Hahaha I personally love croissants as well. Good result in the cup though

After the goalless draw at Truro, Blue Square Bet South leaders extended their non-winning series to four games. Thought, two of them were in FA Trophy against Blue Square Bet leaders, and they eventually passed to the next round on penalty shootouts.
But the Darts lost four of their last 7 seven league games, winning two and drawing the last one, and can thanks Salisbury similar form, who missed several occasions of taking the first place. The Whites were leading Blue Square Bet South an hour at the start of the month but finally draw with Billericay. Since then, they only won one of their 5 games and the gap with Dartford is of five points.

When did Dartford difficulties began?

Probably in November, at the start of the month Dartford lost their first game in two months (8 wins in a row) against Chelmsford. They reacted with two wins before losing to Boreham Wood 5-0. Since then the results are irregular.


This probably happened because Sonwild has a very tight squad to work with and as he said it so many times, the team is becoming tired. They also have a lot of injuries and this don't help.

Can Dartford deal with this problem and stay at the top?

A lot of important players have been send on holiday by Sonwild. February will probably a very hard month for the Darts with many players unavailable but when they will come back it could be a very exciting end of season for them as the squad will be fresh. They will probably still be challenging for the title and straight promotion.

Easy win for the Darts.

Dartford 4 - 2 Eastleigh (Blue Square Bet South)

An efficient performance from Dartford, without severals important players (Dixion, Medina, Lecuras, Tshepe...), saw them run out 4 - 2 winners over Eastleigh at Princes Park.

Towering striker Richard Pirrie got Dartford off to a flyer by scoring a real poacher's effort on 6 minutes. Young attacking midfielder Dominic Murphy doubled Dartford's lead with a deftly executed finish from close range on 9 minutes.

Knock finished a great team move in the 17th minute to extend the lead further. Eastleigh pulled one back after 23 minutes with a smart diving header from close range by Sam Boorman.

Striker Tom O'Brien then added to the lead with a poorly struck effort from inside the penalty area on 30 minutes.

The sixth and last goal of the game came just after half-time when centre-back Chris Hawthorne manage a fine header from point-blank range.

Man of the Match: Dominic Murphy (Dartford)

Dartford are through to the Fourth Round of the FA Trophy after a 2-1 win over Cambridge at The Abbey Stadium.
The Blue Square Bet South leaders were 1-0 down at half-time but finally managed to dominate their Blue Square Bet Premier opponents, thanks to Sonwild's great coaching and two Jose Carlos goals.

The first half wasn't boring, but all the spectacular play in the second half made it look like it was. The tension was incredibly high and when the game came to an end Sonwild ran across the pitch to celebrate with his goalkeeper who had been surrounded by a small crowd of ecstatic Dartford supporters.
Sonwild's press conference didn't last long. He just sat down, smiled at the journalists and said: "We won the battle and we deserved to." Then he left the room.

Was there really a battle? Yes there was! It came after Cambridge opened the score with Quinton Sylvester punching Spring. The player got a second yellow card for that and many other players got booked. But why did all this happened?
It all began 35 seconds before the goal when O'Neil was creating a counter-attack move for the Darts. The striker was passing the midfield when Sylvester brought him down with a vicious tackle but the referee let the game go on, while several players from Dartford stopped playing to go to the ref to complain, and Cambridge used they superiority to create a great move with Jamie Smith heading into the back of the net from his rebounded shot off the crossbar.
Now all the Dartford players were around M.Wigglesworth (the ref) and they started arguing with their opponents until the punch came. Sylvester's fist hit Spring right on the nose and without any hesitation two Dartford players jumped onto the culprit starting a fight where sadly the fans joined in with pleasure.

After isolating everyone, M.Wigglesworth sent everyone back to the dressing room and there were reports that the game would be cancelled or postponed. But finally the teams were allowed back for the second half and the Darts seemed more determined than ever. Sylvester's tackle was definitively a dangerous one as O'Brien will be out for two weeks and the red card wasn't enough to appease the Darts who wanted to put Cambridge out of the FA Trophy and happily for them this was exactly what they did.

They totally dominated the second half. Two great goals from José Carlos earned them a ticket into the 4th round. For the first goal the Spanish midfielder combined with Murphy to open space in the box and to spin the ball into the goal at the far post. Five minutes later he showed his brilliant touch once again getting past two defenders before placing a super shot from the outside of the box that didn't leave Brown any chance.

The Blue Square Bet South team will celebrate this victory with their fans by organasing a "Croissant Party" at training. It was a promise made by Alex Sonwild after a talk with fans two weeks ago.
