** Season 5 update!

After our survival in the Championship. We regroup over the summer and begin to go again.
We go through any ins and outs and check on how we are getting on in the Betfred Cup.
There was also a BIG transfer, find out what happened..

Can we survive another season in the Championship?

I saw the Aiden Quinn signing and thought he looked familiar until you reminded us he had been here before. I like the Mannion pick up as he could be a good keeper for you. Stewart could be good at Striker because he is fast and has a good first touch (plus heading)--important things at this level. The Glenn Hancock signing could be a great one as he looks like a class midfield orchestrator.

Bummer you missed out on the Betfred Cup but hopefully you are able to get a good run in the Scottish Cup to make up for that.

And definitely congratulations on the record-setting sale! Was that for more than the value of the club? And how much of that were you able to retain?

Yeah it's tough bringing in players that can help us take that next step but the likes of Mannion and Stewart are doing that as well as Quinn being a solid back when needed.

Luckily there are 3 cups to go for in Scotland and as annoying as not getting out the group stages was and we probably could have had we not had to win on penalties we have two more chances of getting money from big game cup games lol

Yeah the Harrison was more to try and keep the club going which it did for around a couple of months. We got very little of it for transfers, probably less than £100k of it! Due to the limited finances we were running on!
** Season 5 update

See how our first half of the season has gone. Can we survive again?
We have brought in some possibly familiar names.
Is there a chance of a good cup run finally?

Well done to be top at this stage and a chance at silverware! I saw the November results followed by December and had a good feeling things could be going well. When Wheeler went down I was nervous but Folarini has really stepped in and taken his chances well. I am disappointed about Ennis as I thought he would be one of the best signings you had ever made--pacy with decent finishing. Crazy that he is underperforming so much that you have to bring in Bamford (whose stats are worse than I remember). Mannion appears to be doing well in goal for you so I have high hopes for the second half of the season. Good luck, FM Gamer!

Cheers pal.

Next update will be out tomorrow where we end the season..

** End of season 5 update!

We are in to the second half of the season. Our aim is survival, can achieve that or go one better?
Did we manage to get far in any of the cups?
There was also a transfer for BIG money!

Wow! FM Gamer, I enjoy immensely this thread and am (virtually) cheering you on. This is a great story, write-up, and thread. And your inclusion of photos is the cherry on top.

I am glad Hancock stepped up--he looked like he could pull the strings in the midfield and he did! He and Layton were big helps to your side in your quest for safety (and possible silverware). And the new record signing--I laughed out loud on you getting that amount of money for that player. Well played, you!

How did Mannion do in goal? It seems like your season went better with him in net but you don't hear anything about a Keeper unless they are shite so maybe no news is good news?

What are your plans for the squad for next season? You mentioned you saw some areas of concern--where are you looking to strengthen and will you be spending actual money from back-to-back record sales?

Haha cheers pal

Yeah I was surprised we could get as much as we did. But for a club of this size every penny counts! lol

Mannion has been very good. Probably the best I have had although he has made a couple of mistakes but what keeper doesn't.

We need to improve the quality of the team first if we have any chance of staying up. I felt we lacked depth in the wide positions as injuries showed at time. Also if we can improve the defence to a decent standard. Just improve the team in general to be honest!
Part 1 of a double blog weekend. Part 2 is out tomorrow!

Season 6 update

We go over what happened during the summer.
Have a look at any new faces that may have arrived at Raydale Park.
Also see what has happened in the group stage of the Betfred Cup.
Fight for survival is on!

Congratulations on the signings--some of them seem class. Baldock could give Mannion a run for his money in goal and your midfield is much stronger--you can have multiple options for a formation or position change. Your wingbacks could use improving and you did it. I am not sure how deep some Cup runs will go but you should be able to stay in the top flight this season (and hopefully get more than 10k in sponsorship).

How many season tickets did you sell this time?
Part 2 of our weekend double blog posts!

We begin our sixth season with Gretna.
More new faces?
Being in a new league our aim is survival! Can we beat expectations and survive!?
Can we causes any upsets against the 'big' teams?

Season 6

Take a quick look at the new kits Gretna have got.
We come to the end of our first season in the Premiership.
Business in January?
Can we survive at the first attempt in the clubs history?
Can we win another cup?

Do we do the unthinkable or do we drop like a stone? Find out here - https://tinyurl.com/yyubp4w9
The new kits look AMAZING! I haven't finished the rest of the write up--I stopped so I could post this. Really sharp images--they are awesome!

That is disappointing about losing Jamie Watson possibly for the season; he looked like he would be your right back for quite some time. And that is unfortunate about Barrie McKay--I really thought he would be good based on his stats. I am looking forward to the incoming/outgoing write up with screenshots so I can oooh and aaah over the players.

Congratulations on successfully avoiding the drop--well done! Funny how Rangers won the League but their manager wasn't even listed in the top 3 for Players' Manager of the Year. :D
