"CL: All teams are tough and despite the fact that Arbroath are not a big team they pose as much of a threat as anyone else, even though this is only a friendly this isn't being taken for granted."
Carlisle 2 - 0 Arbroath

Carlisle once again squandered several chances but still managed to get a victory from the game.

Carlisle had a goal disallowed early in the first half after a Ben Marshall pass to Alex MacDonald was given offside, despite McDonald firing into the net.

Michael Mifsud scored after a loose pass from Arbroath defender McGuire ended up at his feet.

Matty Robson sent in a cross from the edge of the box in the 58th minute which was driven into the 6 yard box, Ben Marshall got in there ahead of the keeper and poked it into the corner of the net.

"CL: I am happy with the win, but we once again wasted several chances, i'm sure that our players can finish effectively but we will need to get that out of them before the season starts."
If anyone wants to suggest any transfers or anything else, criticise/compliment the story then they can, i will respond to everyone i can.

Carlisle wanted to sign 18 year old Jose Baxter on a loan deal from Everton, but Chelsea put in a 2.4M bid for the young striker and this was too good to turn down for the teenager.

"CL: Jose is an excellent player who would absolutely demolish League 1, we would have loved to have him but Chelsea have obviously seen him as what he is, a great prospect for the future, we respect his decision and wish him well."

Carlisle will face their 2nd pre-season friendly against league 2 side Grimsby Town.

Carlisle were dominant in their match vs Grimsby, but once again only managed to win by a narrow margin.

Carlisle 1 - 0 Grimsby

Michael Mifsud fired in from just inside the area after a great lobbed through ball from Gary Madine.

Carlisle did however suffer an injury to highly sought after left winger Matty Robson. However it has been confirmed that the injury is not serious and Matty will not be out for any upcoming matches.

Carlisle have also confirmed the loan signing of Hungarian U21 goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi from Liverpool. He's an excellent prospect for the future and is relishing the opportunity for first team football. The loan is however only for 3 months as a result of Carlisle being unable to bring in any more long term loan signings because of League 1 restrictions.

To complete the recent flood of transfers, young Swedish striker John Guidetti has joined Carlisle on a 3 month loan from Manchester City.

Sorry about today about us doing the double over you this season :) UTS
Im currently my local team Walsall, and I signed Weimann from Aston Villa and he scored 25 goals in 34 games for me :)

Carlisle 2 - 0 Gainsborough

Carlisle once again get a 2 - 0 win in a pre-season friendly with an own goal from Dan Gamble and an early second half goal from Peter Murphy.

A corner which didn't seem to be going anywhere was hacked at by Gamble and he completely misjudged it and paid for his error as it ended up in the back of his own net.

An excellent cross by Frank Simek was met by a diving header by Peter Murphy which flew in the bottom right corner.

Craig was happy with the result, but had some bad points to say about his team

"Once again our forwards had chance after chance and we had to rely on a mistake by an opposition defender to go ahead, our finishing needs to improve if we're going to get results in the league."

Carlisle looked a lot more clinical than in the past few days after Michael Mifsud bagged a hat-trick to help Carlisle on their way to a 5-0 victory.

Carlisle's 1st goal came after a Kevan Hurst free kick hit the wall, Lubomir Michalik pounced on it, layed it off to Matty Robson who swiveled and blasted it in the bottom right corner.

Their 2nd came after Hurst ran in the box from the right side and was tripped by Andy Child, Milan Mifsud confidently tucked away the penalty.

Their 3rd came when Mifsud took a free kick from 25 yards out, hit it along the floor and curled it around the wall into the bottom corner, clinching his 2nd of the game.

Their 4th and the goal which capped off Mifsud's hat trick came when Taiwo passed it to Hogg who was waiting just outside the box, Hogg turned and gave it to Mifsud who spun around and took a shot which deflected off Kendal centre half Connor Rennie and flew in the top corner.

The goal which capped the performance off came when Taiwo and Hogg once again exchanged passes which resulted in Hogg laying it off to Marshall who hammered a shot at goal which Kendal keeper Regan parried, only for it to land at the feet of MacDonald who placed it into the bottom corner.

Despite all this however, Carlisle suffered 2 injuries during the game, the first came to Craig Curran early in the second half which led to him being replaced by Gary Madine, who then amazingly also got injured during the game.

"CL:I've spoken to Neil Dalton about the injuries to both Craig and Gary, Craig's injury is nothing serious and will be available for the upcoming friendly against Portsmouth. Gary's suffered a dead leg and will be out for about a week and will likely miss the Portsmouth game but should be available for all games afterwards."
