Tottenham Hotspur Story

David Bentley turned in another world class outing this afternoon to lead Tottenham to a 7-0 thrashing of West Ham United. Bentley layed on 3 assists and scored 2 himself in his man of the match performance. Every Spurs player aquitted themselves well today with Gomes, Modric, Defoe and Crouch the other key performers.

Goals in the 1st and last minutes of the game gave us the win here. We struck the woodwork thrice making for another convincing victory.



The Carling Cup has produced its first upset this year with Championship side Sheffield Utd beating Arsenal 1:0. Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger had fielded a side dominated by youth, but this will come as no consolation to the clubs fans who see their side crash out before the quarter finals.

Ground out a win here away at Anfield. 'Pool were missing a number of players, including Torres and Skrtel, but Gerrard's presence still had to be dealt with. In the end it was Kyrgiakos' own goal in the 10th minute that sealed the win. Unfortunately Corluka twisted his ankle, which will keep him out for 4 weeks, Hutton and Naughton will deputise in his absence.


A quite fantastic month. We lie in 1st place on the table, and have now notched up 7 straight league victories. In 6 games this month we scored 21 goals and only conceded 1.



I have again won the manager of the month prize, and Defoe came 3rd in the player of the month award. Bale was also 3rd in the Young player of the month, but promisingly Kyle Walker, on loan at Stoke took 2nd.

Not a whole lot. I don't want to muck around with my squad too much as they seem to be playing pretty well. "If it ain't broke don't fix it". I will probably have a look for some nice youth talents to bring through, and sign a decent left back.

Nice to see you are doing so well in the league and that your chairman has also noticed this and awarded you on it. If you were ever going to sell Gareth Bale, (lets say you get a 50m offer) Juan Mata is a quality replacment for him and he fits in to the squad nicely.

A big month this as I play Manchester Utd (H) and Arsenal (H) in the EPL. In the UCL I take on AC Milan at home.

They say winners make their own luck and this was definitly the case here. Probably a draw would have been the fairest result but nonetheless an important win. Unfortunately Crouch strained HIS ankle too this game, leaving me without a withdrawn support forward. Pavlyuchenko is still out for a few weeks so I will have to make do with a lone striker, or do I play Van der Vaart in that role...

Tottenham really do have fantastic squad depth. Even up forward with so many injuries I was able to use the versatile Van der Vaart, who really excelled. A sure starter against Man Utd next week.

Hats off to Ledley King as well who scored a goal in his 250th league appearance for the club.

An electrifying game in which both sides played their hearts out! Defoe opened the scoring in the 7th minute after a great pass by Bale. Defoe then hit the post twice in the next 10 minutes after a frenetic opening period. Rooney equalised in the 47th and when a pnealty was awarded to Utd in the 59th minute it looked like a tough ask for Spurs. Gomes though made a fantastic save and then 7 minutes late Bale capitalised on Modric's fine pass. Edwin van der Sar kept Manchester in the game for much of the 1st half, pulling off a string of exciting saves.

The win sees us cement our place at the top of the table, 3 points clear of Manchester City, who beat Arsenal 3-0.

In an unfortunate twist though Van der Vaart has become the latest forward to fall under my support striker hoodoo. He is expected to be out for 2-3 weeks. Now I really don't have anyone to play there, back to the 4-5-1...

I would have counted on us winning this game, but our squad injuries have taken their toll as we looked a bit flat out there. Luckily City drew with Wolves so we maintain our 3 point lead.

DERBY DAY

In another sublime performance Tottenham Hotspur dispatched Arsenal to take home the first North London derby of the season. Despite the 3-0 scoreline it could perhaps have been worse for the Gunners as Tottenham hit the post twice more during the match. The game was essentially over in the 1st half, where all three goals were scored. The win maintains Tottenham's lead in the league while Arsenal remain a solitary point above Chelsea who were defeated 2-1 by Manchester City in other results.

Memorable win for us here with Modric scoring a long range curler into the top corner to give us the lead. I'm now certain to qualify top of the group.

Another fabulous victory! There really is something to be said for having such a deep squad and strong competition for places. I'm rotating between Bentley and Lennon on the right but really they both deserve to be starting! And I'm still waiting on Crouch and Pavlyuchenko to come back from injury! But who do I drop!?

DOWN AND OUT

Tottenham's Kyle Naughton will be out for around 2-3 months after sustaining a hip injury in the game against Wolves today. Despite coming on as a 2nd half substitute the full back went down under some pain. Naughton has made 12 appearances so far this season.


Another great month, can anyone stop us in this sort of form!? We came through all our big games this month brilliantly, beating Man Utd, Arsenal and AC Milan.

My only dissapointment was our 0:0 draw with Birmingham, but on recent displays it seems to have just been a blip.

I again won manager of the month and 3 of my players were the divisions player of the month. Luka Modric will have every reason to feel cheated though as despite scoring 4 goals in 5 appearances with an average rating of 8.22 he was placed behind 1st placed King and 2nd placed Gallas.
