So close! It was great to see the results improve drastically and Hasebe was a terrific signing, but unfortunately he retired. Hopefully you can have a stronger campaign in Serie C and go straight back up, hopefully holding on to your best players ;)

SEASON 4 | BACK TO SERIE C

So we are back here again. Although I was gutted to be relegated I have a lot to be optimistic about this season. We are favorites to win Serie C. We have made some great signings! And we have turned the club finances right around.

TRANSFERS OUT

We sold our hero Martinelli. He wanted to leave, and a decent bid came in, so it's goodbye to the man who was amazing for us our first two years. But we have a good replacement coming in!

Mendola also wanted to leave so we cashed in on him. Good profit for a player we signed for free! I am still yet to spend any money on players this save yet. We have only got players on loan or on free transfers.

Lindkvist also handed in a transfer request so off he went. Again, good profit on a player we signed for free just a season earlier.

TRANSFERS IN

Barilla came in for free, I am trying to build a more experienced squad with leadership around the young players. He won't get a lot of game time but we need the experience in the team.

Marletti came in for free also, he looks like a promising young centre back.

Schiro came in for free too. He looks like a classy player who will slot in nicely following Martinelli's departure.

Schone signed for free! I was excited about this signing. The former Ajax man will not only provider leadership and experience, but he has quality too! He can play almost every attacking position, and will be dangerous from set-pieces this seaosn.

Orlando came in on loan from Inter. He is our best defender this season, and even though he is 18 will likely be an important player alongside Lancini and Merlitti this season.

Roudaut signed on loan also, the talented midfielder will certainly add more talent to the squad.

Lastly, Gutierrez also came in on loan for the season. A quality striker suited to Serie A, should bang the goals in for us in Serie C alongside Balastro.

A look at all our transfers this pre-season. I think we have done really well to bring in as much money as we did! Without the squad losing much quality.

Unfortunately in pre-season Balastro picked up an injury that will put him out for 3 months. He is quickly becoming a club legend and I hope he recovers well and continues to score, like he has done every season.

A look at the promotion odds, we are one of the favourites and I am looking forward to a far more positive season!

The club finances are looking good. Although we don't have a huge transfer budget, the squad is looking good and the overall balance is very healthy.

Results wise we had a decent pre-season and I am rearing to go!

This season we should be favourite's on most games. We have a really good squad and managed to hold on to Lucera and Crivello at least until next transfer window. This season we will use a 4-3-3 DM against teams who play a back 4, and use a 3-5-2 against teams who play a back 3. We will play a high line and press high up the pitch hoping to dominate possession and score lots of goals. This season our young players will have another year to gain experience and we will look to prepare for another attempt at promotion and competing in Serie B again once more. We have to bear in mind also that we have a 1 year contract so a good season is not only expected, but needed.

FIRST GAME OF SEASON 4

Our first game of the season was away from home. We set up with our 4-3-3 tactic. With a lot of new players making their debut.

29 seconds into the game on his debut, Gutierrez scores!

And we got our first win. A solid 3-0 win and surely setting the tone for a successful season! P.S. I forgot to mention last season that Maldini's loan was for 2 years. He didn't feature much in our last season, but this season should be an important player for us on the left side when we play with this tacitc.

As always, thanks for reading!
Some good transfer fees and some good replacements as well. It's always hard to find that balance between youth and experience when trying to survive in the bigger leagues but good luck for this season
SEASON 4 | WE ARE AIMING HIGH

This season I expected to gain promotion straight back to Serie B. I am trying to build a squad that will be ready to compete in Serie B. A big part of that is adding experience and leadership.

Over the four season we have done really well with Palermo, although we got relegated there were a lot of positives in the second half of that season.

The board rewarded me for everything I have done for the club. Not long into our 4th season and the board offered me a new 2 year contract!

The beginning of December, and we had been playing well but struggling to score goals. Balastro keep's picking up injuries, and Guttierez is always away on International duty.

So I decided to bring in a couple of exprienced players to help mentor hopefully provide some goals for the remainder of the season.
Quagliarella came in, a proven goal scorer in Italy and a great leader!

Mario Gomez also came in, the big German could be a useful impact sub.

Our results were good but could have been better. Too many draws for my liking but we are still yet to lose a league game!

Top of the league, without a loss, surely we will get promoted again to Serie B come the end of seaosn 4.

A look at our squad now and the three attributes I have chosen to highlight: Work Rate, Leadership and Determination.
As I sign players now I am looking at these three attributes and building a more resolute determined team ready to fight next season.

