Knap tactics hit and miss

Hi,
Knaps tactics are fantastic I think we'll all agree. However I have swapped Gothenburg (where Bad Company worked brilliantly) to Lazio using a Beowulf 4231 or black echo 4231 as these are supposedly more underdog tactics. However, finding mt team struggling to score and making some real howlers. Not expecting to win every game. Does it take time for new team to get used to new managers tactics?

Yes, there's a blooding in period, same as in real life. Expect at least half a season of "meh" results.

What if I like a tactic but my star striker is best as a poacher than AF, even if he's ok as an AF, or my defenders are far more CD than BPD etc? Keep the duty same - ie support or attack etc.

And how does it go changing a mentality to Balanced rather than Attacking when you're clear underdogs away against the top side?!

It takes time, but Lazio is not a underdog team!

It's one of the more freescoring teams on the game.

Use kashmir p111 MU or fire and water p103.

It can still work, don't always look at the roles to much. Look at the attributes! Some players will just add their strenghts to the role.

Keep the duty and train them.

You can change it to cautious, but i would rather use slower passing/higher tempo and maybe lower DL line one notch..

It can still work, don't always look at the roles to much. Look at the attributes! Some players will just add their strenghts to the role.

Keep the duty and train them.

You can change it to cautious, but i would rather use slower passing/higher tempo and maybe lower DL line one notch..

BPD's are very specific, they will take risks and look for 'ambitious' passes. But this is the nature of Knapp's tactics, to be aggressive and overwhelm the opposition. Personally I hate BPD's, they're there to defend in my opinion. You can change them of course but understand it goes against the nature of the rest of the tactic.

The AF & Poacher is less important in my opinion. The AF will work the channels more than the Poacher who will tend to sit on a CB's shoulder more.

If you change the mentality you are again going against the theory of Knap's tactics. I would say a better thing to do as an underdog is to tone down some individual players base instructions rather than the overall team mentality. If you have full backs on attack for example, put them on support or maybe even defensive for this game. They will still be attacking in their decisions when they have the ball but position wise they will sit more defensively.

I appreciate Lazio wouldn't normally be considered am under dog. But in 2029 on my save they had just finished 12th. So used Beowulf, then finished 3rd following season. Will try those tactics you suggested

In every Knap 4231 tactic the AML and AMR is set as wingers. Is it even possible to use IW or IF in this system and make them perform like when they are set as wingers? I want them to score and assist as much as possible.

Do anyone have som tips for personal instructions to my AML and AMR when I set them as IW in a 4231 system?

I prefer a 4-2-3-1, any good knap tactics for top teams using this formation?
