If you were a player?

I did this somewhere else and I know we don't have knowlage of it like Red does but If It could happen This is what I would do:

pos: RM/CF

I would start my Career at Darlington F.C my home club (16-17 although I am slightly younger now), trying to get them promoted guarenteed that it would take about a season or two. I would try to keep them up in the first season then move.

To Motherwell or Aberdeen in the SPL to get reconised by the media at top flight football, and try to break the top two's dominance over about 3 years until a good offer came through. So at (23) I would move to........

France to Bordeaux to meet some players who have player for super clubs e.g David Bellion. Again I would try my best to overcome Lyon's dominace but probably fail despite how many seasons I stayed. Although trying to catch others attention by geting plenty of man of the matches and player of the year in fance. I would probably enter the international stage now, for England starting as a sub. At the peak of my career maybe (26), I would move to.....

Either Manchester United or Juventus two of my favorite teams. I would play my heart out with the current legends, trying to break into the first team and making myself a known name across the world. While increasing my international status to first team player at (28.) At 29 In international standards I might become vice-captain. Plus stick woth United or Juve for 5 years until I became a minor player. So to play out most of my days I would take a step down to.......

The Columbus Crewto help the club get reputation, after about 2 and a half years when my career was wanning down. In international status I would retire at 33 if they hadn't booted me out first, and before my 35th Birthday.....

I would go back to Darlington F.C for 2 years, to etablish myself as a Loyal and respectfull player, playing just within my depth, and giving the club back the memories they saw at other clubs. Then Retire at 37-38 years old

Then I would become...........................

lol I could continue and will since I am bored.

a assistant manager at Bordeaux since I am known there, after gaining much reputation (42) , I would manage.....

Celtic as again being known in the SPL again for a couple of year trying to dominate the league until I was (48.), then I would travel to.......

Either Juve or Man Utd after a hiatus of about 2 years, depending on which one I played at. While wining the Champions League once I would retire a season after it

and be Chairman of Darlington F.C in a takeover bid at 67

Keep dreaming mate:):) Well since I'm here, I might say my dreams too...Well I played football from age of 7 till 14, when I broke my leg and I had to stop training...But lets just imagine what would happen if I haven't broke my leg...

I would play for Radnicki Kragujevac (my hometown team), and i was really promising, so at the age of 21 I would probably go to Partizan or some strong Serbian Superleague team but no Red Star, I would rather play for some mediocre team than Red Star. So lets suppose that Partizan buys me. I would play few years. Also I would play for Serbia U21 and senior team. So at the age of 25/26 I would be bought by some good European team like West Ham, Man City, Valencia, Newcastle, HOFFENHEIM, Leverkusen... i would never play for top european clubs because i would never be that good footballer. So to sum up... Radnicki, Partizan, West Ham, Partizan, (Serbia somewhere in the middle)... And I would probably stay in football, as a asist. manager or manager...And I would like to manage Partizan and Serbia...

I had dreams like that before, when maybe but just maybe I could reach them, now I just want to be an architect or designer...

Well not really, some times when weather changer it hurts, my leg healed good, i can play football but muscle got weakened after injury, and it is right leg so i can't shoot and run as I used to... I could play now, but I'm too scared that I will hurt it again and my parents don't want me to train. Leg broken in two places and open fracture ain't a small thing. I play football still but it's only for fun and with my friends...

And, but I hate to brag, but i was good, I was 14 and I played with guys that were 16, 17 or even 18 (that was exactly why I got hurt so bad, because older players couldn't stand that some kid was better than them, assholes)... I was fast and agile, I had a good and accurate shoots and long passes, and fine dribble, I played right winger. My coach was always telling me that I will become a good footballer, but shit happen...

barmy, i think you are in the perfect age for improving. i think you have enough maturity in yourself to be able to improve greatly. its all about training and playing and loving the sport. theres nothing else to it. i will never stop playing football thats for sure. and if you love football, keep loving it as much as possible.

football is a drug for me, i feel wonderful when i have played football. i just love it, i honestly dont care if people around me die. thats how much i love playing football.

its not about the money fame and such things that has destroyed the passion of the sport at the top level.

i see many teenagers just looking to be top footballers for the money and the fame.

success is something else, winning is part of the football of course. and i think we all have our dreams to be able to take a team to glory.

by the way barmy, dont waste a second on other things if you love football.

i mean school and education is a another thing. but apart from that if you love football you wont stop. simple as that.

if you feel that you will skip a day of football because you want to go out with your mates or go to a party. then you dont love football at all. just so you know in advance

i have seen a lot of people suddenly loose the 'passion' for football. if they even had passion. its just weird to see to be honest.

i cant honestly say how much i love football, i think you all know that by now. but if you love football half as much as i do then you are good =P

Da pa, i ja sam igrao sa svojim matorim, ali to je opet drugacije, njegovi drugari jesu me udarali ali nikad nisu hteli namerno da me povrede, to je vise bilo zezanje. A ovo je druga prica, neko jednostavno ne moze da podnese da ga klinja mrci do besvesti, da ga prolazi kao da je vazduh i da mu se publika i saigraci smeju posto ga klinja izu. Svi pricaju ono "vidi sta ti klinja radi". Znas i jednom tako, drugi put, treci, i ovaj popizdi, kaze "neces vise" i pokosi te sa strane i polomi ti nogu.

But back to reality, a year ago I stopped playing club football as I found the players round me who I had played with for 2 years some even upto 5 years turned into arrogant bigheads and decided to be a gloryhunter, now I'm not saying I wasnt but I had been told by my coach and feloow players I was the standout and had been for a lng time, I mean hitting 25 goals in 12 games and coupled with 15 assists isnt bad but I'm wondering? Shoud I go back or should I play for fun?

I played DM for Nk Graničar from Tučenik ( croatian 3rd league), i was ok. It's a semi-pro team and we got paid around 150-200€ per month + 25 per point won. This year in march i broke my left knee ligaments and i haven't played since.
p.s. i was a killer freekick taker.

Well i think i have said it earlier. If you love football you will never stop playing football.

I know how manny people around you at that age become arrogant and all. But its upto you to be able to fight that. Ignore that and just play your football.


Your only 15 and you got a much bigger chance than me.
Playing football for fun? i mean isnt playing football at any time fun?
I dont think you can miss out on the competitive side of the football. Your young, keep on playing and try to get better than you are. At the moment nobody can help you but yourself. Never give up mate never.

trust me later on in life you will regret it that you missed out on competitive football.
