I have been playing FM2011 for 11 seasons now, and have numerous saves on my laptop. They all open fine on that, and I can continue playing any of them if I want.
I have now purchased a PC as well, and installed the game on that as well.
However, I can't open the save games on the PC. It gives the common "the saved game can not be loaded" error.
I am copying the saves from the my documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2011/Games file on my laptop and pasting them in the equivalent file path on my PC.
I can still play the files on my laptop, so I am assuming they are not corrupt (at least the original files aren't)
I get the same error whichever save game I try to load.
Can someone please explain why I can't open the files, or what I need to do to play them on my PC?
