Year 5 League 1

So back in league one after a disappointing season, the board finally realised that they had to support me better. My scouting range was increased from Uk and Ireland up to all of Europe. This gave me the opportunity to search Europe for the best Regens.

Transfers

I knew I would have to cash in on my valuable players to give me transfer funds to work with. I decided to buy plenty of regens now and hopefully develop them in League one in time for the championship. Only two of my signing aren't regens, both former Man United academy players.

Robbie Brady

Irish versatile midfielder, good stats all around - £40K from Nottingham Forest.

Will Keane

Attacking Midfielder/ Striker great first touch and finishing, class player - Free from Man United.

My most impressive regen signings were....

Eric Majtan

Centre back who I bought to partner Steven Caldwell, scouts say he has the potential to become a good Championship defender but I think he is better than that, scores a lot of goals from corners too- Free agent

Riccardo Donati

Creative Italian midfielder with great technical attributes, scouts believe he has potential to become a good Premier League Midfielder - Free agent from AC Milan

Jan Dubsky

Replacement Goalkeeper for Alex Smithies who I sold to Burnley for £700k - Jan is one of the best players at my club and after a year he is solid first team player- Free agent

Brian Steen Lindegaard

The answer to my striker problem, only 19 so had alot of time to develop, has Premiership potential- Free agent

Gavin Thomas

Another Regen striker, has 26 caps for Wales u21 and he is only 20, should be quality in a few years- £150k from Llanelli, my biggest transfer fee.

End of season review

A very successful in both league and cup form. After all my new signing it did take awhile for them to gel and for me to get on form, I managed to qualify for the Play-offs and managed to keep my 100 % record of getting through the play-offs also beating Crawley 8-1 in the first leg of the semi-final of the play-offs.

The highlight of my season was however my great form in the Johnstone's paint trophy which I did win.

I believe now that I have enough quality to stay in the Championship next year as these regens really are impressing.
Excellent work to gain tripple promotion. I dont think getting relegated was a reality check, you were bound to get a beating in one of the divisions. It looks like you have used your budget well to consolidate and hopefully this year in the championship will be a different story for you. Enjoy

Nicely done mate after getting relegated, the players to brought in look to be class and could serve you well in the Championship especially if you manage to keep those players fit and healthy and also you should have more depth now.

I cant wait till i can scout further than UK & Ireland, its killing me at the moment.

8-1 in the first leg, CRAWLEY TOWN would be shattered!!! lol.

Year 6 - Championship

So back in the championship where I believe this team belongs, after a great season in League one I was eager to strengthen my squad further but try to remain loyal to the players that won me promotion. A successful season will be top half of the table for me as I know I am capable of that. I want to only be in the championship for at most two years as I believe any longer than that my team will just stagnate in mid table.

Transfers

Main transfers out

Pedro

He wanted to leave the club for a bigger reputation club and I was happy to let him go as I knew I could find better quality regens than him.

Marnick Vermijl

He was a great player for the squad but had too bad of an attitude so had to be sold.

Ronnie Minkwitz

Four years at the club and over a 100 games, 1860 Munchen came in with an impressive offer for him and again as with Pedro I know there are better regens.

Jan Haman – Regen who I bought last year, good turn-over in a year with only 17 league games – A nice offer of £1.1million couldn’t be turned down.

Main transfers in

Ole Johan Lango

Another Norwegian regen with premiership potential, I have had to offer him more wages a couple of times after clubs are competing to sign him. He is my best player after his first season – Regens Free transfer.

Runar Ostli

Regen centre back who I bought as a partner for Steven Caldwell who I believe only has a year left for me. He has the potential to become a good premiership defender. Free agent.

Fabio De Bella

Regen Midfielder with great stats all around, great when given attacking playmaker role.Watch this video >>>>
Pretty decent strike

Bjorn Kare Hov

Again another regen from Norway who is an attacking midfielder / attacker but I think he has stats for a centre midfielder.

End of season review

After winning a cup last year I wanted to impress in the FA Cup and I managed to get into the fifth round where I was beat by Aston Villa.

