PLAYERS OUT:
I have also decided to sell Niklas Moisander (Defender) as he only had 1 year left on his contract and wanted more money than I was willing to offer.
Moisander re signed for Ajax in 2012 making 26 appearances. Previously he had never made any appearances with the club in his early days during 2004 - 2006.
I had a meeting with the player and told him if he wasn't prepared to sign a new deal I would have to sell him to make sure we didn't lose him for free. He wasn't happy but about the situation but if he wont agree a deal then there is nothing more I can do about it.

Sold for: £4.2 million to German First Division side Mainz.

Also I have sold Ajax Reserves player (Tobias Sana - 24 years old) to Dresden for £1 million. He was never going to break into the first team so it was good business.

Already this summer we have made a profit on transfers of £9.5 million.

Our Youth team manager has assessed the young players and has singled out Elzinga as the rising star out of the under 19s. I have added him to the first team for pre season.



Fixtures and results:


For both pre season games in Australia we stuck with our (4-3-3) formation. Against Brugge we used (4-4-2 diamond) which worked well so we will work on that 1 over the course of the season. Against Anderlecht and Chelsea we were back to (4-3-3). We rotated the squad in all games to try and even out the playing time.

Elzinga becomes youngest ever Ajax player:

I have sold goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer to West Ham for £5.5 million. He told me he needed another challenge and with West Ham and a few others interested I decided to take advantage after alreading signing Perin on a free transfer.
