FC Bayern hire May

Talented manager Adam May has joined FC Bayern Munchen from French league 1 winners Lille after Jupp Heyncks' contract expired. Bayern's board stated they were delighted to have someone of May's calibre managing the team.
May left his first job in management, Lille after a very successful 3 year period where he won the league 3 consecutive times and also winning the first ever Champions League in the clubs history. In the latest press conference, May said that although he loved working at Lille the opportunity to work at such a big club was too hard to say no and that the job was a dream come true and he couldn't wait to get started.
I will also be managing the French national team at the same time, the year is 2014 so the world cup is fast approaching.

2014 World Cup Underway

While all my players are on holiday, I will be travelling across to Brazil to join up with my France squad ahead of our world cup campaign. The French FA have told me they were not happy with our performance in the European qualifying as we only made it through by the play-offs with our 4-0 demolition of Denmark. I was annoyed at this as we only placed behind Spain. Anyway, we have been drawn in a group with Norway, Iran and Chile. I feel this is a very easy group and expect us to come first easily.

End of the group stages

A brilliant start to the world cup with us winning all our games and only conceding one goal in 3 games.
The results and goal scorers were as follows:

France v Chile 2-0
Nasri
Griezmann

France v Norway 2-1
Nasri (2)

France v Iran 3-0
Sakho (2)
Griezmann

End of the group stages

The results from the group stages are complete with France finishing top of our group with the full 9 points.
The other groups went as follows: (Cant get the link working)

Group A : 1st Brazil 2nd Japan
Group B : 1st Portugal 2nd Paraguay
Group C : 1st I.Coast 2nd England
Group D : 1st Germany 2nd Argentina
Group E : 1st Italy 2nd Scotland
Group F : 1st France 2nd Norway
Group G : 1st Spain 2nd South Africa
Group H : 1st S.Korea 2nd Romania
Nice story, but could you post your French squad, and maybe the attributes of your best 3 players?
As you wanted me to tell you what I think, I will do so:

- I am not emotionally invested in the story so far because I don't really know how it began. 2-3 slides about your time at Lille would've been fantastic. If you want me to assume we are just starting out in Munich, no harm done. Forget the first point.
- You could post who you think your major players for the French World Cup campaign would be and monitor their progress throughout the tournament. (For example: Nasri still goalless - I would hate to drop him but he is just not up to the mark).
- Screenshots: I haven't seen a lot of Sakho and would love to see what his stats are like. I could easily go to FM and check him out, but you could inform the lazy readers (like myself) by posting a screenshot.

Of course, I'm sure your story will get detailed when you go back to club football, so I will be reading.

Here is a screenshot of the formation I am using and my 23 man squad:

So far the 3 players that have stood out in our recent games have to be:

Hugo Lloris (GK) Hugo has conceded 1 goal in 3 games and has been consistently turning in good performances.

Samir Nasri (AMC)Samir has scored and created at least a goal in every game and has been outstanding recently.

Antoine Griezmann (AML) This young winger's recent performances have been so good that Franck Ribery is getting little game time.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it. I wanted to write a story without starting another save so I started when I got the Bayern job and spoke about the world cup, I will post in more detail about my club as the world cup isn't a major part of my story and didn't want to dwell on it for too long. I will put up screenshots of my key players soon.

Chase begins for Santos star

Back in Germany and with only Gomez up front, we desperately need another quality striker and with Neymar currently considering a new contract offer, now was the perfect time to bid. The transfer season has not officially started yet so I do not know what funds I will be given to spend. In other transfer news, Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic has joined us on a free transfer.
The only player leaving the club for now is left back Diego Contento for 3.5 million pounds.
Nikica Jelavic:

World Cup 2nd round drawn

The 2nd round of the 2014 world cup has drawn France with Scotland, with France being expected to win. Favourites Spain have been drawn against Romania and fierce rivals England and Germany have been drawn together.

Meanwhile, back in Europe, having scouted Neymar very positively, I feel that we will be making a bid for him in the fast approaching transfer season.
Another of my striker prospects, Carlos Tevez is out of contract with Manchester City and having failed to play a game for the first team in three years I was not expecting his agent to be demanding 185,000 pounds a week. I immediately walked away, still hoping on finding a new striker.

France through to Quarter-final

France 4 - 0 Scotland

Griezmann (2)
Briand
Graham Dorrans

Another two goals for Antoine Griezmann as he continues to shine for France. We controlled the game throughout and deserved the win. Yet another clean sheet for France star Hugo Lloris as France reach the quarter finals.

Elsewhere there were victories for England, Spain and Brazil.

France shock Spain in quarter final

Being drawn against favourites Spain I was expecting to be leaving the competition early but outstanding performances from Karim Benzema and Hugo Lloris defeated Spain in a match that eventually cost Guardiola his job.
France 2 - 0 Spain
Benzema (2)
Mamadou Sakho has been outstanding recently and his average rating of over eight reflects this. He has been having a great world cup and I am looking at signing him as my Bayern side are lacking quality at the back.
Mamadou Sakho:
this pretty good hope you achieve something with france :)

Thanks, me too. Even though we aren't favourites to win with our current form and having beaten Spain I think we can at least expect a place in the final.

France through to World cup final

France are through to the world cup final at the expense of host nation Brazil as Benzema shines.
A man of the match performance from striker Karim Benzema leads us into the 2014 World cup final against Portugal.
France 2 - 0 Brazil
Hulk
Jimmy Briand

Yet another clean sheet for Hugo Lloris, he hasn't conceded a goal since our win against Norway, meanwhile good form continues for star players Benzema, Nasri and Griezmann.
Karim Benzema:
