I don't really think I have commented here yet, so here I am.
Good win, but who dominated possession? Should you have won it in normal time, or were you lucky to go through? How does the board expect you to do in this competition? *Too many questions*
Hey, all the best. I really hope you make it to the EPL with Walsall, it's a unique story.

I think you might be posting too much information for each individual match. You may want to post some quicker updates and less info on each individual match. It's a good start, though.

Possession was 50% v 50%

Expectation for League Cup, atleast second Round

F.A Cup: get into third round

So should I change to doing monthly updates instead then with my opinion about how the month went and stuff?
No, do your thing, do your style :) Whatever you feel comfortable with and whatever you enjoy. I'm just offering suggestions. If you do one game per post, your story is likely to move really slowly and some people might lose interest.
I do understand what you're saying Gurdit, maybe a little change to my Blue Moon Rising story and go for montly updates instead of doing post by post as this can take me alot of time to do and I may lose interest faster.

League Cup Second Round

10.08.11

Walsall drawn against East Midlands and Championship side Nottingham Forest at The Bescot Stadium, tie to be played on the 23.08.11

This is going to be a solid game as they are a tough team to face, but hoping we can get through to the Third Round and get a home tie against a Premier League team that can bring some extra income.
Good luck with your story, will be following.

August Update

Npower One

Walsall 3 Wycombe Wanderers 0
Scorers: Afobe,Ricketts,Macken

A good opening for the start of the campaign, with debut goals from Afobe and Ricketts secured 3 points for the Saddlers

League Cup Round One

Rochdale 0 Walsall 0
Walsall win 6-5 on penalties

With this going back and forth all match nobody could seem to sneak in a late goal, so was decided by penalties and I was glad to come out winners in this, but would of prefered to of the match outright.

Npower League One

Walsall 2 Rochdale 2
Scorers: Walsall- Afobe,Butler Rochdale- Sadler(og),Akpo-Akpro

A fair result with yet again equal possession all through the match, couldnt pick a team to win this game, yet another goal from young Arsenal Benik Afobe to notch up another goal on his tally.

Npower League One

Leyton Orient 3 Walsall 7
Scorers: Orient- Cureton(2),Taiwo Walsall- Afobe(4),Grigg,Mantom,Cuthbert(og)

A very dominating against Orient, I was very surprised with the amount of goals happening in this match with 5 goals happening within the first 30minutes of the match, but a well deserved 3 points to move me further up the table and also to add another 4 goals to Benik Afobes goal tally to take it to 6 goals for the season, he is a real gem and is opening up the of teams who we should beat.

Npower League One

Sheffield Wednesday 0 Walsall 2
Scorers: Walsall- Afobe,Hurst

A surprise win against the candidates, we went into this match as underdogs and I never thought this would be the outcome, a debut goal from Kevan Hurst help wrap up the win, with yet another goal from Afobe to make it his 7th Walsall goal of the , if he keeps scoring likes this then he could pick up the top goalscorer award come end of the season. With this win it only takes me 1 point from 1st place.

League Cup Round Two

Walsall 0 Nottingham Forest 3
Scorers: Forest- Cohen,Derbyshire,Reid

A game I knew we would have no chance of at all, was totally dominated all match and we had no chance of even getting a goal, Nottingham Forest were deserved winners.

Npower League One

Walsall 2 Bournemouth 1
Scorers: Walsall- Ehmer,Afobe Bournemouth- Malone

A good win against yet another Promtion hopeful in AFC Bournemouth with another debut goal from onloan Max Ehmer, and another goal from Afobe to take it to 8goals so far

Npower League One

Huddersfield 2 Walsall 0
Scorers: Huddersfield- Pogba,Novak

With this loss against another hopeful this ended in a 2-0 win to them and gave me my first loss of the season.

All in all this month has been very good with only 2 losses in the month..

#62152 Walsall_Craig : Recently asked for a Parent Club and this is what my Chairman brought forward
    Newcastle United
    Southampton
    Tottenham Hotspur

who should I pick?

I'd go for Spurs as I think they have better youngsters than Newcastle or Southampton. Likes of Harry Kane etc