Overall I am quite happy with how the season is going. Maybe some new players will come in January, I will look at expiring contracts for next season also.

Lucera is on the way out of the club... he want's to leave so I am going to cash in on him. That will also free up wages for more experienced players to come in.
Some incredible experience coming in, with the likes of former Dutch international and Ajax star Lasse Schone, former German international and Bayern star once upon a time Mario Gomez, and a veteran striker who's played two decades in Italy, Fabio Quagliarella. Those sort of players will help immensely with mentoring the youngsters in your squad. And impressive form overall. Alot of draws, but hopefully you can score a bit more consistently
SEASON 4 | BACK TO SERIE B?

After a succesful first half of the season, we were in a good position to win the league and gain promotion back to Serie B. So I began to plan for my return. I have added some experience to the squad, although Schone, Quagliarela and Gomez are all retiring at the end of the season, so I will be looking to bring in some more experienced players, as well as better quality loan's to strengthen our squad.

I decided to loan another goalkeeper from AC Milan. Plizzari has been good, but this young guy Urso looks even better. I picked him up on a 2 year loan deal, and will rotate him and Plizzari until the end of the season. Might even look at bringing Plizzari back for a 3rd stint at the club if Milan will let me have him next season.

I was hoping for an unbeaten season, but honestly we weren't playing all that convincing all season, and a loss was inevitable. Our first loss was a wake up call, and a terrible defeat.

That was our first loss in 23 games! Not a bad run..

Schone has been a quality player for us this season as he plays his last year in professional football. He picked up an injury that ruled him out for 4-6 weeks and we didn't have anyone near as good as him to bring into the midfield. So a few youngsters got some more game time.

Gutierrez has been decent for us this season. The Uruguayan was our top scorer throughout the season, so I decided to extend his loan early so he will be with us again next season. Planning ahead.

One of the games of the season was against Saleritana. 2-0 down at half-time we came back to win 3-2! Balastro with a late late winner. Our golden boy has had a poor season, and I am beginning to consider maybe he isn't the man to take us all the way to Serie A. Maybe we need to bring in a better striker. But he has been decent, he has over 100 apps for the club at just 20! He could be a real hero and icon of the club if he can perform more consistently.

We received our youth intake. Again just one player stood out to me.

Miele looks like a decent young prospect, and will get a chance in the first team, as any good young player will at Palermo under my management.

As expected we won the league, with 4 games to spare. We actually lost the game that won us the league....but it is good we achieved what was expected and will get another chance of competing in Serie B next season.

With 1 game still to play, we set the Serie C record for most points in a season!

Before our last league game we have the Serie C Super Cup Final. We played well but lost on penalties. A terrible miss from our young centre back D'Emanuele cost us the game.

So the season is over and as the champions of Serie C, our players picked up some records.

Schone was the man this season! I wish he was still playing for one more year... He got the most assists in the league and set the record for the highest average rating.

Schone also won Serie C Player of the Year! He will be missed next season, and I will be looking for more experienced players with quality like Schone to help us next season.

Gutierrez was 3rd top scorer in the league. I am hoping he can score a similar amount of goals for us in Serie B!

The Serie C Team of the Year featured 6 Palermo players:

BEST PERFORMERS

Lasse Schone
Our best player this season. 18 assists and 3 goals, he was a perfect DM. I wanted to sign him on as a coach, but he wanted the Head of Youth role, which he has terrible stats for, so he will leave the club at the end of his contract. He will always be remembered as a Palermo legend for his 1 season of brilliance.

Juan Manuel Gutierrez
The Uruguayan was our top goalscorer and would score some important goals for us in our winning season. He should be good enough again next season in Serie B. I am hoping he can really kick on and continue his goal scoring form next year.

Lorenzo Sabatini
Our right wing back was surprisingly good this season. 6 goals and 5 assists from a player with bang average stats is a decent return. I am looking to continue to play our 3-5-2 formation in Serie B next season. So he will be an important piece of the puzzle next season, unless we can find a better replacement in the market.

Dissapointing...
Livio Balastro
Like I mentioned previously, he struggled this year. Just 6 goals in 26 games, is not good enough. What should we do? Continue to show faith, and help him develop by playing him next season. Or look to bring in some better strikers and see Balastro drop to the bench?

Mario Gomez & Fabio Quagliarela.
These 2 were awful. I hope they helped my young players improve and made an impact in the dressing room.
Between them they scored 0 goals in 20 appearances.
Not what I was hoping for and luckily they didn't cost the club much money. They will not be missed as they leave at the end of the season and end their playing careers.

