August 2013 Update

Overall, a very good start to life in the Blue Square Bet Premier. First of all, below is the results of the matches played.

We were undefeated after 6 round of matches, collecting a whopping 14 points out of the possible 18. The team have been playing really well and they totally exceeded my expectation. As a result, we were sitting on the high-end of the league table :D

We were 2nd tied on points and goal difference with league leader Cambridge. I would be really pleased if the league table stay like this come the end of the season but there is still a long way to go.

Man of the Month:

Kevin 'the Beast' Beauvue

The fact that his name nearly spelled 'beast' came as a nice coincidence with his beastly performance so far. He was signed the day before the 1st match of the season. Lacking match fitness after coming in as a free agent, it doesn't affect his performance as he storm his way through on goal on countless occasions amassing 6 goals in the 1st 4 matches. I was hoping that he will lead our front line and the early signs are that he was taylor-made for the job.

That's it for August 2013 update. Stay tuned guys :)
loved reading this. makes me want to try a real llm game after usually doing 1-2 leagues below top. very very nice results btw. some real bargain shopping on display as you revamped your squad two yrs in a row haha. best of luck and keep updating!

Thanks man. You should have a go at LLM since I am having an absolute fun with my current save. I was really lucky with my signings so far and hopefully the luck keeps coming my way :)

September 2013 Update

Life is good so far in the Blue Square Bet Premier

We did not have the best possible start in September. I probably should have seen this coming, with the team ending August in two consecutive draws, we went for another three matches without a single win and even worst tasting our first defeat of the season to our fierce rival, Forest Green. Here are the results of our September fixtures:

After the poor run of results, i gave the team a little morale lifting talk. Main man, Kevin 'the Beast' Beauvue was give a little chat, more like a vocal slap on his face asking him to get his form back. The lads response were fantastic. 5 consecutive wins later and we were on top of the league. Not bad eh?

Man of the Month:

No guessing, its him again. Kevin 'the Beast' Beauvue. After a poor start to the month, he came back firing on all cylinders scoring 6 goals making it 12 in total so far for the season. I am starting to regret my decision to include a 1k bonus should he grab 30 goals this season.

That is it for September 2013 update. Stay tuned guys :)
Have been following this story closely as I'm from Australia but have family living in Bath. Hopefully you can put the city back on the map! Loving it so far!

thanks mate :) I went to Bath once and fall in love with its unique Roman-esque architecture, hence decided to use Bath for my story :D
You're doing wonders with Bath, my friend! :P

Thanks mate. Frankly, I did not expect us to be doing this well but now I am hoping for a consecutive promotion really badly! :D

Struggling for Form in October 2013

Not a good month...

The heading says it all. After storming our way in the Blue Square Bet Premier so far, October came as a huge reality slap on our face. And that slap hit us really badly.

Considering our performance prior to the month, 1 win in 7 matches was unacceptable. Our free scoring strikers suddenly forgot how to score. Kevin 'the not-so-beast' Beauveau lost his scoring boot all together. 7 points out of the possible 21 were all that we managed to bag and we lost our grip on top of the league.

Luckily, none of the title rivals were exactly on form too. The team on top of the table is still within a reachable 4 points distance. I am ambitious, I won't settle for anything less than a promotion fight after realizing that we are fully capable of having a real go at the title. A drastic improvement is due and so does the 'hairdryer' for some of the lads.

Man of the Month:

???

None. They were all pussies all of a sudden.

Hoping for a better November. Stay tuned :)

November-December 2013 update

A great end to 2013...

We were struggling for form really badly in october. A team talk was organized in an effort to bring back our team to their previously impressive form. That proved to be a great move as we managed put in some impressive performance in November and December.

We even managed to hold on to a 7 match unbeaten performance to keep our title hope alive. The strikers started scoring again, and the young Jacob Gibson in particular seems to finally found his feet in this team with some impressive showings.

As a result, managed to cut off the four points difference from the top of the table to just 3 points, with one game in hand.

I am glad that the lads have responded well with the team talk to help us approach the new year in impressive form. Hopefully, we'll be able to keep the good form for the 2nd half of the season.

Man of the Month:

Kevin Beauveau

The beast is back! Scoring and creating goals. Leading the Bath frontline in an impressive manner. I spoke to him personally in October after the loss in form and he responded in the best possible fashion. Adding another 6 goals to his tally which include two stoppage time goals which proved the difference in both matches.

And finally, a really good year ended in the best possible way for me :)

January is coming and the transfer window is back open on the next update. Stay tuned guys! :D

1,000 views!!! Thanks Guys! :D
Never mind October because you are still challenging for top spot and that's all that matters!

Cheers mate. I really want the title very badly and will be really gutted if we missed out on it since that is the only automatic promotion place available. I've never really did well in play-offs in the previous FM and I have a bad feeling that the omen is still with me :(

January 2014 Update

Here it comes, the new year! and new faces too! January marked the opening of the winter transfer window. I did some signings and will talk about it later. First of all, the ongoing title push that we are in.

Fixtures & Results:

Despite of the 3 straight losses (1 in FA Trophy Cup), we actually did quite well and most importantly, better that the other teams in the league. Started the month in the best possible manner by trashing arch rival, Forest Green. 15 points out of the possible 21 saw us make our way to the top of the league.

League Table

Hopefully it will stay this way come the end of the season. And for the 2nd consecutive months...

It is always nice to win the Manager of the Month award and winning it twice in a row really keeps me motivated.

Man of the Month:

There was no particularly outstanding player in January. The whole team is doing well and they actually took turn to impress me. Kevin Beauveau is always there and about, Dan Thompson form shows that he is becoming a more crucial member in the squad while Ben McKenna is improving at his newly trained position at WBR.

Signings:

I managed to sign a couple of players, both are great prospect and should they fulfill their potential, will turn into a good league one players. The two players were:

A former Manchester City youth team player, the 17 years old is a prospective deep lying playmaker with good work rate, passing and creativity. He was straightly loaned out to Farnborough in the BSS to further his development. I see him as a back-up to Tom Brown in the deep lying playmaker role next season as Marc Canham is expected to see out his contract.

17 years old Irish regen found by scout, Chris Lundekvam. He was also sent on loan to Histon in the BSN immediately after signing for us. I view him as a replacement for club captain, Gethin Jones, who is expected to leave next season.

And finally, a marquee signing....

Adds to the growing Manchester City influence in the club, Scapuzzi will provide another option for me in attack and in the advance playmaker role as we really lack quality cover if Ibrahim Farah succumb to injury.

That is it for January 2014 update. Thanks and stay tuned :)
You're "Bath"ing in glory now! :P Great for you to get back on top :)
