Thank you very much. My aim is indeed to get to the top of world football again and then maintain it for the long term. It has been good fun being FC Barcelona so far so long may it continue. Thanks for reading.

I haven't quite set myself aims of what I want to achieve aside from getting FC Barcelona back to the top of world football which I guess means winning everything we compete for. I am finding the limit on how many foreign players you can have annoying but as I have only made one purchase during the transfer window it has had little effect on my squad.

Thanks for reading.
The draw has been made for the group stage of this season’s Champions League Draw and you can see the groups below.
This is being seen as the toughest group of them all. You would expect Real Madrid to qualify from this group but the interest will definitely be in which of the three remaining teams can get themselves into that important second place.
This has to be one of the duller groups of the Champions League this season. I am expecting big money spenders PSG to qualify alongside Porto.
This isn’t going to be the easiest group for Chelsea with difficult away trips to Udinese and Malaga. However, I would expect them to qualify with some ease but I cannot put my finger on who will be moving onto the next stage with them.
Could AC Milan have asked for an easier group? They should breeze through this group and win every game comfortably. I would quite like to see Anderlecht progress but who knows what will happen.
This is another group that is difficult to call. FC Bayern and Juventus should progress but I can’t see Celtic or Valencia lying down without putting up a fight. I will be keeping an eye on Celtic as I would love them to cause an upset in this group.
Manchester United, before even kicking a ball, have won this group with ease. They should dominate every single game and I expect Ajax or Benfica to progress with them.
This is the group that matters, the only one that matters. I am expecting my team to progress from the group stage with very little opposition. The only team that I think will put up any sort of fight is Shakhtar but I still expect the likes of Messi, Iniesta and Xavi to out pass and outperform them. The group is considered as an ‘easy’ one by the pundits but I will still be sending out my strongest team into every match, unless the team qualifies with games to spare.
This is a difficult group for Arsenal and they will have to perform well if they stand a chance of qualifying. Galatasary is a very difficult place to visit and with Zenit wanting to do well the Arsenal players will have to be on top form every minute of every game.

I didn’t intend on making any signings in my first season in charge of FC Barcelona but I have seen the huge hype around this player so I have decided to part with a very small transfer fee in order to bring him to the Nou Camp. He needs to come into the team and learn from the more experience players and I do intend on having him being tutored by one of the more experienced players. He will not be a first team choice and will rarely be used this season unless we are winning the game comfortably or have won a competition with games to spare. He is a player who has a bright future and I plan on nurturing him slowly but surely into the great player he could become.

What a fantastic start to the new season and the league campaign. I did end up feeling sorrier for Athletico Madrid as the game went on and my side kept putting the goals past them; I can’t even remember how they managed to get two consolation goals. It was disappointing to lose to Real Madrid but the cup had already been won by this point so I am not concerned by it. Bring on the next month of games

Player of the Month – Lionel Messi

Messi was in scintillating form from the first whistle of the new season. He has already put his stamp on the new LIGA BBVA season and if he continues in this kind of form it could turn into a record breaking season...again.

Thank you everyone for so far reading my story and helping me reach 500 votes already; especially as I only started it two days ago. I see that as an achievement. Any feedback is always appreciated but otherwise, just please carry on reading and enjoying.

Another perfect month with the team really starting to enjoy their football. The attacking potential in every game is unbelievable. I can quite confidently go into every game and my squad to outscore the opponents. I am going to have to be clever in my approach to games and allowing key players such as Messi a rest from time to time as it could potentially be a very long season.

Player of the Month – Alex Song

Song is a very versatile player and he can adapt to any position in which you play him. I feel that over the next couple of seasons he will become an integral part of the team especially with the likes of Puyol, Xavi and Iniesta surely not lasting too much longer. He put in a number of solid performances and rightly deserves the title of player of the month.
I am contemplating going back to my Liverpool FC: Back to the Past story and ditching this one. Any advice, feedback or general comments would help in me making my decision.

Thank you in advance guys!
No, keep this going, it's really good so far. Although, if you aren't enjoying it, leave it.
I'm very much enjoying this story James, keep it going! :)
I'm enjoying this too, would be a shame to see an end to it..
I'm enjoying this story as well, but if you want to go back to Liverpool, remember you are free to go back :P.
