If you did the same sort of thing at Liverpool where you poached the classy players, I was just wondering how much that cost you and whether you had a mind for doing the same thing here....

#61452 Glenn T : #61402 Kiwi :
How much did you have to pay in compo for the privilege though?

#61370 Glenn T :
Yes I did, and nope. The U18s at Liverpool were all hand-picked by me, so they won the U18 league every single time...

What do you mean mate?
you probably should have kept adebayor and/or jermaine defoe. both are top quality premier league strikers

Each U18 player cost about 1-5million... bought about four-five of them every year.
I've managed to convince Luka Modric to stay... for now.
You could maybe ask Modirc to recommend a player or coach and sign them, that may strenghen your relationship with him; he is un-replaceable. As for Van der Vaart you could replace him if needed, he gets injured quite abit and lots of players are as go ot better, I like Willian Borges da Silva from Shakhtar but not sure what he's like on the update. Good Luck gonna a tuff first half of season with all the changes, make the most of pre-season.
Pre-season
Not very good results, but wins are wins and I'll take them anytime.
Transfers in
Emmanuel Adebayor (Man City, Loan Fee 1.3 million)

Dimitar Berbatov (Man Utd, 5 million)

Taking advantage of how these two players wanted game time at their clubs but couldn't get much of it, I signed both of them - one on loan and one permanently. Adebayor comes to the club on loan for one season on the back of a fairly successful loan spell at Real Madrid and Berbatov comes for a bargain 5 million to his former club.
After holding talks with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a possible sale of Rafael van der Vaart, it looks like the Dutch midfielder will stay at Spurs for the season. I declared I would only accept an offer of 20 million after hours of haggling. The PSG board were only willing to pay 15 million or 10 million with add-ons, but I rejected them flatly.

Van der Vaart hasn't declared a desire to leave Spurs for PSG, so at the moment he's staying.
i think its a good move to keep VDV as prior to this you have been quite happy to let players go for such minimal prices.

Carlo Cudicini has been off-loaded to Benfica.

Spurs will play Maribor, a club that plays in the Slovenian league, in a Europa League Qualifying match.
I have rejected a 3 million bid for promising defender Steven Caulker from Manchester United, who are looking towards Caulker to replace their aging Rio Ferdinand. Caulker will definitely play a part in Spurs' push for European glory and I don't want to sell him off to United for such a price.
Transfers in
Daniel Schwaab (Leverkusen, Loan Fee 800k)

A German right-back at the age of 22, Schwaab joins us at Spurs after Leverkusen manager Sami Hyypia felt the need to loan him out - a decision I'm rather puzzled with. Some of Leverkusen's players have already come out and voiced how they thought Schwaab shouldn't be farmed out on loan, but anyway their loss is my gain and I have a decent back-up for Kyle Walker for the season. I have no intention of getting him permanently though, as once he returns to Leverkusen, my new signing, 18-year-old Brazilian right-back Wallace will join the club and replace him.
I have already rejected four bids from Manchester United for Steven Caulker... they are offering more and more with every bid, I probably have to declare a high acceptable fee for him to leave to discourage Ferguson.
The transfer window drags on as we come into August... Real Madrid makes a bid of 23 million for Luka Modric... rejected!

Gareth Bale is also linked very strongly with Manchester City and I am bracing myself for a bid I will most probably reject.

I want to keep as many of my star players as possible.
My first competitive game managing Tottenham will be against Swansea in the Premier League.
