Quite the formidable victory to book your place in the last sixteen. Benfica can have no complaints.
Wow weird that they only qualified for the next round for the thirth time, I remember them since I was little in the Group stages. Good luck at the last sixteen!
Great to see you getting through the group ensuring that you'll have Champions League football after Christmas
Matching the 1972 qualities from CSKA! Great stuff.
Your progress in Europe is great to see! Resounding wins against København and Benfica, though the fact that Origi can score against you is a bit of a concern ;) Hopefully you get a favourable draw for the next round! Also, glad to see Igor is getting his badges, and that a role should be forthcoming <3
Very good run in the CL, long may it continue! Maybe you can emulate the run Ajax had in 18/19 (except, maybe don't lose in the 95th minute against Spurs ;) ) where they also knocked out Benfica in the group stage!
Hopefully the draw will be good for you and won't put you against top team, also really important match against Zenit.

Congrats for reaching the knockouts, but it was never a doubt.

Good prediction Griffo, impressed!
great run in the UCL, with a little bit of luck you can upset some giants

Maksim Smirnov - As stated on our Social media channels Novembers monthly review was delayed to include our final game of the season against Chelsea. A month (and a bit) that has seen us once again go unbeaten in all competitions. We also have confirmation on our Champions League Round of Sixteen opponent.

Vadik Vassily - The month got off to the best possible start as we dismantled FC København, 4-0. Two from Fedor Chalov, whilst Magomed-Shapi Suleimanov and Lucas Santos both scored one apiece, was enough for the victory. It meant we needed just a single point in the remaining two games to qualify for the knockout rounds.

Maksim Smirnov - Yet another Matko Miljevic masterclass this season, was enough to give us the win over Krylya Sovetov. Nobody was expecting a scoreline anywhere close to the 7-4 thriller we had to kick off the season, but with Fedor Chalov scoring six minutes in, a few may have been forgiven for thinking another classic was coming. It didn’t quite turn out that way, with Matko scoring on the half an hour mark, giving us the two goal victory.

Vadik Vassily - That was worryingly, just the second time in the season we have had back to back clean sheets. We did make it a third in a row, for the first time this year, against Yenisey Krasnoyarsk. The five goal scoreline was probably kind on them, as we went three goals up inside ten minutes. Magomed-Shapi Suleimanov scored his second of the month just a minute into the match, before Talles Magno, who is coming into his own in recent months and Fedor Chalov made it three. Magno then secured his first club and career hat-trick with a further two goals in the second half scoring a penalty in the sixty-second minute.

Maksim Smirnov - You are right when you say Magno is coming into his own. He had massive shoes to fill when Arnór Sigurðsson left and he struggled early doors. But since he opened his club tally against København in October, he has seemingly become a new player. Six goals and two assists in his last ten is a great return for a player still acclimatising to the country.

Vadik Vassily - He is and he was a part of the first CSKA team’s in a decade to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. A 3-1 victory over Benfica clinched the place and in all honesty we truly deserved the victory. Magomed-Shapi Suleimanov once again opened the scoring before Fedor Chalov and Zlatan Sehovic ensured we would be in the draw for the knockout rounds.

Maksim Smirnov - A historic victory for this club and one that won’t be forgotten in a hurry as it secures us progression for just the third time in our Champions League history. We followed that win with another emphatic victory. 3-0 against Luke’s most personal rivals, Zenit St. Petersburg. It was a cagy affair early on, up until Wílmar Barrios was sent off for Zenit. Ivan Oblyakov took advantage of the extra man in midfield as he had space to run into before striking the ball from the edge of the area to give us the lead going into half time. Having scored a minute before the halftime break, Mário Fernandes then scored a minute after the break. Shaping up for a cross, Mário saw space between keeper and front post and struck a lovely shot that Kritsyuk could do nothing about. The game was then put to bed with Matko Miljevic striking a penalty, taking his tally to nine league goals in the season.

Vadik Vassily - That win put us eight points clear at the top of the table, ahead of Zenit who remain in second. Behind them the lead is looking almost unassailable at this stage with three teams sitting on thirty-five points, and we have a game in hand. A gap of thirteen on the rest of the chasing pack is an extraordinary one, especially for a team that has dropped just eleven points since the beginning of last season.

