Manchester United 1-0 São Paulo (Club World Championship Final)

On a surprisingly mild evening at Stade du Prince Moulay Abdallah, Manchester United had the honour of lifting the Club World Championship after Manchester United's 1-0 Club World Championship Final victory over São Paulo.

The first incident of note was on 65 minutes as Manchester United were denied claims by Danny Welbeck for a penalty. Flamboyant midfielder Ganso was left red-faced in the 72nd minute as he managed to put the ball into his own net.

Manchester United were carved open a number of times but despite the ability of their opponents to create chances, they struggled to put them away.

"...13 pts from a possible 21 including 3 back to back wins has put us in an excellent position. striker jon Cunliffe has stepped up to support our star man and top scorer Jon Wannell. Every club needs more than one main goal getter and now Cunliffe is just one goal behind Wannell on 9 goals. If we are still in reach of the top spot after the next five or so games, then we will have to become serious about achieving promotion."

Manchester United 1-3 Newcastle United (FA Cup 3rd Rnd)

Youth was no match for experience on a cold and clear winter's evening at Old Trafford as a young Manchester United team succumbed to a 3-1 (lost after extra time) defeat at the hands of a much more experienced Newcastle United side.

Striker Demba Ba gave Newcastle United the lead with a deftly executed finish in the 17th minute. Midfielder Alexander Büttner then equalised for Manchester United in the 24th minute with a placed shot.

An error from Manchester United's Phil Jones allowed striker Haris Vuckic to score a well struck effort from 21 metres. Midfielder Matt Phillips finally rounded off their victory on 102 minutes with a well struck effort which deflected in from 20 metres.

Chelsea 5-1 Manchester United (Premier League)

In what had been billed as a close encounter, Manchester United were trounced 5-1 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The highlight of the game was undoubtedly a superb hat-trick from Chelsea's Edinson Cavani.

Things did not get off to a good start for Manchester United as Chelsea captain John Terry seized on an error by André Ayew to score a diving header from within the six-yard box. An error from Manchester United's David De Gea allowed winger Fernando Torres to score a well timed finish from close range. Cavani scored with a clever lob over the keeper from 23 metres in the 21st minute to extend the lead further.

Cavani added his 2nd goal of the game with a deftly executed finish on 24 minutes. Striker Wayne Rooney pulled one back for Manchester United after 44 minutes with a nice effort from 11 metres.

An error from Manchester United's Shinji Kagawa allowed Cavani to score an accurate finish.

"...we just seem to be doing enough to get past in games and apart from an away defeat to Marine, we would have gotten a 100% game winning streak in our last 5 games. We now have to believe we are in with a chance of not only grabbing a playoff spot but may just win the darn thing. Our old boy Simon Garner is doing an impression of Frank Lampard at the moment with four goals in the last five, and this is the reason why we are joint top in 3rd with only 9 games remaining. The danger though is that all of the top 5 teams are separated by only 2 pts."

Manchester United 3-1 FC Barcelona (Champions League 1st Knockout Rnd)

Goal-friendly FC Barcelona suffered a 3-1 defeat against Manchester United on a wet evening at Old Trafford. These two teams gave us a thrilling final last year which saw United win a highly debateable 3-2 classic. This time there was no question to this result as Barcelona failed to live with the reds without their god the injured Lionel Messi.

Striker Wayne Rooney gave Manchester United the lead with a well timed finish from close range in the 20th minute. An error from FC Barcelona's Alexis Sánchez allowed Rooney to score a deftly executed finish. World class winger Eden Hazard gave the FC Barcelona fans a glimmer of hope after 65 minutes with a tap-in after running the reds ragged.

It was a superb solo effort and Hazard looked delighted. Rooney completed the scoring for Manchester United with an accurate finish on 79 minutes.

"...who can understand football? it's a strange old game. We have gone 32 matches without back to back defeats, then all of a sudden, the title run in sees us lose 0-2 twice in a row.the 3-1 against Workington saw us sit proudly at the top of the table then all of a sudden we suffer a massive nose bleed. Can we recover? I said early in the season this team lacks determined characters, well here's their chance to prove me wrong. We are ahead of schedule in challenging for the title, but since we are here then lets give it a bloody good go."

I am sorry to hear that James, you obviously have joined this story towards it's end. It's been suggested to me already to run the United results as a separate story. The end of the season draws nigh and then that will be addressed. The following was my very first post that begins this story.....
FOSEBALL
1 game 1 user 2 managers.
Wanted to begin an FM13 career as an Unemployed Manager with a "Sunday league" rep to see who would take me on and how far I could get in the game. Yet I also wanted to manage Man Utd due to my anger at how fergie in real life manages my favorite team. I'm fed up of him ignoring our need for a decent midfield and constantly relying on pensioners in a world of power and pace. here's my chance to show him how it's done, but which game should I choose? BOTH!
So in the same game I will be both a non league boss under one name then the boss of England's finest club side in another. For the United side of things I will only be posting results and achievements.

We catch up with this series at the end of season 2.

