HISTORY:
The Union Sportive du Littoral de Dunkerque is a football club which is currently playing in the "National" championship (division 3). Founded in 1909 and more commonly known as "USLD", the Dunkirk club played in the second division between 1966 and 1996, holding the record for consecutive seasons played at this level.
In 1996, the USLD was relegated to National and the following year to CFA. It was in 2013 that the team touched the Grail, finishing at the head of group A of CFA with 103 points. The USLD, under the orders of Fabien Mercadal, will even be named champion of France of CFA at the end of a season which marks the return of the club in National after 16 years of waiting.
This 2018-2019 season is therefore the sixth consecutive at this level for the “Blue and white” who have posted good statistics in this championship for three seasons (5th in 2014, 6th in 2015, 6th in 2016, 6th in 2017, 9th in 2018). After Didier Santini and Benjamin Rytlewski and Claude Robin, it is now Fabien Mercadal again who leads the pennant team. In the horizon of the future renovation of the Marcel Tribut stadium, the club chaired by Jean-Pierre Scouarnec is continuing its development process with the ambition of joining Ligue 2 in the years to come.
