Haven't really been playing him, Benteke and Bent have been too good to drop and they have stayed fit and injury free. So with Benteke being suspended, I had to play him up top and he did well. Probably keep him in for cup games and see how he does.

Villa draw 1-1 away to Huddersfield in an uncharacteristic cup lapse in their F.A. Cup fifth round tie.

BATE visit Villa Park in the Europa League and it's back to business as usual despite an early scare.



Villa lose Darren Bent to a calf strain which means he will miss the Capital One Cup final with Stoke.

Villa travel to Belarus to finish the job after a 4-1 first leg win at Villa Park. In typical Connolly confidence, Darren Bent, Ron Vlaar, David Ospina, Neal Eardley, Victor Wanyama and Fernando Gago are rested.

Raul Albiol opened the scoring with a thumping header before Alex Hleb levelled for the home side.

N'Zogbia headed Villa 2-1 up but Hleb's second in injury time levelled the match on the night but Villa advance 6-3 on aggregate.



Villa are drawn with Russian side Rubin Kazan in the last 16.

How much would you actually be willing to let him go for? Do you really rate him that much?

Would have to be upwards of £25m!! He's brilliant at CB and LB, at full back he's scored 4 and set up 8 this season and AR is 7.10 so far... He's going no where if I can help it!!
