Dartford-Chelmsford

The first game of the month was against Chelmsford, it started like last month. They had a (controversial) penalty and they missed it. This penalty came after Banton pulled a shirt in the box, and Wood hit the woodwork. But it but it was only a matter of minutes before Chelmsford find the back of the net and there were only 10 minutes on the clock when the same and poor Banton scored a own-goal. The Dartford player who received before the game his award for scoring October's Goal of the Month in the last game, scored again but at the wrong end of the pitch this time.
Chelmsford goalkeeper didn't make many saves but the Darts where clearly dominating the first half, and could have scored by the likes of Dixion who find the post on a great header, Lecuras with a free-kick saved on the line by a defender, Reeney hitting the crossbar from outside the box, and Murphy who had beaten his defender but lost his head-to-head with the keeper.
Another reason Alex Sonwild players didn't score is that Chelmsford, unlike most of the teams this season, had a well organized defence who contained well the attacks from the league leaders. The Dartford gaffer decide to bring on Peruvian playmaker Miguel Medina on, ending the game for a nervous Banton. This change allowed Murphy getting in a position he prefer in the axe, and Taïder moving upward.
But Chelmsford didn't change their game plan and could have scored more without great saves from Baxter. The Clarets where impressive, playing with quick and short passes who just confused their opponents. And the players were fully confident, trying and achieving little tricks who made them look as a Barcelona of lower division.
With height minutes left on the clock and still this one goal advantage for Chelmsford, Sonwild decided to go for a overload tactic, bringing on a new striker in the person of O'Brien. Ten minutes earlier the young manager had already brought José Carlos, a attacking midfielder, on the pitch.
The league best attack was putting more and more pressure and at the 84th minute O'Connor did a incredible double save on attempts from Dixion and José Carlos.
The referee indicate three minutes of stoppage time and Chelmsford have the ball. They keep it for two minutes without losing it, just simple passes who annoys more and more the Dartford players, staff and fans. Barlett can't keep is calm and do a stupid tackle. One minute left, Chelmsford have a well free-kick placed.
Cooper put the ball in the box, Medina clear it with his head but it isn't a Dartford player who get it. Mithethwa do a perfect pass to Cooper who can enter in the box and create danger. No! Off-side!
The Darts have a last chance of getting one point from this game. Medina to Moore, he pass one player, two players now. Moore with José Carlos, can he do Spanish magic. José Carlos put the ball in the box and DIXION! RENNEY! MURPHY! No it's finish here at Princes Park. There was a last chance for Dartford with this brilliant pass from José Carlos, Dixion jumped, and headed the ball on to the crossbar. Reeney was at the rebound and fired the ball in the goalkeeper legs. Murphy manage to get a touch on it, but he missed his shoot and put it wide.
It's the first time that Dartford don't score this season. It's also the first time they don't win at home. The Darts stay first of the Blue Square Bet South, nine points ahead of Farnborough who didn't play today. Chelmsford move up one place to 15th. The Man of The Match is
Brian Turner who created the only and own goal from Banton.
