Hopefully we can hit back with 2 wins
Before i announced the squad for the New Zealand game, we got the news that we had dropped one place in the world ranking to 170th. I knew it was time to hit on and come together as a team!
All i could the players was 'Who Are We? Vanuatu' our new motto.
The squad to face New Zealand is as followed:
It was that day! New Zealand at home, it was a sell out crowd. The stadium was bouncing as the game kicked off.
The first half we dominated the whole game. We had 5 shots but none on target we were pushing for that goal. We could do it but the game came to the half time break at the wrong time for us.
In the second half New Zealand came out knowing they need to win, they did take the lead in the 54th minute but the goal didnt stand for a foul on the goalkeeper. in the next 15th minutes New Zealand had another 2 goals disallowed for fouls on the keeper.
The game finished 0-0.
1 point put us in 3rd position in the table, I'm Happy with that.
After the great result against New Zealand we need to back it up with a win against Fiji. I'm starting to know these player and i have choose pretty much the same squad
Before the Fiji game i thought this was a win for us. The first half we dominated, this has been a regular occurrence this year in away games, but we lack the composure to finish away from home.
The second half Fiji came out with a point to prove they passed the ball around us all the half. Scoring in the 48th minute. Despite me trying different tactics, i couldn't get the team to string 3 passes together. The game was out of our grasps
The start of 2013 only saw us with 3 games. 1 Friendly and 2 Qualifiers. I think we can win at Tahiti and maybe get a point from the Solomon Islands at home but New Zealand away will be a massive surprise if we win
With the Tahiti game coming up soon i had to pick a squad, it was pretty much the same as all the other squads.
The First half of the game Tahiti dominated us all over the park, but one lucky counter attack in the 25th minute saw us go 1-0 up, even though we led in the game Tahiti just didn’t want to give up. They got the equalizing goal just before halftime.
The second half saw us get dominated again but we were able to get a few shots away and in the 85 minute we got our second of the game and August-Marango got his second and in the 90th minute we get a penalty. Maki placing into the top corner making it 3-1. Game over surely. But with just 1 minute of added time left Tahiti grabbed a superb goal. We did enough to hold out for a 3-2 victory
Thrilling stuff ahah, nice victory in the end
In the next 2 games, both qualifiers, we came up against Solomon Islands and New Zealand these were both going to be testing challenges for me and the team.
The Squad will be as followed:
Keep it going Fev! Brilliant results except for that Solomon Island thrashing. A team I've never heard of drawing 0-0 against New Zealand must not be a bad team. Keep it up.

We have a few little undiscovered gems in our team :P, youll see in later updates
First of the 2 big games we came up against Solomon Islands, we kicked off and we did even look like a team who wanted to play and in the 13th minute Solomon Islands capitalized on our poor football. This lifted our spirits and within 10 minutes August-Marango got our first of the game. This put spirit in the team and we just attacked and in the 42nd minute a cross hit a Solomon player and trickled over the line, making it 2-1 to us.
The second half was lifeless as we held out for a massive win!
The second of the 2 big games saw us against New Zealand It was impossible to qualify but it would be nice to upset New Zealand on their own patch, we came out with an attacking mentality but we just couldn’t finish and at half time we were 3-0 down from 3 counter attacks.
The second half was no different, we tried to attack but we couldn’t do anything, an own goal saw us go 4-0 down early on in the half. We did pull a goal back in the 57 minute but it would never be enough. New Zealand finished the game scoring another 2 goals making it a 6-1 thrashing. Oh well! On the plus side we did finish 2nd in the table
