Huge win against Atletico to end the month, after a draw to open it. This unbeaten run is fantastic and if the draws can be kept to a minimum, even better.
Strolling through the league, you'll have the title wrapped up by the end of January at this rate! :)
ScottT - Yeah we need to see out results, or edge 1-0 wins in those tight games. Even after an unbeaten start to the season we're still just the 2 points ahead of Atlético Madrid.

Justice - Fingers crossed; especially with how we've been playing. Just need Atlético Madrid to start dropping some more points; matching us pretty much stride for stride so far.
January Update:

"Barcelona simply gr-eight!"
Barcelona's remarkable form continued through the month of January; winning 8 games out of a possible 8 amassing 16 goals in the process. 5 of the games that they were involved in, were various stages of the Spanish Cup; in which they currently take a 2-0 aggregate lead away to Real Sociedad in the semi-final second leg. Barcelona manager Miguel Rodríguez had this to say on his teams current form...

Miguel Rodríguez - Barcelona Manager Its going better than I could have ever predicted. To not only be top of the league come the end of January; but also to still be unbeaten in all competitions is truly a remarkable achievement. We can't get ahead of ourselves though; Atlético have pushed us close so far, and there's still only a 2 point gap between them and us; so one loss from us could change the complexion completely. We need to remain focused, and hopefully come the end of the season, it will be us who come out as champions.

Player of the Month:
Luis Suárez

Yes its that man again; Mr. Luis Suárez. The strikers lethal form continues, as he hit 5 goals in 6 games. There were other notable performances from several players in what has been our strongest month in terms of results so far; the likes of Dembélé, Coutinho, Rakitić, and Lenglet all had an exceptional month as well, but without Suárez's goals, we wouldn't be in the position that we currently find ourselves in.

02/01/19 Spanish Cup 5th Round Leg 1 Rayo Vallecano 1 - 2 Barcelona
Raúl de Tomás (31) Arturo Vidal (pen 41), Lionel Messi (90+1)

Transfer Window Closed!

Jim White - Sky Sports News The January transfer window has now closed! As always, there is the potentially for deals still to be completed as long as they have submitted all of the relevant paperwork before the 23:00 deadline. If there are any deals that do filter through, we will inform you as, and when we know. For now though, lets quickly round up the biggest deals of the window...

30 year old Serbian defender Neven Subotić left one French club for another; moving from AS Saint-Étienne to Olympique de Marseille for a reported fee of £15m

Former Spurs midfielder Lewis Holtby; remember him? left Hamburger SV to join Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for £9.75m.

Finally; Moldovan defender Alexandru Epureanu left İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. to join Galatasaray S.K. for an initial fee of £9.5m potentially rising to £11.75m.

Spanish club Barcelona made no new additions this window, and let no first team players leave. Manager Miguel Rodríguez seemingly happy with the current crop of players that he has at his disposal, and why wouldn't he be with the way that they've started life under him. Unbeaten in all competitions come the end of January is some achievement, even for a club like Barcelona! We're going to take a short break, but when we're back, we'll bring you up to speed with all that has happened over the course of the window.
He's right! To go unbeaten is a remarkable achievement, even for a club with standards like Barcelona.
Additions are clearly not necessary after the start under you. Hopefully this unbeaten run can continue!
ScottT - 38 games unbeaten is an insane accomplishment; Atlético are still hot on our heels though.

TheLFCFan - I think its going to be more about getting players out of the books; making a loss of around £20m most months due to the ridiculous high wage bill. Then it'll be about bringing some of the top u19/B team players into the first team to develop them more.

Will update this as soon as fmshots is back up and running; currently at the end of April
February Update:

Unbeaten run comes to an end...

After 38 games unbeaten; Barcelona's unbeaten campaign finally came to an end at the hands of Valencia. A resounding 4-2 away loss at the Mestalla Stadium, put an end to a run, that up to that point, included a winning streak of 18 games. It was a game in which Valencia really put the sword into this Barcelona side, creating chance after chance, and Barcelona just couldn't get a grip of the game. As Barcelona pushed late on to try and find an answer to Valencia's free flowing attack, they were hit not once, but twice on the counter attack with goals coming in the 85th, and 89th minute. Barcelona manager Miguel Rodríguez had this to say following his teams first defeat of the season...

Miguel Rodríguez - Barcelona Manager "Its never nice to lose, but to lose in the way we did, makes this a bitter pill to swallow. It was always going to be a huge ask to carry that unbeaten form right the way through the season. When you lose, you try and pick out the positives from the result, look for things to work on and say what we did well, and what we could have done better. However, with this result, I saw no positives. It was a terrible performance. Everything that we've worked on, on the training ground day after day, week after week, is to instill a philosophy, and an identity to how we play. Today, the players seemed to have amnesia, they forgot all of there coaching. To say that I am disappointed with this result is an understatement. We have to pick ourselves up, and try to win the next game now, because Atlético will surely capitalize on our mistake today."

Player of the Month:
Lionel Messi

Messi has finally turned up to the party. After a sub-par season so far, the clubs greatest ever player finally hit form in February. Scoring 4 goals in 5 games. The Argentine forward picked up two man of the match awards, as well as creating 15 key chances, in 5 games.

