The problem is that most of the excellent defensive youngsters are playing for your rivals.
For example, for me, easily one of the best young DC's is Danny Wilson (SCO/L'Pool). At 19, he spent a year on loan with me at Dortmund, and was a fantastic back-up with Hummels and Subotić.
Then, you have Raphaël Varane, of Real Madrid, who is also one of the next big things in the coming generation. Of course, the problem is that, he already plays for RM. Why would he come to Manchester when he is only 18/19.
Other favourites are Kyriakos (Schalke 04) Stefan de Vrij (Feyenoord), and of course, City's pair: Savić and Boyata.
If you really want a young defender, I'd go for Mateo Musacchio from Villarreal. A physically strong CB can only rarely be a complete idiot.
BTW: Why don't you buy Ryan Shawcross? He IS an idiot, but he makes up for it...

Martin Montoya is class. Could do great with a team that wants to challenge for the title. Could do WONDERS for a mid-table team. You'll have to manage him the right way though.
Papadoupoulous from Schalke is also a great central defender, as is Dede from Vasco - who, in my friend's save, have scored a great lot of headers. I'm playing a Liverpool save and the entire Liverpool back-line is quality with Sebastian Coates, Daniel Agger and Danny Wilson my star men. Phil Jones and Chris Smalling also become great center-backs for United. Especially Phil Jones. That kid is quality.

i dont rate kyriakos papadopolous. he lacks the composure and concentration to become a top centre back .same as with martin montoya.
real decent young centre backs are really hard to come by. but i would suggest mikel san jose because he is good at pretty much everything and has no real weaknesses

montoya is quality at rb thou i suggest harry maguire from sheff utd he only 19 but has played a lot of football for his age and can get him for bout 2.5 mill
