A French Journey - Le Havre AC

September



Well the first game of the month went pretty much as expected as PSG came out and just showed that they meant business and totally destroyed us. The only positive out of the game came in our last minute goal which say Geubbels open his account for the club. They game against Lyon was a lot better and Meddah opened the scoring for us in the 18th minute and we looked really good value for the win going into the 90th minute but Lyon just went up a gear and Benedetti scored in the 91st minute before Elmas scored with the final kick of the ball to see Lyon grab the win from under our nose.

Against Dijon and Stade Rennais we manage to get a bit of confidence back into the squad with 2 good draws to see us at least get 2 points out of the 12 on offer this month.

Got to love the nice short months when you don't have a lot of internationals to be able to work on things in training and more importantly give key players a well earned rest.

The first match of the month we come up against Stade Brestois 29 and it looks like we were heading for a draw until the trusty Ismael Diaz cuts in off the left wing to get the only goal of the game. 8 minutes later though Vallejo is sent off and he'll be a big miss in defence in the next game. Lille I was expecting to batter us but how wrong I was. Yes they took the lead twice and we had to pull it back but our never die attitude from last season is still going as Fontaine pops up outside the box in the first minute of injury time to get the winner and our biggest win of the season so far.

In the final game of the month the players were over confident and it cost them here as Strasbourg score 3 goals between the 50th and 67th minute. We grab a consolation late on but sadly its too little to late.

Transfers In

We are glad to announce that on 1st January we will have Matias Arezo joining the club. He is another young striker destined for the top and we will look to get the best out of him here along side Gnonto and Geubbels.

The month gets off with a good point to get us underway. We then have a big trip to Montpellier who are struggling this season and boy do we take advantage of them. Ersoy scores a brace before half time to set us on our way nicely. Alex Blanco then puts in his best performance for the club since joining with a great 2nd half hat-trick to blow them away.

We then welcome Marseille and while we're on our high from the last game we manage to put in an excellent defensive performance as Bese pops up on the edge of the box just after half time to score a rare goal to get us a massive win. We round off the month with another big win where Blanco was the standout performer again scoring an excellent brace.