February Results and Goal Scorers:

02/02/19 La Liga SD Huesca 0 - 3 Barcelona
Juan Miranda (13), Luis Suárez (66,70)

06/02/19 Spanish Cup Semi Final Leg 2 Real Sociedad 0 - 2 Barcelona
Philippe Coutinho (36), Lionel Messi (52)

09/02/19 La Liga Getafe CF 0 - 2 Barcelona
Arthur (pen 20), Luis Suárez (56)

12/02/19 Champions League First Knockout Round Leg 1 Tottenham 0 - 2 Barcelona
Luis Suárez (71), Lionel Messi (88)

18/02/19 La Liga Barcelona 3 - 0 Real Betis
Marc Bartra own goal (6), Malcom (74), Abel Ruiz (90) Javi García sent off (58)

23/02/19 La Liga Valencia CF 4 - 2 Barcelona
Ezequiel Garay (20), Daniel Parejo (60), Kevin Gameiro (85), Geoffrey Kondogbia (89), Lionel Messi (52), Luis Suárez (70)

27/02/19 La Liga Celta de Vigo 0 - 3 Barcelona
Lionel Messi (pen 25), Luis Suárez (73), Malcom (83)
You really don't expect the words sub-par to be used to describe Messi, who is a once in a lifetime player when it comes to his quality and consistency. It's a shame to read that you surrendered your unbeaten run in such circumstances, but you remain on-course to achieve great things, given your league form and in-roads in both the cup and Champions League. Congratulations on making it to the cup final and hopefully you'll continue your run in Europe by ensuring you keep your lead in-tact against Spurs.
A shame that the unbeaten run has finally come to an end, but nonetheless it was a remarkable run. Positives to see Messi is starting to turn it on for you, when he’s at half his best he does some special things so if he’s hitting form we may be seeing a new run coming very soon!
ScottT - I know yeah, the best player the world has ever seen in my opinion. His season average rating thus far is 7.21 but his performances have only just started to pick up. He has had a couple of injuries though so didn't really get a continuous run where he could hit form, but now that he has, I wouldn't be surprised if he finished top scorer. We're still on to do the treble as it stands, got Atlético in the cup final which will be an extremely difficult game given how they're playing, but fingers crossed.

TheLFCFan - Well, we had to give the other teams a chance I suppose didn't we. He was brilliant in February, creating 15 chances in 5 games is good going; hopefully he can continue like this until the end of the season.
March Update:

Barcelona increase their lead at the top

Ricardo Pruna - FCB TV presenter Hello and welcome to FCB TV. Today we shall quickly update how the season is going for our club. First off; Atlético have finally shown signs of cracking. So far this season they have pushed league leaders Barcelona all the way, however, they are starting to drift away. Inconsistent form during both February and Mach, has seen Atlético fall 12 points adrift of top spot. The two teams do meet each other at the end of next month, and if Atlético lose; well then surely that's curtains on their title challenge this season. As for Barcelona; they won every league game during March; the only negative result during the month, was the 1-0 home loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the champions league. None the less; we have progressed through to the quarter finals, where we face..... Atlético Madrid. These two teams just can't keep away from each other when it comes to big games this season. They face each other 3 times in the month of April, and I'm sure, all 3 games shall be full of quality, drama, and controversy. That's it from us for today. Catch up with us next time, where we shall look at the B teams performances in the Segunda División B3; where they, like the first team, occupy top spot.

Player of the Month:
Ivan Rakitić

Another solid month all round, not only in terms of results, but also in terms of individual performances. Messi was sensational again; Abel Ruiz chipped in with a couple of goals, and both Arthur and Sergi Roberto impressed also. The award however; goes to Croatian playmaker, Ivan Rakitić. Scoring 3 goals in 5 games, averaging a match rating of 7.56 and a man of the match performance in the 2-0 home win against Real Madrid see's him take this months player of the month award.

March Results and Goal Scorers:

03/03/19 La Liga Barcelona 2 - 1 SD Eibar
Ivan Rakitić (2) Abel Ruiz (54) Fabián Orellana (31)

06/03/19 Champions League First Knockout Round Leg 2 Barcelona 0 - 1 Tottenham
Christian Eriksen (14)

10/03/19 La Liga Barcelona 2 - 0 Real Madrid
Lionel Messi (pen 23), Ivan Rakitić (47)

13/03/19 La Liga Rayo Vallecano 0 - 1 Barcelona
Lionel Messi (48)

17/03/19 La Liga Sevilla FC 0 - 2 Barcelona
Ousmane Dembélé (67), Lionel Messi (73) Jordi Alba sent off (90+1)

31/03/19 La Liga Barcelona 2 - 0 Athletic Bilbao
Sergi Roberto (59), Ivan Rakitić (68)
A great month there, victory after victory... ideal. Despite the loss against Spurs, you managed to see them off over the two-legs, which is good enough. Atletico will be a tricky side to overcome, but you've demonstrated your ability to beat them, having done so earlier on this season. Best of luck!
Another successful season and despite the one loss you manage to go through on aggregate. Good stuff mate won’t be long before the trophies arrive!
