USL Dunkerque

Full name:
Union Sportive du Littoral de Dunkerque
November 30, 1908 (111 years)
Stade Marcel-Tribut (4,200)

Division Honneur: Nord-Pas-de-Calais Group: Champions: 1960

The Union Sportive du Littoral de Dunkerque is a football club which is currently playing in the "National" championship (division 3). Founded in 1909 and more commonly known as "USLD", the Dunkirk club played in the second division between 1966 and 1996, holding the record for consecutive seasons played at this level.

In 1996, the USLD was relegated to National and the following year to CFA. It was in 2013 that the team touched the Grail, finishing at the head of group A of CFA with 103 points. The USLD, under the orders of Fabien Mercadal, will even be named champion of France of CFA at the end of a season which marks the return of the club in National after 16 years of waiting.

This 2018-2019 season is therefore the sixth consecutive at this level for the “Blue and white” who have posted good statistics in this championship for three seasons (5th in 2014, 6th in 2015, 6th in 2016, 6th in 2017, 9th in 2018). After Didier Santini and Benjamin Rytlewski and Claude Robin, it is now Fabien Mercadal again who leads the pennant team. In the horizon of the future renovation of the Marcel Tribut stadium, the club chaired by Jean-Pierre Scouarnec is continuing its development process with the ambition of joining Ligue 2 in the years to come.

An interesting team to start a story with, I'll be interested to see whether or not you can take Dunkerque to the upper echelon of French football. It's an old club at 111-years old, so there's also the chance that you can add a few pages to their history too!

Good luck :)
I was very close to starting my own story/save with Dunkerque. They're an excellent team to choose. I look forward to reading!
Best of luck for the save and the story, I look forward to following.

We started the adventure with USL Dunkerque. The first day I started the new job we immediately got to see the club's vision. The club culture says that we have to develop both inside and outside the field. Furthermore, the club wants us to promote to Ligue 2 within 2 seasons, by finishing in the middle of the first year.

Then I went to look at the financial picture. I knew from the beginning that I didn't have the greatest resources. So I have to make do with what I've been given. A transfer budget of € 0 and a salary budget of € 110,085. A difficult task .. but with the help of some transfer-free players, there should be some possibilities.

Not much is wrong with the staff. I have the right colleagues who can help me in the 1st season. I only want to focus on expanding the staff after this year

Then it is time to meet the team. We have a group of 20 players, 5 of which have been hired from other clubs. So work enough to add some reinforcements. We have a balanced team with both young talents and experienced players. I am confident that this team can develop into a promotion to Ligue 2 within 2 years.

Looks a good place to be with some strong finances at that level.
There are some good players in that squad. Maraval is an excellent goalkeeper and will be a key player, I believe.
Another nice update, LFC is right in saying that your finances are quite strong for a Championnat club. The beauty is that there's so many good players that you can poach from the other clubs at that level, that you could sell someone and then get their replacement for free. Distel Zola and Zachary Herivaux are two players that would be able to be signed on free transfers when their contracts in the US expire, and they're both extremely good central midfielders :) Then you can even poach the lads from the Ivory Coast, Senegal and Cameroon!
Very nice project, close to Belgium!