A successful season with a poor start for me and poor ending but I did have great form in the middle of the year. Even though I did finish 5th it wasn’t secured until the last match day with the table changing all match day.
Finally I got beat in a play-off match but I never expecting too much after being drawn against a strong Everton team.

As I said before the championship is a two year project for me so I am really impressed with my form this season but again I do have to improve further to be Premiership standard.[

******Two years of updates tomorrow *****

WAITING SON!!!!
Bad luck with the demotion, but I am glad to see that you still have the support of your Board, it means you are doing something right.....

It also looks like you are adept at scoring bargains from the transfer market, some of your regen signings look like they wouldn't be out of place in the EPL.

Are you able to tell us which clubs released the players on frees....I bet they are green with envy seeing their former charges do the business elsewhere.

Well done and I wish you more success!
Like it mate, good to see some love for the BSP teams! Interestingly enough I too took a BSP club (Kettering) up through the leagues and completely smashed it until getting into the championship, where we too were relegated... it's such a hard league! Keep up the posts!

Year 7 - Championship

So this is year two of my two year championship project and i was unlucky last season but I know this year I can do it.

Transfers

Transfers out

Basically all the players I sold this year I believed I didn’t believe had premiership quality, even though I was only in the championship I was building a premier league side. I did sign some regens that I did loan out too.

Main transfers in

Lars Christian Ostbo

Another Norweigen winger- free regen I signed him mainly because I thought he had good stats and believed I could make a profit on him.

Adédédji Traoré

French regen winger with good stats all around – released from P.S.G and he had a lot of big clubs wanting to sign him.

Nils Jung

German regen winger who I never really believed in his potential, he did have great physical stats and was released from Bayern – another I later sold onto Man Utd.

Riccardo Ferrati

Italian teenage left winger who was a real star for me in the first half of the championship but then in January Fiorentina offered £4.6 million which was accepted by my board – he had scored 19 goals in 26 games from left winger, but hasn’t developed at Fiorentina sadly enough.

All my other signings were youngsters who I wanted to develop and I sent most of them on loan.

End of season review

Second in the league and automatic promotion without the pressure of the play – offs. The championship proved to be a very competitive season with only 9 points between the top four.

It could have been a lot better for me though, I did lead the table by 10 points mid-way through the table but I managed to have two bad spells which meant I had to rely on 4 wins in my last 5 games to avoid the play – offs.

A pretty routine year for me that worked out as good as I could of wished for and now the best league in the world is going to have little Licoln City. I cannot wait to bring my small club to the old trafford and play against the top clubs and pit my tactics against them.
What you said it is very interesting.
Good luck in the Prem, your ability to sign great players on free transfers will set you in great stead to eventually mount a title challenge.

What are your budgets and facilities like now?

And are you using Imgur for loading your pics? My first glance is that the photos are oversized.
Wow that is quite a big kitty considering where you have come from.

How big is your stadium and are you getting the fans to sell it out?

I'm actually pushing for promotion to the EPL in my 6th year in charge of Ebbsfleet, but my biggest fear at the moment is i have an 8,900 seater stadium.

Does this mean i'll have to upgrade to compete in the EPL, which no doubt means ill either have to rent a stadium or spend everything i earn to get to the EPL on an upgrade which would not allow me to upgrade any of my players...

Any by the way i cant see any screenshots.... :)

I ran foul in the EPL too, I didn't realise that EPL regs state that it must be seated capacity, so I had a tin pot team that I had taken from the depths of BSS to the EPL and then wondered why my crowd size went backwards.

I found it very hard to complete and flagged it away soon after as the Board wouldn't bulge on stadium or facilities issues, and the non footballing costs were absolutely killing me.

I dont like the sound of that then, hopefully i dont get promoted and i'll try and make a lot of money next year by selling my stars.
It is definitely a hard one, while it is possible to get end on end on end promotions through careful financial management and recruitment, it doesn't pay off as you need the time in the middle to get the cash on hand to fund development and to get the Board onside.

And yes, if it means you need to sell your star striker because he wants too much in wages, or you think you can cash out for 15M, my advice would be to take it.

Then at least your Board would have money for expansions.
