February - March 2014 Update

A two horse race with Cambridge...

There were only 2 matches played in February, so I've decided to include it together with the March update. Throughout the 2 months, we managed to keep our run of good form but for a couple of bleak performance.

Results & Fixtures:

7 wins and a draw in 9 matches is an excellent feat. But our title rival, Cambridge, was running ragged. They won all of those 9 matches and pipped us to the top of the league.

League Table:

As you can see, the team on 3rd place is currently 10 points behind. It is safe to say that this is a two horse race for the league title. With 4 matches to go, a thrilling end to the season awaits.

Meanwhile, March in England means a new intake of youth. While last year's batch provides me with the promising Gary Parry, this year's batch was a total disappointment.

Next update should provide you with the Final League table, so stay tuned :)

2013-2014 Season End Update

Bath City FC fall short...

And finally, the thrilling season ends. The heading probably gives you the hint of what to expect in this post. Let's cut to the chase and below are the results and standings.

Results & Fixtures:

League Table:

The first two matches in April decided the league title. We fail to deliver in those matches and Cambridge wrapped up the title in the very next game. I am really gutted with the results as we've been playing really well throughout the season. Especially when the team in 3rd place is some 10 points behind.

Anyways, the league standings means that we were due to meet fierce rival Forest Green in the 1st round of playoff.

Updates on playoff coming up next. Stay tuned guys :)

1st Leg @ The New Lawn

Match Stats

We did well to held Forest Green to a draw. We were playing rather poorly and are actually lucky to come away with the result.

2nd Leg @ Twerton Park

Formation

Match Stats

A balance match where both teams were really canceling each other out. In the end of the day, they took their chances and we did not. Really gutted to be knocked out this way and even worse when considering that we actually lead them by 15 points difference in the league.

It is ashamed that we get so close to the title yet stumble towards the end. Still, I am pleased with our first journey in the Blue Square Bet Premier. Promotion was never on the cards et we exceeded all expectations.

That's it for 2013-2014 season. Stay tuned guys :)
Hard luck man but I reckon you'll get it next year :)

yeah. really gutted, but I am all fired up for next season.
Wow :O Damn. I was expecting promotion from you but what's done is done :P keep going mate
Unlucky in not getting promo however nothing beats a nice long BATH and you'll be all fresh and clean and ready to go for next season.

2013/2014 Season Summary

Although a little bit disappointed at how the season end, we actually did really well beating all odds to finish 2nd instead of the predicted 17th place. So here is the season summary and awards.

Summary

We did excellently in the transfer market as seen in the signing of the season award which is both given to our players.

Top Scorer (League)

Despite his loss of form towards the end of the season, Kevin Beauveau manage to hold on to the Top Scorer award.

Bath Team of the Year

Bath's Fans' Player of the Year

Adam Adams...?

His parents must have been crack addicts :))

Blue Square Bet Premier 2014/2015

AIM: This season, I want nothing less than a promotion. After the end of season disappointment last term, I am confident that with minor reinforcement, we will be able to grab the automatic promotion place.

Transfer:

Two of last season's key players were offloaded. Rhys Taylor were asking for ridiculous wage for his new contract which only have one year left. So I've decided to offload him now rather than let him leave on a free. Kevin Beauvue, our star man was showing signs of declining. His lost of form towards the end of the season shows that and his attributes were decreasing dramatically as well. So, he was shipped off to league 1 side Crewe on a free to make way for a new striker.

Players Out:

Players In:

I was especially excited about this signing. Manucho, the former Man Utd and Hull striker and the man who scored 2 goals against Real Madrid (IRL) last weekend. He is seen as an upgrade to last season top scorer, Kevin Beauvue, hence the decision to ship him off.

The two centre backs will walk straight into the first team due to their current ability and potential ability. Both have the potential to be a good Championship CB. While Daniel Devine already is one of the best CB in the club, Robert Dickie will be given game time to develop his potential.

Rhys Taylor, despite his attribute and potential, never actually perform to the standard that I hope he would. Rodney Ubbergen is seen as a direct replacement and his attribute fits to the sweeper goalkeeper role that I am using.

A loan signing from Liverpool. The attacking midfielder will provide that extra bit of quality in the final third.

Our 2nd loan signing. Although his attribute is superior than our own defenders, will mainly be the 1st choice backup due to allow our players enough game time to develop.

The 3rd loan signing. Will play 2nd fiddle to Rodney Ubbergen

Overall, I am really pleased with my transfer dealings. Hopefully the signings will steer us to the league title

Pre-Season Friendly

An alright pre season. We managed to restrict higher rated Coventry and Cardiff to a 2-0 win and beat a West Ham Reserve which include Alou Diarra in midfield.
