Thanks for the comment. I agree I do want to do line up so people get familiar with the players etc but the time it takes is just so long that im not sure I would be able to

just do a print screen you don't need to type out the lineups

September

Eastleigh 1:0 Oxford (Johnstone Paint Trophy 1st round)
First time in this trophy and a nice win. We played well but left it late with Adam clinching it in the 90th minute. However the league has to be our main focus with the great start we have had.

Dag & Reg 2:2 Eastleigh
Unbelievable comeback! 2-0 down to one of the best sides in the league and a goal from Adam in the 87th minute and a wonder strike from Adorjan in the 90th. Great away point and we continue the great start.

Eastleigh 2:0 Aldershot
Both centre backs in the goals this game. Set pieces have been brilliant this season with Silny taking all of them. O’Reilly and Parkes the ones to take full advantage of his quality deliveries.

Eastleigh 1:0 Hereford
Welshman Watkins gets the only goal of this game and a very good strike it was too. Back to back clean sheets are always welcome and so far it’s been a very good month.

Eastleigh 1:3 Plymouth
Bad result at home but considering the start we have had I will let this game slide as Plymouth have a fantastic squad of talent.

Burton 2:0 Eastleigh
I will not let this result slide. Poor performance against a poor side. We need to get back in the points sharpish.

Monthly Summary: Bad end to the month but still a lot of points gained and we stay in the top 4 of the league table.

October

Chesterfield 0:1 Eastleigh
I thought this would be a very difficult game but we crucified them. Doble getting the only goal of the game. Chesterfield didn’t create anything and that showed in the match stats with them having no shots on target.

Wycombe 0:2 Eastleigh (Johnstone Paint Trophy 2nd round)
Doble on fire again scoring both the goals and getting us through to the quarter finals.

Port Vale 0:0 Eastleigh
A very dull game with both teams looking tired due to the recent cups being played. Still not a bad point away from home and yet another clean sheet.

Eastleigh 1:1 Bury
With both goals coming in the first 10 minutes it looked like it was going to be a very exciting game but it all went downhill and nobody seemed to be able to pass the ball in a straight line therefore meaning a draw was always on the cards.

Eastleigh 1:0 Rotherham
Adam getting the goal in this game and gaining a much needed 3 points. Our defence are playing very well recently but might struggle next game against a very good attacking Morecambe side.

Morecambe 2:0 Eastleigh
Just like I predicted, a fast and flowing Morecambe side that completely ripped us apart.

Monthly Summary: A mediocre month with a lot of dropped points. Hopefully next month can be much better and start to put a gap between us and 7th.

November

Eastleigh 1:1 Shrewsbury
With us having 21 shots in this game you would expect a win but we just could not muster up the second goal. Adam did his best after getting the first but just could not get the ball over the line hitting the woodwork twice.

Eastleigh 1:0 Gillingham
Great win for us, there player scored the goal but its still 3 points and that’s all that matters. With the fixtures we have left this month we should not lose any of them in the league.

Swindon 3:1 Eastleigh (Johnstone Paint Trophy Quarter Final)
A loss but one we don’t really mind. The focus is on the league and even this cup does not give you a lot of money if you win it so it’s not a huge loss going out of it.

Eastleigh 4:0 Aveley (FA Cup 1st round)
Easy win against non-league opposition. NEW SIGNING ON LOAN Dominic Samuel grabbed a hat trick in this game. He is only here for a month due to me not having a 3rd striker due to injury.

Grimsby 3:3 Eastleigh
Devastated!! Grimsby are bottom with 7 points and somehow got a point in this game by scoring the equaliser in the 94th minute. 2 points indeed lost here. Adam Doble and Silny getting the goals.

Accrington 1:2 Eastleigh
Jorgensen and Silny grabbing the goals here and giving us a great away win making up for last week’s disappointing result.

Monthly Summary: Going unbeaten this month was much needed if we want to get promoted this season which looks very much achievable.

December

Nuneaton 1:4 Eastleigh (FA Cup 2nd round)
Standard win against a poor team. Doble getting man of the match with 2 stunning goals. However the sooner we get out of this cup the better as the squad are starting to feel very jaded considering they are all aged 23 or below.

Eastleigh 0:2 Exeter
We had 58% possession but for once could not create any chances which is a shame considering the strikers we have to put them away. We need to move on from this result and grow.

Eastleigh 2:0 Cheltenham
Much better performance from us with even more possession then the previous week and actually creating chances 25 shots in fact. Doble getting both of them.

Brentford 0:2 Eastleigh
Doble and Adam getting one each to give us a great away win and take us into the top 4 in the league. I am hoping we continue to stride on and play like we are.

Eastleigh 0:2 Crewe
Back into the habit of having way too much possession but not creating enough to get anything. We need to finish on a high next week to keep the form going.

Yeovil 2:3 Eastleigh
GET IN!! What a great game. Doble and Adam equalising and then in the 93rd minute Jorgensen has hit the winner and sent the Spitfires going mental.

Monthly Summary: 9/15 points is still good promotion form and we need to set out goals to achieve the huge expectations that I am setting for my young side.

January

New signings: Ward Prowse from Southampton has been loaned to me. Fantastic talent and one that will go straight into the first team. Oyenuga is a young striker who has joined also. He is a great signing and will be able to replace Doble or Adam whenever necessary.

Eastleigh 0:2 Norwich (FA Cup 3rd round)
Kevin De Bruyne got both of the goals to dump us out of the cup. I’m glad here was no replay as it would only have given us another midweek game to play.

Eastleigh 2:3 Southend
Poor result at home and it means they have done the double over us this season. Doble and Parkes scored the goals.

