CARLISLE ADVANCE INTO NEXT ROUND

Carlisle managed another upset against Championship side Sheffield United. Carlisle won the game (which was rather boring) 1-0 thanks to a goal from Alex MacDonald.

MacDonald scored on the 38th minute as he outran the Sheffield defense to take a shot at goal, the goalkeeper managed a decent save but only pushed it out back to the Carlisle stiker who slid it past him into the net.

Carlisle will be awaiting the next round draw of the league cup to see who they get.

Subs:

Robson for Misun, 58
Hurst for Marshall, 58
Madine for Zoko, 68

The only bad point about the match was that Sheffield defender Nyron Nosworthy suffered fractured ribs and is likely to be out for up to 2 months

"CL: I am very happy with the victory and it's great that we got into the next round. I am very sorry to hear about Nyron's injury however, he is a great player and i hope he makes a speeedy recovery"
