A very embarrassing 4-1 loss to the USA, and a bad start for me in my short-term position as Great Britain boss. Although it's only a friendly, the boys need to buck up. Chris Smalling also suffered a small injury and will be out for a couple of days, but his situation is worth monitoring and I do not think I will call up a replacement.

Olympics: Group A

Great Britain qualify for the Olympics Quarter Finals with wins over Australia U23s and Ivory Coast U23s shadowing a 1-2 loss to Mexico U23s.

We finish 2nd in the qualifying table.

Spain are brushed aside as Great Britain U23s continue their rampage towards Olympic gold.

Olympics: Semi Final

Goals from Sturridge, Rooney and Ashley Young help us to the Final of the Olympics where we will face Brazil U23s, who have had a stunning time in the tournament like us, as well as a brilliant team.

Olympics: Final

Great Britain U23s and Gary Neville have clinched their Olympic Gold with a brilliant 4-2 win over Brazil U23s. Wayne Rooney was the star of the show, bagging four goals against the Brazilians as the British came back from 1-0 down to win the game superbly.

After the match, Neville spoke to Sky Sports.

"Manchester United are a great club, and they are lucky to have a player like Wazza," said Neville. The former United captain manages Malaga and coincidentally United played Malaga in a pre-season friendly match last week, a match taken over by Malaga assistant manager Tony Coton with Neville out of the country. Los Boquerones won the game 1-0 through a penalty.

"Wazza is the type of player who can create a goal out of nothing."

Congratulated by the journalists on winning the Olympics with Great Britain, Neville replied, "yeah well, I am delighted to have won my first trophy as a manager. But I am also happy that I can now return to Spain and focus on club business with Malaga."

This will signal the end of the Great Britain team until the forseeable future, with the English Football Association yet to decide if the same team will play in Rio 2016.

Neville is back in Spain as transfer business continues

Neville was spotted back in Spain earlier today and just a few hours after that, we have had another signing confirmed by Malaga. 19-year-old Argentine Damien Martinez has been signed on a free transfer from Arsenal, joining former teammate at Arsenal Ignasi Miquel at La Rosaleda. Martinez is expected to be a reliable backup to fellow countryman Wilfredo Caballero this season, alongside Jesse Joronen.

Versatile Portuguese winger Eliseu has been sold by Malaga to Deportivo for 2 million. Spanish winger Joaquin has also been sold to make room for extra funds. This leaves the Malaga team with little to no wingers at the moment and Neville is sure to bring in some wingers over the coming days.

From blue to blue: De Bruyne arrives

Malaga have wrapped up a 6 million deal for Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne from Chelsea. The Blues, who failed to give De Bruyne even one chance with the first-team has decided to let the 21-year-old go after his complains of the lack of first-team opportunities. He can play as a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder, as well as a winger on both flanks - proving his versatility.

The pre-season friendlies are completed, all of which my trusty assistant Tony Coton was in charge of. Bring on the new season!

Breaking: Argentine duo pen new contracts

Star striker Javier Saviola and vice-captain Martin Demichelis have both signed new contracts with Malaga, with Saviola extending his contract to 2014 and Demichelis to 2015. Both players are 30 and 31 respectively.

More youth as Neville brings in Newell

Malaga have completed a 1 million deal for Peterborough's highly-rated 19-year-old Joe Newell. The Englishman, who started his football career at Birmingham before joining Peterborough in 2009, had a training ground bust-up with Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson and was allowed to leave the Championship club. Newell will wear the No 20 shirt and is the third Englishman to join the club this summer after James Ward-Prowse and Matthew Lowton.

Danny Wilson has been recalled by Liverpool after a defensive injury crisis.

Digne joins Malaga

19-year-old French left-back Lucas Digne has joined Malaga from Lille on a 5 million deal today. Digne was popular among his former club's supporters and has said he will "miss Lille but is looking forward to the challenge of Malaga".

Well, it is the end of the transfer window, and here is my transfer business. Very good, and I feel I have rebuilt the squad into one that can challenge for the La Liga title. High expectations? We shall see...
