INS & OUTS
After a brief meeting with chairman Mike Garlick we eventually agreed on a transfer budget of
9 million with 200k for wages. If I’m being honest I would have liked a little bit more to spend but it is what it is and we have to crack on with the job at hand. Here’s what I achieved:=
Wilfred Zaha

I've been a big admirer of Zaha for a long time and he has always been the first player I wanted to sign. He commanded a huge transfer fee -
5.75 million to be exact, that's two thirds of my whole budget but he's going to be worth it now and in many seasons to come. One day I can see him being an England regular.
Paul McShane

Paul joins us from Hull on a
free transfer which is a steal. He is perfect back up for our defence and I’m sure with the ability he possesses he could quite easily break into the first team, only time will tell.
Alan Tate

I'm delighted I could bring Alan back to Burnley but this time on a permanent basis. He was key last season in our promotion and I hope he can be key this season keeping us up. The best part is his transfer fee for a mere
1.1 million - bargain.
Rodney Strasser

Rodney joins us on a
free transfer after being released from AC Milan last season. The Sierra Leone international will provide healthy completion for Chris McCann and David Edgar in centre midfield.
Vito Mannone

Vito comes on a season long loan deal from Arsenal and will fight for the number one jersey with Lee Grant. It was essential I brought in another keeper after releasing Brian Jensen on a free transfer.
Tomas Necid

With our current formation we only use one forward which at the minute is the irreplaceable Charlie Austin. However Tomas joins us from CSKA Moscow on a
season long loan and will be trying his best to dethrone Charlie as Burnley’s star striker.
Transfers out
First of all I would like to say goodbye and good luck to Brian Jensen, Michael Duff and Martin Paterson who I all sadly let go on a free transfer. They have all been great servants to the club and will go down as legends in these parts but unfortunately as our Premiership adventure begins they are not in my plans so sacrifices had to be made. Other notable departs are Keith Treacey, Sam Vokes and Danny Lafferty who all leave for a combined fee of 2.5 million.
