Welcome all to my Tottenham story. I am new to the forums and this is my first post, how exciting!

I support Tottenham from afar in Australia. The last season was a great success, but like all of us who play FM, I think I can do a much better job than Redknapp!

Without further ado, I welcome you to my story and hope you have as much fun reading it as I do playing/writing it. Feel free to post your thoughts and suggestions on my progress and also any critique of my writing/presentation style.

I plan to write monthly updates on my results, signings etc. These will be interspersed with newspaper articles and 'leaked' emails.

Cheers,

BA

Disgraced Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp

In breaking news Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has become the latest person involved in the developing News of the World scandal. Scotland Yard has today revealed that emails have been found linking Mr Redknapp to an illegal betting ring. It is alleged the Spurs boss encouraged his players to throw away points at the end of last season in return for lucrative cash payments from the Murdoch owned paper. Other staff involved are said to include assistant manager Kevin Bond and coaches Tim Sherwood and Les Ferdinand. The Football Association have denounced the actions. Mr Redknapp was unavailable for comment today.

THE TRUE TRAITORS

Daniel Levy in a press conference today

After Scotland Yard yesterday charged football identity Harry Redknapp over betting allegations the Tottenham Chairman Daniel Levy has today announced that Spurs have sacked the disgraced manager. In a statement to the press Mr levy said "What we have seen in the past few days is an insult to the traditions of both the English Football Association and to this club." Mr Levy also added that the club would be "cooperating fully with the police investigations."

The club has announced the termination in the contracts of assistant manager Kevin Bond, Tim Sherwood and Les Ferdinand who have also been charged.

Tottenham Hotspur FC have unveiled 41 year old Mark Inglebert as their new manager as rumours about the clubs future continue to propagate. The Welsh manager enjoyed a successful playing career, with 35 international appearances and 5 goals for his nation. It is expected Inglebert will announce numerous staff signings within the coming days.

In a highly charged press conference Mr Inglebert announced he intended to "compete aggressively" in the domestic league and in Europe with an "attractive brand of attacking football". The new Spurs boss flagged his intention to "develop young players from the United Kingdom" as a long term transfer policy.

Inglebert's first competitive game in charge will be the against Celtic at White Hart Lane on the 24th of August.

Hi all, thanks for the positive reviews so far, makes it all worthwhile :)

In regards to transfers I have selected the NOT to allow transfers in the first window, ao i will be operating with the initial Spurs squad. And don't worry about VDV he is a key part of my team too! :) anyway more on that later...

Re: Appointment

Dear Mr Inglebert,

It is with pleasure the board welcome you to White Hart Lane. We look forward to your time in charge with anticipation.

As you would be aware Tottenham are a club with a developing European presence. We expect that you will continue this growth by being competitive in the group stages of the Champions League. Anything less than this would be considered a strong dissapointment in the eyes of the board.

Domestically, the minimum expectation is for the club to qualify for next years Europa League.

Despite the recent controversy it is the boards opinion that club and player harmony remain strong. The board expect you to retain key players such as Luka Modric and Rafael Van der Vaart.

Due to responsible fiscal management the club find themselves in a strong financial position. The board hope any future signings made under your management will be the result of thorough evaluation and scouting. In order to maintain such a successful monetary position the board expect any contract negotiations will be dealt with conservatively. The board have allocated a wage budget of €72.5m per annum.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact myself or another board member.

Sincerely,

Re: Appointment

Dear Mr Levy,

Thank you for your warm welcome to the club, I too look forward to my time here.

I share your aspirations for the club, and believe with the right staff and players we can forge our way into the class of Europe's elite. In order to achieve this I will require an upgrade to the youth facilities and training areas.

I hope to use the upcoming preseason friendlies as a chance to give younger players more experience and also to prepare the first team squad for the upcoming season.

Regards,

Extract from press conference held at White Hart Lane:

Loyal fans,

I have called this press conference to outline my plans for the future of this club. I know there may be some of you who have become disillusioned with our club because of events during the past weeks. I want you to know that the time for regret and recrimination is over.

Our club is graced with some of the most talented players in England, if not Europe. Over the coming season these players, and the staff at this mighty club will show you what it means to be a Spurs supporter. I firmly believe we have the talent to challenge for major domestic and European honours in the near future.

As a player I always felt loyalty was a footballers most important trait. If you are loyal to yourself, you will play for personal success. If you are loyal to those around you, you will play for the team. If you are loyal to your club, you will play for the fans. And if you are loyal to your country, you will play for glory. As a manager these values are still important to me. Under my stewardship this club will grow to become one of Europe's elite.

Tottenham have a very strong squad. Any future transfers will be the result of careful deliberations on behalf of myself and the scouting staff. We aim to bring in the best players we can, but as an English club I do believe we have a duty to nurture UK talent. With that in mind I can happily announce the board have decided to upgrade our youth facilities. In our youth academy will grow the stars of tomorrow. We will bring back the glory days of English football.

Thankyou.
Nice tough with the signatures mate, and a promising start to your story.
Welcome to FM Scout :)
lol i always thought redknapp was involved in somethings...fishy :D
Anyways nice start to the story.
Hi guys,

Thanks for the comments so far, keep 'em coming! As you might have gleaned from the above 'articles'I plan on signing primarily English players in the future. I'd like to see my team bring through some future national team players for any of the UK countries. Tottenham already have a strong UK contingent with stars like Bale, King, Dawson, Huddlestone, Bentley, Lennon, Defoe, Keane and Crouch.

The two formations I will operate with are a 4-5-1 and a 4-4-2.

4-5-1
Pavlyuchenko

Van der Vaart

Bale - Modric - Huddlestone - Lennon

Ekotto - Gallas - King - Corluka

Gomes

4-4-2

Pavlyuchenko - Defoe

Bale - Modric - Huddlestone - Lennon

Ekotto - Gallas - King - Corluka

Gomes

I have a preference for the 4-5-1 as I believe it will allow Pavlyuchenko to be the focal point of my attack and VDV as a creative force. The traditional 4-4-2 will be my fall back if things go bad, reliable and a classic tall man, short man combo.

Pending performances it's really only LB that may need strengthening in January. I'm hoping that K. Naughton can deputise and eventually take over from Ekotto, but maybe I will need an intermediate solution. Any UK based suggestions guys?

With the season about to begin I have selected my formation and line up. It's pretty standard but I expect Pavlyuchenko to be a better all round option than either Defoe or Crouch, and to be honest I'm not a fan of Keane.

Also a word of sympathy and remembrance for the families involved in the Oslo tragedy. Even as far away as Australia it seems so close to home. What a terrible, terrible day.
I love your stories you are writing so far mate and can't wait for your season to get underway. I was thinking how about signing leighton baines in the january window? Just a friendly suggestion :)
