clubs line up for distin even at around half a million but i agree getting rid of his wages is prudent. on the baines and fellaini situation i do agree that you are forced to sell one or the other. for me though fellaini after a good season can improve even further. i hope it works out though and you can push for Europe.
Everton hold on to draw despite early dismissal: Reading 0-0 Everton

Ryan Shawcross' 25 minute double booking hindered Everton who were forced to play the rest of the game largely outside their own penalty box. Reading saw their opportunity but were unable to find a way through the wall of Jagielka, Heitinga and Tim Howard, who between them kept the Royals at bay.

That's not to say that Jelavic didn't have opportunities, the Croatian hitman had 3 opportunities in a 3 minute period in the second half, but managed to find the arms of Federici twice before skying an almost goalline header moments later.

Travis said "I will be speaking to Ryan, although he had an earful at half-time and just before I came out here. He knows it was silly and unnecessary and he will be warned about future stupidity. But on the positive side, defensively we have the quality to be able to get points at places like this whilst a man down, and it was good to give Mason (Bennett) and Adryan their debuts."

Kids run show as Everton Progress: Colcheter 0-3 Everton, CO cup, Adryan, Green (2)

An attacking quartet with a combined age of just 66 stormed their way through Colchester to ensure Evertons Progression.

Mason Bennett made his first start for the club, with fellow youth prospects Ryan Gauld, George Green and Adryan playing in behind the pacey forward. It was Adryan who began proceedings with a deft finish from the edge of the area following clever build up play from Ross Barkley.

In the second half 16 year old Green made his mark, first turning in Seamus Coleman's cross with expertise well beyond his years, and then poaching after a superb run and pass from Mason Bennett.

Everton and Newcastle in thrilling draw: Everton 3-3 Newcastle

Everton and Newcastle played out a thrilling draw at Goodison park, a Demba Ba hattrick was enough to save the Magpies as they fell behind after twice leading.

A Darron Gibson penalty either side of 2 Demba Ba header's gave Newcastle a 2-1 lead before Drenthe latched on to a 60 yard Gibson ball to equalise on the stroke of half-time. Jelavic out the Toffees infront on 68 minutes only for a sliding block from Paolo Di Cegle to divert the ball into the excellent Ba's path for him to complete the scoring.

Everton sink Villa: Aston Vlla 0-1 Everton

Everton continued their unbeaten domestic side to the season, as a Leon Osman header doomed Lambert's Villa to defeat.

Following last weeks high scoring at Goodison, this was a tighter affair, with excellent defending from both sides limiting opportunitys, and substitute Osman's 74th minute header from a cross from Adryan was always going to be enough.

Fulham catch Everton cold: Fulham 2-0 Everton

An early goal from Brede Hangeland and a late one from Damien Duff saw off the challenge of Everton at Craven Cottage.

Not for the first time this season Everton werlo out of the blocks and duly punished when Dejagah's corner was turned in by Brede Hangeland after Berbatov's flick. Despite having more possession Everton's impotency in te final third proved pivotal as on a breakaway, Dejagah squared for Damien Duff to kill the resu

Brighton stun Everton Kids: Brighton 2-1 Everton CO Cup 3rd round

Everton's youth prospects got their first taste of defeat today as Brighton came from behind to take all the points.

Mason Bennett pounced on a Ryan Gauld cross to become Everton's youngest ever goalscorer, taking the recotd from George Green who scored twice in the last round. However Craig Mackail-Smith and Adam El Abd scored headers to condemn Eveton to an early exit. Travis however, didn't seem too disheartened.

"In all honesty, we were only using this competition to give the youngsters like Mason, Gauldy, George and Adryan a proper run out without any pressure to perform, so the exit isn't a big deal for me or the boys" Travis said in the post-match press conference
Naismith Double ensures fighting Draw: Chelsea 2-2 Everton

Everton were so close to victory at Stamford bridge until Juan Mata's late strike saved the blues.

Everton went behind to a John Terry header for Steve Naismith to level on 30 minutes. Naismith was then threaded through by Adryan to put the Toffees ahead, but Mata struck to save the day for the Blues.

Pienaar Travis bust up?

Reports from Goodison Park today seem to be indicating that Steven Pienaar and manager Joe Travis have had a dispute, and it could end with the former South African Internation heading for the exit door.

Pienaar 30, is said to have refused the opportunity to tutor Adryan, who Travis felt that Pienaar's experience could help nurture the talent of the young Brazilian. Adryan has turned may heads so far this campaign, and Pienaar's decision not to be a part of the young player's progress is baffling.

Steven Pienaar, who retired from International football last week to focus on his club career, could find that career at a new club as according to inside sources, Joe Travis may look to cash in on the versatile midfielder, as a result of his perceived unprofessionalism.

Naismith and Jelavic put United to bed: Everton 2-1 Manchester United

Two early strikes from Nikica Jelavic and Steven Naismith was enough to keep Manchester United at bay and secure Everton's first win in 4 games.

Jelavic opened the scoring in the third minute, pouncing on Nemanja Vidic's error, before Naismith ran through and guided past De Gea. Vidic's 31st minute header proved a mere consolation as Everton recorded a great result.
Everton 1-2 Stoke

Everton dominated this game from start to finish but were unable to break down stoke, who scored a late winner through Peter Crouch.

After a calamitous own goal, Nikica Jelavic levelled, from there Everton had numerous chances squandered by Jelavic, Naismith, Drenthe and co. Until Peter Crouch popped up in the 83rd minute on the break, to strike home from a suspiciously offside looking position.

Everton Smash Toffees at Boleyn Ground: West Ham 0-4 Everton

Everton were superb in their demolition of West Ham. The Toffees led 1-0 at the break as Steven Naismith swept home a cross from Gibson. It was Gibson who scored on the hour mark, a trademark shot from a cleared corner. Jelavic ended the contest in the 76th minute with a glancing header, and despite Naismith seeing red for a second bookable offence in the 85th minute, 4 later Paolo Di Ceglie found himself unmarked to drill home his first since joining from Juventus.

Travis Optimistic following opening ten

Ten games into the season and Joe Travis has his eyes set firmly upwards despite Everton's inconsistent start.

The Toffees have amassed exactly 50% of the points available to them so far, and whilst impressive in a draw at Stamford Bridge and defeating Manchester United, there have also been defeats to Stoke and draws at the Madejski Stadium.

Travis said "To be fair, we've been a bit unfortunate with officials, such as the Spurs game and the Stoke game, but everyone gets these decisions. On the whole the performances have been good, but we have just lacked that clinicality which we evidently found against West Ham."

When asked of the youthful squad Travis seems to be building, he asked for patience adding "Although the present we are not much more than a top half side, fans may have to realise that my plan here isn't short termed, and that over the next 5 years I am hoping to achieve something special, but 5 years cannot happen in 5 minutes."

Of the sales of Fellaini and Baines? "It had to be done, this club is struggling financially, even now, and this had to be done to allow us to thoroughly invest as we did. The players we've brought in are all performing, Particularly Adryan, and the youth weve brought through are more than holding their own when called upon. I'm excited for the future, it's just a shame that the kids couldn't have held of Brighton because we'd have had Blackburn and then Charlton in the quarters, which would have given them some experience of a cup run."
