Josh McEachran Leaves Brentford

Brentford midfielder Josh McEachran has left Griffin Park to join local rivals Fulham for a fee in the region of £1,500,000 on a two-year-deal.

The departure of the former Chelsea player marks the first this Summer from the Bees. It is believed that he was out of favour with new manager Dan Thomas, who told the player he would be 'surplus to requirements' according to reports.

Now 24, McEachran has yet to be capped at senior level for England but made 15 appearances at U21 level for the Three Lions. Touted to have a bright future with his former employers at Chelsea, he fell victim to the clubs tendency to not allow youth to flourish within the top flight.

McEachran joined Brentford in the January window in the 2014/15 season after spending the first half of the campaign out on loan at feeder club Vitesse in the Netherlands., where he made 19 appearances. Making 27 starts last campaign, he has struggled with fitness and with a huge competition for places within a talented Brentford squad, he has found himself unable to force a way back into the side over the likes of Ryan Woods.

Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic stated, 'I am absolutely delighted to bring in Josh. He has been unlucky with injuries in the past year or so, but it hasn't blinded me of his exceptional talents. He has such ability and I look forward to what he offers here at Fulham Football Club. Brentford have certainly made a mistake in letting him go.'

'We are hoping to improve this season and get the club back into the Premier League. Josh will be a huge part in doing this, I believe. There is no doubt that we have the squad to do this and adding further quality can only benefit us in our aims.'

Aaron: I hope so! I look forward to seeing how he develops, as he looks an exciting prospect in my view.

Blissett: 'Wrong Choice'

Club legend Gary Blissett has openly stated he believes that former club Brentford have made the 'wrong choice' in appointing new manager Dan Thomas.

The Englishman, who played for the club between 1987-1993 and made 233 appearances scoring 143 goals, has been a keen supporter of the club since hanging up his boots in 2001. Now 53, Blissett has taken a step back from football to enjoy his retirement and has made numerous visits to Griffin Park, speaking of his delight to see the club in the second tier.

However, he has spoken of his disappointment to the recent appointment of manager Dan Thomas, who will be taking on his first professional role as a manager after having led Lemvig Gymnastikforening to success in Denmark. 'I personally feel that it is the wrong appointment,' Blissett admitted. 'I feel like it's the cheap option and that the club has done this to save money, instead of going for a top manager.'

'The club has ambitions of making it into the Premier League, but I can't see this happening with such an inexperienced manager in the dugout. The Championship is a league that is growing massively, we've seen this with the signings made this window alone and it's a tough league to get out of. It's a step backwards, more than anything.'

He continued, 'I truly am baffled by the board for making this decision but I do hope it pays off. If it does, then I will have egg on my face for sure - but I will be very pleased to do so, as it means my former club will be having the time of their lives. I wish luck to Dan, I truly hope I am wrong; but I find this a very strange decision.'

Do you copy and paste it?
Or do you just remember it?
Is it not an absolute mission to install the two words into your post every time?
Why is Gazza being an absolute shithouse?
Is he jealous?

Swedish Midfielder Broberg Joins Bees

26-year-old midfielder Martin Broberg has completed a £400,000 move from Odds BK to Brentford on a two-year-deal.

Currently uncapped for his native country of Sweden, the right-midfielder left Sweden last season to join the Norwegian club after signing from Orebro SK. He impressed during his brief time at the club, making 13 appearances and scoring three goals as he helped Odds to a club best third-placed finish.

Broberg stated, 'It's an absolute delight to be able to sign for Brentford. My career continues to only improve and I'm enjoying every game and every kick of the ball at the moment. Norway was a unique experience for me and this new chapter of my journey will be the same - it's one I will certainly relish.'

'I never believed that I would achieve a move such as this, for me this is a real dream. I look forward to getting out onto the pitch and showing what I can do. With the World Cup just around the corner, it's also a time for me to make a name for myself and finally win that cap I have been dreaming of.'

Aaron: No I remember it, I just break it down into pieces so I do. :P And I suppose so, it's quite satisfying to read and type, won't lie. Gazza is just a plain idiot, he is nothing but jealous imo.

FC Kobenhavn winger Youssef Toutouh has completed a move to Championship side Brentford following a £120,000 departure from the Danish champions.

For a second there I thought you'd signed Vidal ;) 100% in pre season is always good but the hard work starts now and I'm looking forward to seeing you inevitably roll up the league!

Thomas: 'The Pressure Is On'

Brentford manager Dan Thomas is under no illusions that he and his side are under a lot of pressure heading into the 2017/18 Championship season, following the surprising appointment of the 22-year-old.

Brentford will begin their fourth season in the second tier following promotion from League One in 2014, kicking off away to newly promoted Sheffield United at Brammall Lane. Warrington-born boss Thomas stated that he knows a win is 'neccessary' ahead of the clash. 'We need to get our season off on the right foot,' he said.

'I have a lot of critics to answer for. I have to answer those with three points on Saturday. The pressure is on, really. We have prepared brilliantly, our pre-season has gone according to plan and we have played some terrific clubs and played them off the pitch. We have to transition that intensity, step it up a little and we are in a great position.'

When questioned about any fitness issues heading into the game, Thomas replied, 'The squad are looking to be in great conditions. Touch wood we will go into the game with no concerns as at the moment things are looking good. There have been a few knocks over the past few weeks, but we've nursed these and everybody is 100%.'

He also took the opportunity to praise the squad ahead of the season opener. 'They are a very professional bunch. We have assembled a very good squad that are keen and ready to get going. Nobody complains and there is a lot of fight to show what they can do, everybody wants to be on that pitch come Saturday; it's a managers dream,' he concluded.

Justice: Class name isn't it.

Aaron: I wish we had signed Vidal. It gives us a confidence boost going into the season, so hopefully we can use it to good effect.
Hopefully mate! The season will be underway very soon and I wish you the best start possible :)

Midtjylland Youngster Joins Brentford

Brentford have completed the signature of FC Midtjylland youngster Alexander Munksgaard on a free transfer.

The 19-year-old Dane joins the London-based side having completed a medical this morning. Brentford and Midtjylland have a link between the two clubs that allow for players to join the respective youth academies to develop, however this is usually more acted on by the Danish side.

Munksgaard is a talented right-back who has been touted highly by many. He made four appearances for his previous side, who he joined in 2015 and also enjoyed a brief loan spell out with fellow Danish side Lyngby BK last season - who he helped to win promotion to the Danish top flight.

Also capped at Danish youth level, currently continuing to add to his 9 caps for the Danish U19 side, Munksgaard is expected to be one to watch in the future. It is believed that he will be loaned back out to his native country for the season in order to help his development, according to reports.
