A good looking side, should be good for promotion this year!

August 2017

I couldn't have asked for a much better start to my reign as Tranmere boss really. Six wins out of seven games in August was just how we wanted to start the season. The only thing I think we could improve on is our goals scored tally as we are only scoring 1 or two a game. I'm hoping that will improve as the side gels but I may have to look into being a little more attacking if we begin to struggle.

Injury Update

Injury wise we are looking very good. Ben Tollitt remains the only long term absentee and will begin training by the end of next month hopefully.

Official Awards

John Warrington wins Manager of the Month
Callum Gribbin 3rd in Player of the Month and 2nd in Young Player of the Month

Player of the Month

There could only really be one winner of this award. The stats speak for themselves. Callum has come in and has settled instantly and has been producing some stellar performances scoring goals and creating goals, also having the best pass completion and highest average rating.
Very strong start to the season, arguably playing a lot of the weaker sides in the league but you can only beat what's in front of you! Need to make sure you beat these type of teams too so it's given you a headstart, I'd say.
Can't complain at an unbeaten start to the campaign!

September 2017

Another fantastic month for us sees us up at the top of the National League table. It was a little disappointing to pick up two draws but the goals are really starting to come now, which is pleasing. The draw against Wrexham was doubly disappointing as it was one of our local derbies. Nevertheless, we're still performing well and James Norwood is really starting to find his feet which can only be good for us.

Injury Update

We've had good and bad news on the injury front. The good news is that winger Ben Tollitt is now fully fit and returned to first team action in the win away at Bromley. The bad news is that striker Gerry McDonagh picked up an injury in the same game. The Irishman will be out for up to 5 weeks with a damaged kneecap, which is a little bit annoying.

Official Awards

James Norwood wins Player of the Month
John Warrington 2nd in Manager of the Month

Player of the Month

Again, there was only one man I could give this to for the month of September. James Norwood's performances were so good, he was also named National League Player of the Month. The former Forest Green man scored eight goals in six appearances during September and is the top scorer in the National League.
To have only dropped 6 points so far is incredible!
1
Really happy with our start. It's continuing it now though

October 2017

We're still going strong, just hoping we can keep the positive run going. The only downside to this month was the Aldershot game, where apparently the players forgot to get off the coach! After a dressing down, they bounced back well against Hartlepool though. It was good to get an easy win in the FA Cup and the next round sees us travel to Bromley in a game we should really be winning.

Injury Update

Oh how sweet it is! For the first time since I took over as Tranmere boss, we have a fully fit squad of players. The most recent returnee is Gerry McDonagh, who could return in the FA Cup 1st round tie at Bromley.

Player of the Month

You ask any Tranmere fan if Ben Tollitt was our best player before his injury and I guarantee that 80% would agree with that statement. Ben has come back into the side and looks like he has never been away, scoring, assisting and scaring full backs up and down the league.
Two absolutely fantastic months in terms of just one loss over the entire course of the season so far. You've formed quite a gap at the top also, which is pretty uncommon in the National League (as seen irl!) so hopefully you'll be able to remain there until the end.
Not halfway through the season yet but it looks like you're going to be pushing for promotion!
Cheers fellas. It's great to already be building up a gap at the top, it just adds to my belief that we are way too good for this league

November 2017

The news early on in the month was some transfer activity at the club. Connor Jennings left the club to join Dagenham and Redbridge for a free, typical that he would end up scoring against us just 11 days later in the league game. We used the freed up wages to bring in Zak Vyner from Bristol City on loan and help bolster the defence. The 15th of the month brought some terrible news in my inbox with Callum Gribbin being ruled out for 3 months with a torn hamstring. The loanee has been an ever present in the side so far this season so I went out and signed a replacement. Joining us on a free is Whitehawk midfielder Michael Cain. After an enthralling cup tie away at Bromley, we've been drawn away to League One side Rotherham.

Injury Update

Not quite as good as last time but atleast it's only Callum Gribbin ruled out for now.

Official Awards

Gerry McDonagh wins Young Player of the Month, Zak Vyner is 2nd

Player of the Month

He won the Young Player of the Month award for the National League so it's only fitting that he wins our Player of the Month award. Gerry has had an excellent month and his goals since his return from injury have been vital and have helped keep us at the top of the National League.
Stop scoring so many goals! :P Cracking result against Macclesfield.