Eastleigh 2:1 Wimbledon
Doble got the goals and also a red card in this game. Great win for us and keeps us in the top 4.

Walsall 3:0 Eastleigh
Worst performance this season by a mile. They had 25 shots and 61% possession. We had no answer and looked a team that deserved to be 2 leagues below then this standard.

Eastleigh 3:2 Cambridge
Great comeback after last week and the work ethic from the players was great. Adam getting a hat trick and showing why he is one of the best forwards in the league.

Monthly Summary: A hot and cold month 6/12 points isn’t great but keeps us within contention of promotion.

February

Plymouth 2:3 Eastleigh
UNBELIEVABLE!! What a game this was. 2-0 down after 30mins and it looked like it was going to be a battering. Half time I gave them a very angry team talk and then Adam gave us some hope on the 67th minute with a fine finish. Then Prowse hit a screamer on the 85th minute to give us at least a point. 4 minutes were added on and for some reason they played up to 96 minutes and a corner was whipped in from Silny and O’ Reilly bulleted a header past the keeper to send the Eastleigh Fans insane.

Eastleigh 2:0 Dag & Reg
Fantastic win against top of the table. It looks like last week’s win has given the whole club a real boost and got them thinking they might just have enough for promotion.

Aldershot 5:0 Eastleigh
Ouch. The score line is very flattering for them. The game was very even but they just found it hard to miss. Every shot they had seemed to go in and we need to put this defeat behind us and move forward again.

Eastleigh 5:1 Burton
That’s how you put a result behind you Oyenuga with 2 and Adam getting yet another hat trick this result pretty much takes away last week’s shambolic goal difference.

Eastleigh 3:2 Chesterfield
Adorjan and Prowse on the score sheet this game but the bad news is that silny has got injured for a week and will miss 2 crucial games.

Monthly Summary: Fantastic month which puts us 2nd in the league and 2 points behind Dagenham.

March

Hereford 1:2 Eastleigh
Watkins and O’Reilly with the goals in this game to give us a tremendous 3 points away from home, hopefully we can kick on this month and keep in contention of the top 3 and automatic promotion.

Bury 1:0 Eastleigh
We were completely dominated by Bury in the game and did not warrant any points and that’s exactly what we got. Andy Bishop got the goal for the home side but in truth it could have been much worse.

Eastleigh 2:0 Port Vale
Good win here against a very good Vale side. Watkins and Silny grabbing the goals to give us 3 points and a solid clean sheet.

Rotherham 3:0 Eastleigh
Well this was terrible. 38% possession for us in this game where we created nothing and in the end got nothing. With the 3 games remaining we cannot afford any more losses.

Eastleigh 4:0 Morecambe
Fantastic win and stunning for our goal difference, this puts us back in 3rd position and we need to finish strong this month to put us ahead of the others if we want to finish in the top 3.

Shrewsbury 2:2 Eastleigh
Oyenuga getting both the goals for us this game, we should have won this and we were very disappointed when Shrewsbury equalised in the 91st minute. 2 points lost here.

Eastleigh 3:1 Grimsby
Comfortable win against by far the worst team in the league. Prowse got 2 of the goals and Oyenuga the other. Coming to the final month now of this season hopefully it will be a successful one.

Monthly Summary: This has been a very good month as its put us 5 points clear of 4th and we hope to hang on next month to clinch promotion.

April

Eastleigh 2:0 Accrington
Prowse and Watkins getting the goals in this crucial win. This win is huge due to the fact out of our last 5 games of the season 4 of them are away :S

Gillingham 1:0 Eastleigh
Hard done by in this game and it’s a very annoying defeat to get considering we would of taken a draw. These last few games are going to be very hard to obtain wins and we need to give everything.

Exeter 0:1 Eastleigh
GET IN!! Fantastic win and one that we did not deserve to get. There defender got an OG and that’s all that separated the two sides in the end. We are very close to promotion now and only one win would seal it.

Cheltenham 1:1 Eastleigh
Not a win but a good point anyway considering 4th place slipped up. Silny scored a stunning free kick and this result means if we do not lose at home next week we are promoted!

Eastleigh 0:0 Bradford
PROMOTION!!!! After this game I don’t think I have any nails left. We just could not put the ball in the next then we had to hang on. This is an unbelievable achievement, this is down to the whole squad and I think the extra signings of Prowse and Oyenuga in January made a huge difference. Would love to get Prowse again in League 1 next season.

Crewe 2:0 Eastleigh
A bad defeat but I don’t think anyone involved with the club cares. We finish 3rd in the end with Bury taking over us on the final day.

Monthly Summary: Fantastic month in the end could have been a bit more convincing and if we won most of them we would have won the league. But too many away games were the problem in the final month.

I had a mini break from this story but it will now be returning within the next few days. It will involve the new transfers and the first few months of league 1

It has been a very long time since I posted anything about the Eastleigh story.

My promotion from League 2 so quickly was a huge surprise to many people of the football world and the summer arrived and players had to come in thick and fast if the upcoming season was to be a success.

I once again looked at all the European national squads and there youth to find any bargain free transfers. It worked a young Cypriot named Andreas Kezos looks a massive talent in centre midfield with great free kick stats. Another was Manny Muscat an experience Maltese defender who got a big scout report.

However my favourite signing was getting Ibrahima Sonko. A massive unit with bundles of experience. He should be good both defending and going forward on set pieces. Other players that joined were Max Power (what a name) Damien Mozika, Jordan Stewart and the return of Ward Prowse on loan for the season.

This window I have concentrated on experience and brought in big name defenders to sure up the defence. I found it hard to find a good keeper and Gilpin will once again be the man in the sticks. I will be looking at set pieces to get me a lot of goals this season.
