I have recently started a new save at Ajax. For some weird reason, my board decided to bring Coleman in from Everton. I have bought Marco Rojas from Melbourne Victory from 2.8M, good young talent and one for the future I think. I also signed Cosmin Matei but because of a work permit complication I can only loan him out.
Good story & well done going undeafeated! I have been playing with Ajax for a while and have just kicked off my 3rd season. The youth setup is great as I have just had a wonderkid striker emerge in this year's batch of youngsters, but prior to that some interesting midfielders to develop too.
You do start with a lot of young dead wood though as they have a huge overall squad IMO. I couldn't hold onto Alderweireld as Arsenal unsettled him and he wanted to leave in my season 1 pre-season. Out of the starting players Eriksen has been amazing (playing as an Advanced Playmaker in Centre MID - loads of assists!),Van Rhijn got slotted in as DR (with wingback tendencies) and was versatile enough to quickly adapt to that position and become a "natural" there. For me Siem De Jong has been a prolific goalscorer as a Complete Forward. I have rotated Fischer and Sigporsson in the other striker role - both scoring a lot too.
I have won the league twice and cup once in 2 seasons. Best Champions League run was season 2 when we got out of the group (defeating AC Milan and Celtic twice) to play Man City. Drew the first game 2-2 then lost 3-2 away arrrgh!
Inspirational signings have been : Vlad Chiriches, Nicolae Stanciu (as ML!!), Agustin Allione (MR) & Lucas Romero (BWM). Scouting alot of South Americans but keen to bring on the Ajax youth too.
