Beating Bayern is epic! .. but my god look at Ajax, they are going to be so hard to stop

October

While riding on a high from the Bayern result we welcomed Feyenoord who are a point a head of us in the league so we needed a result. They were ahead at half time meaning we really went through the lads at half time and a 2 goals in 2 minutes was the difference thanks to Perez and van Grinkel. We then got a good result against Ajax as both teams were defensively sound. We weren't able to beat Olympiakos away from home but a point is good away from home. Buitink put us ahead twice but we weren't able to hold on.

Back to the national games and we grind out a tough result against Emmen with Buitink finally getting back on the score sheet in the league again with the end goal coming from Sergio Gomez. The big talking point of the month though comes in the first round of the cup. We rotate the squad a bit here and Tom Cohen is given his first start for the club and he goes ad bags himself a hat-trick. He can go on to great things it seems from the early signs.the other goals came from Perez, Gilmour and Bella-Kotchap.

ScottT Jack Griffo I still can't believe I beat them and it will surely go down in the club history
Justice Yeah European football will help the finances and club stature grow for future seasons. Got to remember its a marathon to get to the top and not a sprint
Some good results in there but you're still slightly off the pace of the top two!
Could have done with beating Olympiakos but a point away in Greece isn't a tragedy.

November

We have a nice mix this month between League matches and Champions League. We start off against league rivals AZ who we dominate and go in at half time 4-0 up thanks to Unuvar, Schiappacasse and Buitink. We then welcome Olympiakos where Gilmour and Buitink give us the 3 points to give us a chance of getting in the top 2. Perez and Gomez get us the goals in the 2nd half against FC Groningen to keep our chase going on Ajax. Against FC Twente Unuvar gets the only goal of the game in the final minute of the first half.

We welcome Atletico in the Champions League and they just blow us away as we have no answer to us. It means we will need a win in our final game to progress in the Champions League but we are guarenteed 3rd so we will still be in Europe after Christmas. In the final game of the month against Zwolleit takes a final minute winner from Gomez to secure the 3 points.

Buitink is really struggling so far this season but seems to save his performances for the big games which is always handy.

Jack Ajax are going to be tough to catch again but we'll wait and see what happens
ScottT We beat them at home so thats the main thing as we're still in the running. Just need to beat Bayern at home.
That league form has been relentless! Well in a title chase that could go the distance! Ajax have been great but their unbeaten right might just end by 20th December ;)
Very impressive this month. Ajax look to be very strong again this season so if you are to somehow topple them, form like this may have to be constant!
Fantastic to see you still in with a shout in the UCL and Europe itself even if it's in the form of the Europa League! Superb league form has also seen you very much in with a shot at the league come the end of the season, great stuff!

December

We have a good month and get off to a winning start against Feyenoord when Bella-Kotchap and Cohen get the goals. Against Bayern we were so close to getting a draw but Bella-Kotchap scores a horrendous own goal in the 92nd minute to hand Bayern the 3 points. You wouldn't of wanted to come up against us in the next game as we had a point to prove and NAC Breda were unfortunate it was them as Alvaraz and Majer both got a brace with Buitink, van Ginkel and Urzi getting in on the action as well.

In the cup we were able to rotate the team a bit to give people a run out and we had 5 different scorers as Hajek got a brace with Unuvar, Gilmour and Alvarez getting the rest. Against Ajax we made sure they weren't able to increase their lead at the top as we managed to hold them to a respectable goalless draw. Against Fortuna Sittard Cohen took his chance again as he had us 2-0 up after just 4 minutes with Urzi adding another 2 before half time.

League

Champions League

We can be very proud of this table given if we'd won our final game then we would of gone through instead of Bayern thanks to the head to heads but we drop down into the Europa League instead where we have been drawn against Dortmund.

January

New Signing

With our world class youth facilities at the club we needed to bring somebody in who can take our intake to the next level so welcome our new Head of Youth Development Bryan Klug

Youth

It looks like we could have our self another couple of decent players coming through that might be able to follow Cohen into the first team.

Justice Sadly we weren't able to end their run but we are still hot on their heels.

ScottT They are going to be tough to catch until we can get the squad to be able to break them down

Jack Not sure if we'll stay in Europe after our next game as we have been unlucky in drawing Dortmund.
Another good month of football. A point against Ajax but there's still work to be done to topple them as you say. No disgrace in dropping into the Europa League.
Those head to head matches against Ajax really are huge each time you play, still within striking distance though!
Still within touching distance of Ajax and you did well in that CL group. Dortmund will prove to be incredibly tough in the EL but that's football, I guess.

January

We come back after the winter break raring to go and we face FC Emmen in the cup and we put out a strong team for this one and Alvarez, Buitink, Unuvar and Schiappacasse get us the 4 goals to see us progress to the Quarter Finals. We follow that up with a big game against PSV where Buitink got both goals either side of a goal from Gakpo for a big win. Buitink seems to have found his scoring boots again as he bags another brace against Go Ahead Eagles to get us off to a good start before Unucar, Majer and Bella-Kotchap add to the total as well. The match against FC Groningen was our hardest of the month as we struggled to a 1-0 victory thanks to a goal from Alvarez.

League

Thanks to Feyenoord beating Ajax we have now closed the gap to 1 point s we have them firmly in our sights.

February

Transfers Out

There are no big surprises here as we sell off a number of players from the B team along with Tomas Hajek who has fallen down the pecking order this season so we are happy to cash in on him while we get a decent fee for him.

Transfers In

We have been scouring the transfer market to bring in bargains that will improve our squad and let us sell them for a profit when we secure better players. Arezo is a player we had agreed a deal with during the summer. Aleana was transfer listed by Barcelona and with Gilmour's loan ending in the summer then we needed somebody to come in to step up and replace him. The rest of the players that have come in are young and our scouts have done an excellent job in finding them. 3 of them we are hoping will e come first team players and I will introduce you to them below.

Jorge Nunez is a LB from Paraguay who will provide back up to Lato with the view of taking over in a year or two.

Diego Velazquez is an exciting keeper from Argentina who already looks like he can be our first team keeper and will be given chances over the rest of the season with the aim of being No.1 next season

Bryan Ayovi as young Ecuadorian CB who already has 2 international caps who will hopefully get the training required to turn him into a world class player.

ScottT Griffo Justice We have finally closed the gap and who knows how important this will be going forward.
The league is really getting close now which is brilliant to see. Some nice signings in there as well with a lot of potential for the players to either become important first team members or sold on for a large fee.
Excellent performance in the league! Nice to see some money being thrown around by yourself as well. Alena is a great signing.
