I am relatively new to FM12 and it is just so that I have only started playing right when the season has ended. Bad timing, but I still want to write a story because it's something I've wanted to do for ages after looking at all the stories on this site months back.

I am a die-hard Liverpool supporter and just for fun, I picked Manchester United for this story because I wanted to see if I could handle the pressure of managing one of Europe and England's best.

I am also new to the forums so there are some stuff about the forums that I don't know how to utilize yet, e.g. posting pictures.

MANCHESTER UNITED
Media prediction: 2nd
My target: Title challenge
Friendlies
Man Utd 3 - 0 Man Utd Reserves
Man Utd 2 - 0 Olympique Lyonnais
Dundee 0 - 4 Man Utd
Estudiantes Tecos 2 - 2 Man Utd
Antwerp 0 - 7 Man Utd
Genoa 1 - 1 Man Utd
Ponferradina 1 - 7 Man Utd
Villareal 2 - 2 Man Utd

No losses in the pre-season friendly matches, and I was also able to experiment with some of my youngsters. I am particularly pleased with the 7-0 thrashing of Antwerp as I didn't play a lot of key players, mostly youngsters. Will Keane shone the most, bagging two of the goals. In my 7-1 thrashing of Ponferradina, spectacular Rooney scored four, Nani scored two, and the last goal went to Anderson. Overall, quite pleased with my pre-season results and this will give the team some confidence for the Community Shield match.
Transfers In
Kerim Frei (Fulham, $6M)
Kyle Walker (Tottenham, $15M)

Transfers out
Paul Pogba (Preston, Loan)
Ben Amos (Ipswich, Loan)
Michael Keane (Barnsley, Loan)
Sam Johnstone (Yeovil, Loan)
Tom Thorpe (Bury, Loan)
Larnell Cole (Hartlepool, Loan)
Zeki Fryers (Sheffield Wednesday, Loan)
Will Keane (Notts Country, Loan)
Reece Brown (Rotherham, Loan)
Ritchie De Laet (Sporting POR, $3M)
Jonny Evans (FC Porto, $8M)

May be looking to do one or two more transfers before the window closes.
Interesting buying Kerim Frei. Hope he turns out to be a quality player for you :)
I'd advise you to sign Leandro Damiao from Internacional in Brazil. Hes a proven goalscorer and will bag you 15 goals a season.
That may not seem prolific, but the goals he scores will be clinical.

I also advise you to sign Walter Montillo from Cruziero, and try and get Ganso from Santos, although Manchester City always go in for him.

I will be following your story closely, seems you know what you're doing!

Good luck :)

Neymar never leaves on my save, but without fail, Ganso always goes to Manchester City
Thanks for the input! I have looked to try to sign Leandro Damiao on my Liverpool save before but his club always rejects my bids. But at the moment my team has too many strikers. Rooney, Welbeck, Chicharito, Owen and Berbatov. If I'm in need of strikers I'm definitely looking towards him though.

Thanks, I'm sure he will!
Check my Sunderland story mate? Bad start unfortunately :(

Would be fun to get a network game started when we both have spare time :)

What's a network game? Sorry, I'm new :P
The transfer window has closed and before it did I brought my last signing (for this summer anyway) Junior Hoilett from Blackburn to Old Trafford - for a fee of $20M. Steve Kean was unwilling to sell but Blackburn's owners stepped in and accepted the offer because they felt it was too good to pass up. In the end Steve Kean got stick from the Blackburn fans because of the transfer. Haha, tough life.
Hoilett's stats dont seem promising but his potential seems to be through the roof. Interesting to see where you'll be with him in 4-5 seasons time.

Network game is where 2 people can play one game on different computers :)
Community Shield
Man Utd 3 - 0 Man City

Superb match as Giggs, Rooney and Valencia all scored. All three goals were created by crosses, which is saying something about our wingers. Patrice Evra got a straight red and will miss our first game of the season, so that means I'll be going to have to rely on Fabio. Overall I'm delighted to get one over the neighbors and get my first trophy. Bring on the season!

EPL Game 1
Man Utd 5 - 2 Wolves

Welbeck just came back from England duty and bagged two goals so I decided to start him today - and he repaid my faith by scoring a hat-trick. Rio Ferdinand scored with a spectacular 25-yard strike and Darren Fletcher scored next to complete the thrashing. Wolves' Kevin Doyle netted two consolation goals for Wolves.

EPL Game 2
Blackburn 1 - 2 Man Utd

Captain Vidic netted a header followed by a Rooney winner. Steven N'Zonzi pulled back a consolation goal in the 89th minute. We weren't good enough this match, should have scored more with the amount of chances we created, and I made sure I let the team know this after the game.

EPL Game 3
Man Utd 1 - 1 Arsenal

Arsenal completely dominated us the whole game but like us, couldn't score from the chances they created. We looked set to miss out on even a point after an RVP penalty put Arsenal ahead, but in the very last mintue of injury time great old Chicharito scored a stunner. Delighted, but not with the performance of the team today.

EPL Game 4
Bolton 1 - 0 Man Utd

We completely screwed up! We, again, couldn't do much with the chances we created and I'm starting to wonder where the pre-season form has gone to. Martin Petrov scored the winner, a penalty. At least it's comforting to know that our defence is rock solid. We just have to be less aggressive and such.

Other news
I now have a new feeder club in Ukranian champions Shakhtar Donetsk. Also, we have drawn with Shakhtar(coincidentally), Bayer Leverkusen and M.Haifa for the group stages of the Champions' League. Relatively easy group and I am confident of at least getting to the quarters or semis.