Maksim Smirnov - We certainly are in a good position but it doesn’t look like this team is going to begin sitting back as we went to Chelsea and showed the quality we possess. We played a Chelsea side who had lost just once in their last twenty games in all competitions and managed to take a point away from the game. We arguably rode our luck at times, with Chelsea having the majority of possession and plenty more shots on goal, however, we came the closest to scoring, hitting the post twice. It didn’t matter and we can be very proud of our performances in this year's group stages.

Vadik Vassily - We can be proud and qualification from the group has allowed us to progress into the next round where we will face Juventus. Former star man, Nikola Vlasic will return to play against us in the Round of Sixteen match up, where Juve will be strong favourites. An attack of Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suárez may be ageing, however, it is still a potent one and we will have our work cut out if we are to progress once again.

Maksim Smirnov - It’s a tough draw but whoever we played would have been a tough game as this is the competition for the best clubs in Europe. Our main advantage over Juve is that of our youth. With a much younger squad we should be looking to tire them out before hitting them late in the game. One man who will be key in that is Zlatan Sehovic, who is this month's Player of the Month. The Serbian left back has been vital to the team this month, helping the defense to concede just a single goal, whilst going forward he has added two goals and an assist .

Vadik Vassily - He’s a real talent, and plays as though he has much more experience than he does. Himself and Mário Fernandes play very important roles in this squad, creating overlaps going forward whilst being key in the defensive game. This month Zlatan is very deserving of the award and at just twenty-one, he could turn into one of the top left backs in Europe.

Maksim Smirnov - Well now we have a long break of two months before we head into the Round of Sixteen clash against Juventus. We do however, have a number of friendly matches that have been announced to see us regain match fitness after the Christmas break. We begin the return with a trip to Greece, for a warmer climate to begin preparations. There we will start off with a game against NPS Spartis before facing second division side AO Trikala. We then return home to face two second division sides in Russia, Lokomotiv-Kazanka Moscow and Veles. We end the set of games against Rosich Moskovskiy who play in the third tier of Russian football.

Vadik Vassily - Look, they are not games we should struggle with and in fact we should be scoring quite a few goals in those games. But they are there to return to match fitness and I assume Luke will be using them more as training sessions to ensure his team are back to their best. It won’t be a tough test but it’ll be vital as we go into the second half of the season.

Maksim Smirnov - It will be, but now we say goodbye as we take our winter holiday. We wish you all the best, thank you for watching.

Scott:An excellent victory that showed our quality! Very pleasing.
Jack:Yep they have been in the groups a number of times, just not been in the knockout stages too many times!
tedbro:A massive achievement for us. Time to prove we are in it for a reason!
Jack:Not sure what you mean? Football began in 1992??
James:Not too sure Juve was a favorable one but any side was going to be tough in this round. We will certainly give it our best shot!
Zed:That would be incredible! Glad to have reached this round to be honest. Anything after is a bonus!
OneMoreGame:Well, the draw wasn't the best but as I've said, pretty much everyone would have been a tough one. The Zenit game was brilliant and we are now looking good going into next year.
Griffo:Very Impressed!
Tango:We will need that luck I fear, thank you!
Another great results in the league this month topped off with a big win over Zenit which you have t be very proud of. Also a very respectable result against Chelsea in the final game of the Champions League as well
Making it look easy domestically and in Europe! Now out of action so it's time to make sure that your team come back from this long break with the same fire in their bellies.
Doing brilliantly on all fronts LFC!
Agree with the above! Things are looking very impressive both in Europe and on the domestic front. Juventus will be a tough challenge but as mentioned every game is tough at this stage of the competition. A more youthful and spirited Moscow side will use that to their benefit.
Some fantastic results in November and December, CSKA can definitely head into the break full of confidence! With the way Matko and Zlatan are performing, it's only a matter of time before the big boys circle around to take them off your hands :( Keep up the good work mate, can't wait to see the next update :D
