FCA PRESENT THEIR NEW KITS

13 July 2016

___________________________________________

In the final game of last season against Hamburger SV, FC Augsburg showed off their new home shirt for the first time. The white shirt with red decorative stripes on the collar, shoulders and arms can be combined with white or red shorts and socks. FCA will be wearing a black and green away kit in the coming season, or can decide to run out in their neon-yellow third kit.

”We have not only managed to include the club’s colours of red, white and green into the new shirts, but we have also created a third option which will be very different to the kits of any of our opponents”, says Stefan Reuter, sporting director at FCA. ”We wore the neon-yellow shirt last year in our 2-1 home victory over Schalke. At the time it was very popular with the fans and the players. Therefore, we decided to add it to our collection.”

Whilst the home shirt is already available to buy, the other shirts will be released for sale on Friday, 22nd July in the FCA 1907 store, as well as in the Online Fanshop. The price of the shirts are the same as last season, 74.95 Euros for adult sizes and 54.95 Euros for Children.

HITZ: “WE WANT TO BUILD ON LAST SEASON’S PERFORMANCES”

19 July 2016

___________________________________________

Goalkeeper Marwin Hitz has returned from his holiday and was back on the training ground on Tuesday. The Switzerland international looked back on his experiences at the European Championship and ahead to the upcoming Bundesliga season.

Marwin, it’s great that you are back at training. Give us a quick taster of your European adventure. How did you rate the Switzerland team’s performance after having a few weeks to think about it?”
Hitz: ”I think that we can be happy with our performance overall. The atmosphere was very positive in the country as well because we were convincing from the first group match. I would rate our exit to Poland after losing the penalty shootout as unlucky, we were the better team and a lot more was possible for us. Only the result counts in the end though.”

You went on holiday afterwards…
”Yeah, I had three weeks off and I really needed them. It was a long and tiring season but I am happy to be back again and I’m ready to dive into our pre-season training.”

Some things have changed since you left. How was your first training session under the new coach?”
”True, some things have definitely changed. I have already noticed that Dirk Schuster has his own ideas about playing the game and training. Every coach is different though. We were in contact during the European Championship as he wished us the best of luck.”

What are your expectations for the upcoming season?”
”First and foremost, I would like for us to reach the aims we have set as a team. I think avoiding relegation is always a priority for Augsburg. I obviously hope that we will be able to secure safety earlier than we did last season this time round. I would personally like to build on my performances from last season and help the team as much as I can.”

Hitz is a top keeper, one of the best this season I'd say. Hopefully he can do something similar to what he's doing IRL for you.
Good luck in the job, Augsburg don't half have expensive kits though.

He's a brilliant keeper and we're gonna do well to keep hold of him in the long term I fear if we don't achieve some pretty good league finishes!

Thanks man, yeah they're just a tad overpriced!

KACAR SIGNS FOR FCA

19 July 2016

___________________________________________

FC Augsburg have signed Gojko Kacar from league rivals Hamburger SV. The 29 year old defensive midfielder, who can also play at centre back, has been signed on a free. The Serb has signed a two-year contract lasting until the 30th June 2018.

”Having played the last game of the 15/16 season for HSV in Augsburg, I didn’t expect to be returning this soon. But I am looking forward to a new challenge at FCA, who have developed fantastically over recent years. Now, I Would like to offer something to continue this development successfully,” said Kacar, after signing the contract.

”We’ve been able to sign an experienced player in Gojko Kacar, someone who is versatile and gives us various options,” said Stefan Reuter. Gojko Kacar will wear the number 20 for FCA and join the team for training on Thursday.

Every winning team needs a Serbian ;)
