Wasnt Maynor Figeuroa the player that you wanted originally? Well done on signing him. Do you have a back up for him?
yeah he was my main target so im really glad i was able to sign him . ive got davide santon who can play Left back . and im also going to train Gutierrez to it aswell just in case of an injury crisis

News from Red Bull Arena.

Newcastle United have just lifted the MLS cup with the game finishing 0-0 the game went to a penalty shootout which Newcastle won 4-3. its nothing more than what Newcastle deserved after dominating the game from start to finish.

very happy with my teams ability to pass the ball around on the deck as that is the kind of football im try to get this team to play and it looked quite good at times. the only downside of the game was the inability to find the back of the net. but all in all im happy with the lads
Sounds like your fine then and wow should have finished them off a lot sooner but good that you won it :)
PRESEASON ROUND-UP

so Pre-Season is over and i gotta say there were some mixed results some which im not to happy with. but its not the end of the world cause my main focus was for my team to get use to my 4-3-3 tactic which consists of trying to keep the ball through short sharp passing. and also pressing when we lose possession. i believe in a month or 2 we should have it down packed .

Im hoping with the addition of Etienne Capoue we can make a real push for Europe next season.

Stay tuned . . .
the Journey begins

Opening Day
13.8.11
The Premier League kicked off today as Arsenal traveled to St James Park, Arsenal were touted as pretty comfortable favourites but were made to fight for a point this afternoon as Newcastle united provided a real test and were fortunate enough to go ahead through Chieck Tiote as he found space in the box after a cross from gutierez and volleyed home to the joy of the toon army faithful,
but celebrations were short lived as Walter Montillo equalised within minutes with a powerful head from point blank range. chieck Tiote later limped off in which looked to be a fairly serious injury

final score 1-1

Scorers
Cheick Tiote
Walter Montillo

Injury news
Tiote : 2-3 months with a dislocated shoulder

Overall im quite pleased with the result. my team really knocking the ball around really well in some parts. Capoue and Cabaye looking really comfortable on the ball. and a near faultless display from my back four. the lads can be really happy with their performance
After selling Harper you should consider getting keeper as back up for Krul.
ill be looking for a backup keeper in january. but for now ill just use Rob Elliot or Ole Solderberg. but hopefully nothing happens to krul before then or i could be in some trouble
looking good, who are you gonna play instead of tiote
Back-up goalies:

Cilessen (Ajax), Zoet (RKC/PSV)

20.8.11

the first Tyne-Wear derby of the season saw Sunderland run out clear 2-0 winners with goals from Nicolas Bendtner and Sebastian Larsson condemning Newcastle to defeat.

Im clearly not happy with this result as we rarely troubled the Sunderland defence and also looked shaky on the ball with miss placed passes becoming ever to common . whilst there was no urgency to win the ball back when we lost possession

i might have to make some changes for the next game to turn things around

Round 2

newcastle United have secured there passage to the 3rd round of the Carling Cup with a 2-0 win over MK Dons at St James Park courtesy of 2 goals from Papiss Cisse. this was a pretty polished performance with the accuracy of our passing it made it hard for MK Dons to get near the ball at times

overall im pleased to be in the 3rd round as we will be taking this competition seriously, hopefully we can avoid the big names in the next round as we continue our quest toward the Carling Cup
Transfer News

News around Newcastle United today is that Peter Lovenkrads has been released from his contract. The board and players would like to thank Peter for his contribution over the last couple of years.
Rumours circulating today in the Daily mail is that Newcastle could make a move for Bordeaux defender Lamine Sane. but nothing is yet confirmed

Round 3

Today we witnessed Wigan Athletic move into the 4th round of the Carling Cup after defeating Newcastle United 3-0 on penalties after the game ended 1-1, Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse and Fabricio Coloccini all missing there spot kicks

not very happy about this result because yet again we dominated possession but could do nothing with it. i might be making some changes to our tactics to see what the problem is. this loss leaves us with only the league to focus on now until January when the Fa cup kicks off
