After a 3-0 win over BSK Borca Red Star have completed the double.

The Serbian Cup final was a one-sided affair with Soukouna - Red Star's goalmachine getting a hat-trick.

Nikolic is now looking to build the squad for next year, as the rules only allow 5 foreign players in the matchday squad he is sending scouts closer to home and looking to offload any deadwood in terms of foreign players.

Nikolic's final press release of the season
We have witnessed a magnificent season, I am proud to be managing this team and group of players. We were confident of a good showing domestically and in the end we did the fans proud, Champions League next year means we have to work very hard if we are to get to the group stages.

Going in at the 2nd qualifying round is going to be hard but the revenue that will be made even if they fail and end up with a Euro cup spot will be great for the cash strapped club
The new season dawns and Nikolic's boys have Northern Irish team Portadown in the 2nd qualifying round of the CL.

What is a concern though is that the budgets set are not good enough to help Nikolic add to the squad. 14k wages to spend and only 27k transfer budget... To make things worse Soukouna has stated he wants to leave after Nikolic rejected bids for him and Wallyson is being chased too
Only one pre-season match as the qualifying took over the early months but Nikolic's Red Star are in the Champions League! In their group are :
A 3rd place spot is what Nikolic is hoping for as that can get the in the Europa league but whatever the outcome this experience will be invaluable.

5 wins out of 5 in the league see Nikolic's side top the table scoring 16 goals along the way, a 2-1 loss to PSG away saw their first CL game of the season end in defeat despite taking the lead, a good showing and it promises to be a good season hopefully on all fronts for the young managers side

Nikolic's Red Star have gone over 500minutes without conceding a goal, are 8 out of 8 in the league and sit 2nd in their CL group after wins vs. Valencia and Shakhtar
Great story! Serbian stories are always fun :)

Halfway through season #2

A 3rd place finish in their CL group ensured Red Star got a Europa League spot, with PSG and Shakhtar progressing with 13 points, Red star finished with 9 and Valencia with 0 (conceding 20 along the way!) The game that determined Red Star's fate was the 3-2 loss vs. Shakhtar, they led 2-1 but the Ukranian side rallied back and eventually came out as winners.
In meetings with the board in the Winter Break Nikolic has persuaded them to look into finding a feeder club and also to upgrade the youth facilities! whilst ensuring his side stay sharp in this break he has arranged a host of friendly leagues, cups and matches against teams like Santos and Internacional to Litex and Zenit, the results are not important, just that the players come through injury free and match fit.

Werder Bremen are up in the europa league when the break is over, a tough test but one Red Star can win.
After the Winter Break Red Star recorded a historic win over Werder Bremen 2-1 on aggregate then faced Dinamo Kyiv in the next round... a 1-0 loss away from home meant that Nikolic's boys had it all to do going into their home leg and things started badly when Kyiv took the lead 2-0 on agg. Soukouna then sparked Red Star into life scoring minutes after to make it 1-1 and then just after HT to make it 2-1, one more goal was needed and Red Star would progress...

But a defensive lapse in concentration let Milevsky in again to score his 2nd and to all but confirm Kyiv's progression with 25 minutes left. Red Star would not lie down however and got a 3rd through Soukouna sealing his hat-trick and with 7minutes left one more goal would see them through!

It wasn't to be however and although a good win, it was not enough.

Nikolic's boys have the chance to go 18 clear in the league if they win their game in hand, that will take them up to 20 games played and with ten left they seem to have the league tied up. The semi finals of the cup are looming too with Red Star favourites to win that also.

Nikolic secures Red Star a second consecutive league win in his second season in charge of the Serbian side. With a cup final to come it seems like Red Star are once again the big force in Serbia.

Winning the league means qualification for the Champions league once again and the revenue from it will help massively