Ilkeston FC 2-1 Chorley FC (Northern Premier League)

Chorley FC were shorter by an average of 0'1" per player and were ultimately outmatched on the day at New Manor Ground, falling to defeat against their bigger foes.

The match began in controversial circumstances as Ilkeston FC were denied claims by Bradley Gascoigne for a penalty. Striker Michael Emmerson gave Ilkeston FC the lead with a powerful effort which blasted against the inside of the post before hitting the back of the net in the 22nd minute.

Midfielder Greg Morgan doubled Ilkeston FC's lead with a header on 58 minutes. Young midfielder Gary O'Neil's 70th minute strike proved the only consolation for Chorley FC.

Chorley FC 5-2 Hednesford Town (Northern Premier League)

Three goals from Jon Wannell saw Chorley FC move into Northern Premier League promotion contention after a 5-2 victory over title chasing Hednesford Town on a mild spring afternoon at Victory Park.

Young striker Brandon Moores got Hednesford Town off to a flyer by scoring a deftly executed finish on 8 minutes. Young striker Jon Wannell then equalised for Chorley FC in the 40th minute with a real poacher's effort from 15 metres.

Wannell then added his 2nd goal of the game with an attempt which went in off the frame of the goal on 50 minutes. Wannell added his 3rd goal of the game with an accurate finish on 52 minutes.

Experienced full-back Kieran Walmsley then added to the lead with a free kick from 29 metres on 59 minutes. Journeyman goalkeeper Steve Collis added to an already bad day at the office for Hednesford Town on 67 minutes when he managed to put the ball into his own net. An error from Chorley FC's Calvin Hare allowed Moores to score a well timed finish from close range. Things went from bad to worse for Hednesford Town as young midfielder Joshua Scully earned himself an early bath for persistent fouling on 91 minutes.

"...hopefully we have come out of our mini slump and face our last two games away to Droyslsden and Stafford. Both of these teams are at the bottom end of the table so we expect them to perform as Barcelona all of a sudden. Droylsden have never beaten us in 6 attempts but did hold us at home to a 0-0 draw. Another game like that and our title chances are over. As for Stafford Rangers, they have avoided the possibility of being relegated and our five games together have never ended in a draw. We have won 3 and they have won twice. Guisely are in pole position and must be favorites of winning this division for the second time in their history. They are home to Marine and away to Worksop and both are mid table teams with nothing to play for. How will Hednesford cope mentally after our thrashing of them? Who knows. However they are a big club of Blue Square stock and play against the 3rd and 2nd bottom teams in Stafford and Curzon. So they should really win this title. Ilkeston have never won a trophy in their history so I'm expecting them to bottle it even though they have easier games against Northwich and Ashton. Without doubt it has been an incredible season and it could come down to goal difference."

"...we blew it at Stafford after having a goal disallowed and also hitting the post. Fate conspired against us plain and simple. We now face Hednesford in the playoffs a team we recently beat 5-2 however that was our first and only win in six encounters, so we have our work cut out."

Chorley FC 0-2 Hednesford Town (Northern Premier League Pro. Playoff Semi Final)

"... all good things come to an end but this is a bitter pill to swallow as we had a two goal 1st leg lead. I wish Hednesford all the best in the final, they are a massive club and deserve their chance. we will lick our wounds and hope to come back stronger. With no money to bring players in and most players in the last year of their contracts we will be losing most of our players bar the ones I've signed. We look forward to a few talented youth we've managed to sign like Left Back Ethan Hoult, a skilful striker like Adam Gilbert, a Right Back in Phil Jones, and two incredible midfielders in Dylan Lockett amd the awesome Benjamin Dewar. We'd like to thank the fans and those who have followed our story this season and im off to soak up some sun on the beech before pre season."

Manchester United are celebrating a magnificent treble after beating Manchester City 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League Final at Millennium Stadium.

Manchester United have won the UEFA Champions League, European Super Cup and Club World Championship this season.

It is Manchester United's fifth Champions League triumph in their history, a feat that means the club now get to keep the coveted trophy.

On a fine summer's evening at the Millennium Stadium, Manchester United's Nemanja Vidic lived the dream of many a supporter as he lifted the Champions League after Manchester City's 0-1 UEFA Champions League Final defeat against Manchester United.

Manchester United's winner came through Wayne Rooney as he seized on Maicon's mistake to score a penalty.

Both teams had a number of attempts at goal, which promised much, but the quality of finishing was poor throughout.

Player of the Match: Chris Smalling (Manchester United)
Attendance: 72,500

The likes of Wayne Rooney and David De Gea were key to the English league runners-up's remarkable success this season, with 28 goals from Rooney in all competitions and a series of superb performances from De Gea.

This victory has erased the heartbreak of blowing a 3pt lead with 3 games remaining which saw City Lift the Premiership on goal difference. The 0-1 home defeat to Southampton is now a distant memory.

Are you reading Fergie? It's amazing what can be achieved with midfield signings. BALE, SANDRO and AYEW is all that was needed.
