Season 2 - FA Trophy Winners - 06/05/12

FA Trophy Final
First Half
We got off to a great start with a scrappy tap-in from Jarvis in only the 2nd minute. On 40 minutes Arturo ten Heuvel’s free-kick met the head of Albrechtsen who directed the ball into the back of the net, 2-0. Just before half-time Braintree pulled a goal back from a well played corner. Half-time score 2-1 Havant & W.

Second Half
We looked better in the second half and worked hard to increase our lead to 2 goals again. On 67 minutes it came, a beautiful run from the competitions top scorer McShane and a perfect pass allowed Jarvis to tap the ball into the net from only 5 yards. The full-time score 3-1... Havant & Waterlooville win the FA Trophy!

A good performance, a great result and I’m delighted we’ve won the FA Trophy especially as we aren’t even officially a BSP team yet.

Finances
The FA Trophy win gave us a huge boost in finances with over 150K coming in from that match alone, however our finances are still in the red and I aim to balance our finances at the beginning of next season with some player sales.

Managers Players of the Season
1st - Arturo Van Heuvel - ML - By far our star player this season and not only has he contributed with an incredible amount of assists but he’s also scored 13 goals from midfield. Will definitely be in next seasons squad.

2nd - Jacob Albrechtsen - DC - Solid in defence this season and has become first choice centre-back.

3rd - Michael Duckworth - DR - Only a back-up player last season and has broken into the first team and really impressed. He’s improved more than anyone in the squad this season.

well done overall in the season :)

question for you, well a couple actually,

#1 what information do you use when selecting your line up, because i use assistant managers current ability rating for the player, best position and fitness/condition...

#2 how do you get the national badges to come up instead of flags? like where did you download them?

thanks,
Adam.
1. Fitness is usually most important for me, player must be about 94% or higher to start, then assistant/mypersonal rating and best position.

2. Got them here on FM Scout Flags Logos
thanks man :)
# adamahc : thanks man :)
Evo great story, just a few quick questions, i too have decided to take Havant through the divisions with a quest for champions league glory, however, how did you start your game, what leagues etc, what size database? I started with England all leagues, large database, but players like Cherno Samba, Whelehan cannot be found.
Also how did you manage to get liam o'brien, he is contracted at Portsmouth on my game still?
Heres the configuration for my Sunday league footballer game. A lot of leagues loaded because I'm hoping to move around a bit in this career.

Also I used custom database with small database and all players loaded with nationality of UK & Irish, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Belgian, Dutch, Czech, Danish and Norwegian.

You'd probably need Irish leagues or Irish players loaded for Whelehan and all English nationality players for Samba. As for O'Brien being at Portsmouth in your game I don't know, he's been a free agent at the start of both the games I've done. If your after a free keeper check out Josh Swann.

Season 3 - The Blue Square Premier - 11/08/12
http://img257.imageshack.us/i/havantwaterloovillefclo.jpg/
A new season in a new league and I’m excited about this campaign, The boards minimum expectation this season was to avoid relegation though I feel we can do much better, I selected a top half finish as a cautious option because I am new to this league but personally I think we can immediately challenge for promotion.

Arturo ten Heuvel deservedly earned fans player of the year and I managed to scrounge a more tasty contract out of the board, we also both became favoured personnel to Havant & W. The board looks like it might actually sell the club in the near future and are willing to listen to offers, I hope we get a sugar daddy. Pre-season friendlies went well with some good wins against slightly better opposition.

Transfers & Finances
A more quiet transfer period for me and this shows that I’m satisfied with the quality of players at the club. However some of last seasons first team players have been sold to try and bring the clubs finances out of the red. Some of the fees received were impressive including a record sale of 150K for Ebecillio and the clubs finances now look much better, with the wage bill only at 6K and 1.5K under budget hopefully we can maintain this positive bank balance without selling key players.

Key New Signings
Some good new players have joined the clubs squad resulting in a very strong team that’s well balanced.

nice story mate hope your a good promotional battler
Nice work! Good luck in BSP, you got a strong enough team
Yeah, your squad is more than enough, I got hired by Tamworth (ha ha), and I signed most of the players you recommended, and I am doing more than fine ;))

Season 3 - Good Start - 07/10/12
http://img257.imageshack.us/i/havantwaterloovillefclo.jpg/
The exact start I was hoping for in the BSP and were immediately setting ourselves out as early promotion challengers. At the moment Havant & W are one point off top and currently 7 games unbeaten. Lets keep it up.

The club is under the process of a takeover at the moment, unfortunately it looks like we'll be getting one of the boring old directors as the new chairmen.

Key Player
McManaman - ST - Has been terrific in attack so far having scored a goal a game, great form and I hope it continues.
nicely done mate :)
Excellent work, keep it going!
Season 3 - Table Toppers - 01/01/13
http://img257.imageshack.us/i/havantwaterloovillefclo.jpg/
Half of the season is gone and our league performance has been magnificent, we easily top the league and are 9 points clear with a game in hand over 2nd placed Lincoln. Our form has been brilliant and our current run in the league sees us 19 games unbeaten! We have scored more goals than anyone and conceded less, surely we’ll win two consecutive titles?

Our FA Cup participation came to an end in the second round against Macclesfield, I’m disappointed because we got an excellent win in the first round against League 1 side Swindon but lost to Macclesfield who we have taken 4 points off in the league this season and thrashed in the FA Trophy semis last season. Were still defending our FA Trophy Crown at the moment though, our next fixture is against Woking in the 2nd round.

Key Players
Packwood - MC - Has really improved from last season and set up many goals for his team mates and improved as a player, he’s doing a good job of convincing me to make him first choice in midfield.

Transfers & Finances
Finances are holding steady now I’ve got them balanced and part of this is thanks to average attendances which are now double (1400) what they were at this stage last season. Only one new signing so far in January, young defensive player Sanpreet Singh joins the club on a free and we now have far too many defenders but I don’t want to sell any!
