You didn't exaggerate: A LOT of new faces coming into the squad. They all seem a step up and some could do very well for you for years to come. (Hopefully) playing in Europe and the domestic cups will stretch your squad out so the depth you have will be helpful.

And good to see Aidan Quinn leaving again...

Gamer, well done on the write up and righting the ship after the worst opening month I have seen. The support you get, particularly on the away games (10!), cracks me up almost as much as your non-domestic sales. Although that might be part of the reason you are once again in financial duress. I hope you are able to get out of it and don't follow the path of the original Gretna.

Looking forward to the second half of season 7!

Wow, good job turning the season around! That's unfortunate there was another year without silverware but finishing how and where you did after the opening month you had is darned impressive! I'm looking forward to how well your off-season goes with recruitment--hopefully there is a cup run next season!

Second update of the weekend!

We kick off the first half of our eighth season in charge of Gretna.

Potential silverware in Europe?
But can we still beat the drop?

Kind of a reverse from last year--the abysmal beginning and claw back up the standings vs. a strong start and then fade. You are in Europe, which is great, especially for your finances. Being pegged as a mid-table squad you are meeting expectations but against all (financial) odds you are succeeding and building a top level squad.

I don't know if the attendance figures will ever really increase--I am Forfar Athletic in 2040 and we have won the Champs League more than once but we still only get ~4,500 season tickets at our 38,000 seat stadium. It really is a long slog to get the team on equal financial grounds with anyone else (and keep them there).

Good luck on the back half of the season. I am looking forward to how things go in Europe and the Cups!
Season 8 comes to an end as we look for another year in Europe with Gretna!
We are also looking for a run in the Scottish Cup and we find out who we face in the next in Europe!

Season 9

We regroup and go again after a 'poor' season last season.
We take a look at pre season
It has been an interesting summer as we see a familiar face return
2 Big money sales!

Wow, those were some incredibly big sales! I think one of the two (!!) massive sales was more than the all your previous player sales combined. I am feeling much better about your club now that you have more money in the bank.

It was a bummer to see Will Mannion leave (on a free!) as I thought he would be your GK for this save. And Hancock going for under 100k is surprising as well, but the other sales made up for that.

It's good that Porteous is back again although it is only on loan. Maybe there is a more permanent transfer involved as he is one of your better players and should continue to develop well.

Hopefully this is the year you bring more silverware back to Gretna--I thought the League Cup could do it after that impressive qualifying but drawn against Hibs in the first match? Tough blow (but doable).

Good luck this next season and I hope you can get the 65-70 points!
