Roberto Mancini Leaves Manchester City

The footballing world was left in shock this morning as it was announced on Manchester City’s club website that manager Roberto Mancini had resigned. Many Man City fans were upset by the news that the man who guided their team to their first Premier League title in 44 years had departed the club without any specific reason given. As soon as the news broke speculation started as to who would be the next City boss. Jose Mourinho, Pep Guadiola and Roberto di Matteo are among the contenders to take over at the Etihad Stadium.

Danny Brown Named as New City Manager

Man City fans’ shock turned to outrage as just hours after Roberto Mancini leaving the club, completely unknown manager, Danny Brown was named as the new boss. Big names such as Guardilola and Mourinho were rumoured to be the clubs top targets but fans and pundits alike were left astounded by the appointment of the 25-year-old from Manchester, who has no previous experience in management. Speaking in his first ever press conference at the Etihad stadium, Brown said:

“People may claim I am too inexperienced for this job but I know that I can prove them wrong. City are a great club, with world class players and amazing fans. I am confident that I can continue to deliver the success that the club deserves for years to come.”

Note: Welcome to my story with Manchester City. Can I just point out that I've only been playing FM for a year and this is my first attempt at writing a story so I apologize in advance if I make any mistakes.

I plan to post a few updates covering transfers and pre-season and then one or two updates a day featuring significant games and events. I'm currently playing through the season and writing the story as I go along but I'll try to keep my posts as consistent as possible.

I appreciate any feedback, suggestions or questions you might have so feel free to post a reply. Hope you enjoy the story!

Transfers

Alexis Sanchez – £25,000,000 – Barcelona

I needed a player that can play effectively as an inside forward on the right or left and Sanchez fitted the bill perfectly. His main strengths are dribbling, shooting and passing and he will continue to improve with time.

Sandro - £20,000,000 – Tottenham

I felt that after Nigel de Jong left I needed a top notch defensive midfielder to slot in with Yaya Toure in central midfield. Sandro is one of the best tacklers in the game and can play as a defensive mid and a ball winning midfielder.

Dede - £25,000,000 – Vasco

After selling Kolo Toure to Fulham I needed another centre back and Dede looked a great option. He is brilliant both defensively and on the ball and will partner Kompany in the heart of my defence for seasons to come.
£25m for Dede? I think you overspent on him and should have got 17 year old Doria instead as he would cost less.

In hindsight 25 million is a lot for him, but I got him in FM2012 and he was brilliant for me. I might have a look at Doria seeing as Lescott is in his thirties now. With the money City have, I don't overspending is the end of the world.
well you have to think of finances cos that is the most important thing especially on fm 13. anyone who is 3 stars on high wages get rid. and see that £25m for example could have been spent on 3 players instead of 1 player, if you see what i mean :)

Thanks for your help, I'll definitely look to flog off some players and look for bargains in the future. Nice job on your England story too by the way.
Browny, great wins in the preseason as well as the buys. Dede will become in one of the best center backs in the game with Pique and Sandro will be labelled as "One of the World's best" great buys mate. This story looks good so far!
Great start, I will be following :)
Good start mate, keep it up :)
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, it means a lot. Next update will be up later today.
