than last season 3/3 wins and a 3-1 advantage going into the second leg of 3rd round at Home against Iraklis.

In the Champions League drawn in a group alongside Barcelona was always going to be tricky but they would expect results against Celtic and Porto. An opening 1-1 home draw against Celtic set the tone for the next 5 matches Olympiakos would not have it their own way against any of the teams in this group. Next up was away to Porto a dominant and deserved victory for them 4-2. Next up was Barcelona and only 1 point out of the first 2 games didn’t make anyone consider an upset and there wasn’t Barca won 1-0 but dominated the whole game. 4th matchday was at Camp Nou which was expected to be Barcelona dominating again Olympiakos needed points quick but didn't show that in their performance as Barcelona won 2-0. So the next two matches for Olympiakos were must win if they wanted to progress and they needed Barcelona to help them out against Porto. Celtic Park was the next stop Olympiakos found their best football and won 1-0 but a surprise 2-0 for Porto against Barcelona meant they were knocked out alongside Celtic and Europa League was the next objective. So the final game was home against Porto who still had top spot to play for and they took the lead in the 12th minute. A second goal was imminent it was just a matter of when 25’ was when Andre Andre doubled Porto’s lead. Barca were beating Celtic but Olympiakos needed a point. Danielle Baselli would half the deficit on 83 mins but they couldn’t find another. Celtic got an equaliser against Barcelona anyway so it made no difference Porto would top the group on 12 points, Barcelona second with 11, Celtic go into the Europa League because of their 6 points 3rd place and Olympiakos bottom of the group with a disappointing 4 points just 1 win out of 5 games.
