FM Assistant 11 Bug Reports

IMPORTANT:
Please, please when you get an error, have a look at the Logging folder, and if there is a Log.txt file, please provide this file with exact details on how your error occurred.

It doesn't help in any way if you just say it doesn't work.

If there is nothing in the logging folder, what you can do is compress and send your save game file and then explain exactly how the problem is reproduced.

How to send your Log.txt file?

• You need to be logged in on this site to write in the forums, so do that first.
• Once logged in, hit the reply to topic button.
• At the end of the reply text area there is a link 'My files'. Clicking that will open a popup window with your personal file space.
• Upload your Log.txt file there, and click the 3rd icon to the right that says 'add as file url' to add a link to the file in your reply.

How to reproduce the problem:
We need exact details as per how your error occurred. In other words, say what you were trying to do before ending up with a bug/error/problem, so it gives us an idea how to replicate your issue.

Further acknowledgements:
Framework has some issues with contracts and dates. This might lead to crashes at some point. These should be logged on Log.txt.
Remember this is the first beta, so bugs are there. We need your help in order to fix them.

Unluckily hotfix was released at the same time FMA 11 got out, so if you want to keep using the tool, do not update to 11.1.1 yet as Kostas will be in the army for a few months and updates will be slow.

Updated initial post with a request in case there is no Log.txt file generated.

Doesnt work for me, wont bother sending save game as its a new game

Windows 64bit,

What I did:
Installed the game Via DvD offline mode
patched game to 1.11.1
started the game
started FMA
gave me a error when I click load game "make sure you have a new or saved game up and running"

this same thing happend with FM2010, I think I will wait for Genie Scout once again

Just had my mates try it, on a XP system, DvD game, doesnt work, on a Vista 32bit system steam version doesnt work, and on a Windows 7 32bit system doesnt work, all with nothing in log folder all tried with new games

also forget to mention all on new patch, 1.11.1

Fully uninstalled the game registry and all, clean install and DIDNT apply the patch and It still didnt work so, Im guessing its broken.

The program works and it's definitely not broken, but obviously only the ones having problems are posting comments.
Also remember this is the first beta, and you are not helping by saying it doesn't work and not providing your Log.txt or your save game.

• When you say 'started the game', did you actually loaded a game or started a new one? If you just opened FM without a save game running, how is it supposed to work? Furthermore, make sure you run the program after you extract the downloaded archive, and don't run it from within WinRAR (or whatever other zipping software you're using).
• Your mates could have a different problem than yours. Make sure you go by the requirements. Yes, it doesn't work with patch 11.1.1 yet.
• If you didn't apply any patch, it shouldn't work. It needs the 11.1 patch to work, so it won't work with 11.0.

Ok I will try to make it more simple what I did,

This is a CLEAN install of the Football Manager 2011

My system: Windows 7 64bit fully updated, all drivers up to date.

Installed Football Manager 2011 via the "Offline mode" Dvd, not via Steam.

When that finished installing I patched to 1.11.1 update of the game.

I started the game, started a new game as Stoke City, Saved that game.

Alt+Tab to get to Desktop,

Downloaded the FMA from this website,
extracted the folder to my Desktop
Right clicked the .exe in that folder and ran as Admin
It opened
I clicked "Load game" and it said "Make sure you have a new or loaded game up and running" and thats it.

I checked the "Logging" folder and its empty.

Like I said current FM Assistant 11 version is not compatible with the latest patch 11.1.1, neither with the 11.0 that comes with a clean install of the DVD version. It is only compatible with patch 11.1!

Ahh sorry then for sounding like an ass, but it really isnt clear in the original post...

It's alright mate, no worries.

I thought I stressed it enough on the download page, though it's a common phenomenon people not actually reading through and just hit the download button.
And unless they get an issue they never care for what's being written there, which was done to be read actually.

I'll be beta testing the application myself when I find some time to install my FM11 retail. Hopefully, there will be a framework update before Wednesday and that would mean a new FM Assistant version - otherwise I'm afraid there won't be any updates for the next 40 days or so.

i start a new save and the fm assistant tell me that messi is a free agent player x(

This is a pretty nifty little program except for a couple of serious errors.
1. All staff seem to show up as scouts for some reason.
2. When searching for players the search bar will freeze at about 75% every time.

I'm attaching the log file but that contains errors as well, My os is in fact vista x64.
