Community Sheild: Chelsea 1-2 City

Lineup: (4-2-3-1) Hart, Maicon, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy, Toure, Sandro, Silva, Tevez, Nasri, Aguero

Subs: Zabaleta (64), Dzeko (75), Sinclair (85)

Goals: David Silva (13) Samir Nasri (88)

Danny Brown lifted his first ever silverware as Manchester City manager with a win over Chelsea in the Community Shield. City started well and took the lead early on through David Silva who dribbled past three players before slotting the ball home in the 13th minute. It was the other Spaniard, Juan Mata that got the equaliser for Chelsea in the second half but City snatched the win when Samir Nasri smashed the ball home in the 88th minute.

MOTM: Vincent Kompany (City)

Speaking in an post match interview Brown said: "I'm pleased with how the team didn't give up and came home with the trophy. Hopefully it will be the first of many for me here at City."
Good start. Sandro is a machine for me. I'm surprised more people dont try to sign him. May also be worth having a look at Dembele from Spurs as a backup/rotation player.

Premier League: Man City 1-0 Man United

Lineup: (4-2-3-1) Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Nastasic, Clichy, Toure, Sandro, Silva, Tevez Nasri, Dzeko

Subs: Sinclair (71) Aguero (71) Milner (90)

Goals: Sergio Aguero (90+3)

Injured: Samir Nasri (Twisted Ankle, 4 weeks)

Man City started their season in style with a dramatic win over their arch rivals United. Sir Alex Ferguson took to the press to try and demean the City manager before the game but he was left with egg on his face as his side were defeated thanks to a stoppage time winner from Sergio Aguero. The match itself was very close and United could have taken the lead on a few occasions if not for some heroics in goal from Joe Hart. Brown urged his team forward in the dying stages of the match and it payed off as Aguero effortlessly controlled a 40 yard pass and slotted home with only seconds left on the clock.

Yeah, he's been great so far. Rock solid defensively and got the assist for Aguero in the derby, I couldn't ask for more.
Dede, Sandro and Sanchez are brilliant signings!

I love how you're utilizing bbcodes. It's compensating for the lack of images in this story. Basically, a great start so far. But I am a bit skeptical if you are planning on doing match reports for every single match throughout the story - monthly reports would be less troublesome and more post-saving. Just a suggestion, remember, it's your story.

Nice job beating United and Chelsea ;) as a Liverpool fan, couldn't have asked for a better first two matches to read about.

Oh, and by the way...

Everyone would love to sign him - but not everyone plays as Paris Saint-Germain or Manchester City ;)
Thanks! I was going to use images but I had some problems taking screenshots in FM. As for the updates, I only did full match reports as both games were quite significant. In future smaller games will be grouped into one update. Again, thanks for the positive feedback, it really helps.
Ah yeah, I forgot to put in there that for me, it would be best to only do match reports for important games. :D

Premier League: Stoke 0-1 City

Lineup: (3-4-1-2) Hart, Kompany, Nastasic, Lescott, Maicon, Toure, Sandro, Kolarov, Silva, Aguero, Tevez

Subs: Zabaleta, Milner, Sinclair

Goals: Milner (81)

Injured: David Silva (Light Knock, 5-6 days.)

August Review

My first month as manager was a success, seeing us win three out of three. Vincent Kompany was our stand out player, getting Man of the Match in every game. My new signing Sandro has bedded in nicely whereas my other two new faces Dede and Sanchez, are yet to feature due to injuries picked up in pre-season.

September Preview

Looking ahead to September, we have two important games. Liverpool and Juventus away, who we have been drawn with in the Champions League along with Dortmund and Porto. We also have to face Villa, Wigan and Watford in the league cup.
I am loving this story so far :) Could you put in a screenie of the league table every now and then? :P
Thanks, I'm currently at the end of September so I'l include a screenshot for you in the next update.
Great start mate, keep it up :)
Good start mate, I like the layout and design, likes simple but elegant.

Great signings, and some good results. However, I feel you may have cheated. A 1-0 win over United would never happen, because, you know, 15 points clear and that...

But seriously, well done so far, keep it up. :)
Great start :)
Keep it up and win the Champions League ;)
Thanks guys, the positive feedback really helps. September update will be up soon.
Problem. When I try to open up the save an error message pops up saying "the file cannot be loaded". Anyone know how to fix this? If not it looks like I'm going to have to end the story or start over, sorry guys.