End of Season Awards:

Our results were not as impressive in the second half of the season. Although we won the league so I cannot complain too much.

There we have it. Serie C champions for the 2nd time in 3 seasons. Hopefully I never have to play in this league again! We smashed it this season, and with the right signings surely can stay afloat in Serie B next season.

Next season the board are expecting us to finish mid table in Serie B! So the pressure is on again. I am looking forward to the next transfer window as we will be targeting some quality signings, hopefully this time we get it right!

As always, thanks for reading!

Eoin97 - I thought they were good signings. Schone was unreal. But I enjoyed having some bigger names in the squad. Even if they didn't perform well. Will be looking to bring in more players of the same like next season.

well done on getting promotion back to as Serie B, I’m sure you can pick up some strong free transfers to bolster the squad. Loan signings will be key to staying up and finishing mid table. Hopefully you can replace Schone, he will be missed.
I finished second in Serie B and have just played my first game in Serie A away to Napoli losing 1-0.

Transfer window was hard due to relying on loads, I was given 6m and 90k wage to play with. I sold Ayew for 1.6m and Accardi for 1.2m , I managed to extend loan of Faes who has been with me 3 seasons now, Brescanni and Capanni both stayed on Loan to keep the poster ship intact. I have changed formation for new season and dropped one the three in middle to defensive mid. I signed Colido for 800k and loaned Tedic from Man City. I signed Milosevic Swedish international centre back for 2.5mil he will be key to this season, and another Swedish international Walhqvist at right back from Hoffenbeim. Lucera played very well towards end of season and is still highly rated so he keeps his place and have loaned Maldini from Ac to play left wing. I signed Thuram from Nice defensive midfielder who I am very excited about.

Enjoying your save and look forward to next update
What a season! Congrats bro ;)

Jason22 - Funny how we are making some similar signings, thanks again for sharing your story mate it is interesting comparing another Palermo save. Wish I was in Serie A already! What year are you in? I have had a little break, was Palermo'd out lol, but will be back with another update sometime this weekend I'm sure.

Eoin97- Thanks mate! Hoping we can crack on with another good year in Serie B, unlike last time!

This is a great save to follow, absolutely loving it, keep up the good work!

A nice way to bounce back. Hopefully you won’t need to bounce back again!

Justice & Griffo - Thanks guys! I am sure I won't go down again :P
SEASON 5 | PRE SEASON

We are back! Back in Serie B! Surely this time I won't get relegated again, if I do I am sure that will be the end.

As always I bought in quite a few new faces.

Transfers In

Colido came in for free. Another chance at the club, he didn't do so well in his first stint but I couldn't say no when I saw his contract expiring.

Palomba came in for free, another promising defender added to the squad.

Ex - Palermo star Javier Pastore returns! He is getting older but I was delighted to bring him back, and hoping he can still play a part in our squad this season!

Corti came in on loan from Inter to strengthen our back line. He will be our starting right wing back this season and looks like a great talent.

Pirola also came in on loan from Inter, they have given us a lot of players over the 5 seasons!

Colombo came in on loan from AC Milan and look's like a quality striker! Him and Gutierrez together could be a great partnership! On paper at least they both look amazing.

And with Schone retiring I needed another DM to come in and Donsah is the man for the job. He also came in for free and looks to be a solid player who will be important for us this season.

I decided to try and clear some 'deadwood' and managed to move on a few players from the club because our squad was too big.

The board expectation this season is to avoid the relegation battle. I am definitely aiming to achieve this and hopefully push on from there.

Our pre-season results were okay, we had a few injuries and tried out different players, but I think I now have my best XI for this season.

The bookies predict us to finish 12th, I expect that as a minimum!

A look at my strongest team for this season. I am quite happy with how the team looks, especially the front 2! I hope this team can really perform well consistently this season.

Thanks for reading!
Some good signings, for sure. The squad looks strong enough to battle for a good position in the table, and will certainly be boosted by the capture of a player as reputable as Pastore.

I am on my fourth season now. Have started well in Serie A sitting tenth after 10 games. I loaned Bounga from St.Etienne he has been my best player by a mile going forward. Strikers aren’t scoring so relying on the wide men at moment, will prob sell Ighalo who is wanted by a few teams in MLS.

Good luck with your season, Pastore a nice signing hopefully he can give you that nice balance of age.
