Hi there :) Every time i start a new game on fm I tend to be the same team, same transfers, same trophies always big budgets with big players and big wages and it was getting boring so I decided to test my self in the lower leagues to see how good I actually was.
I started with a randomly cpu chosen team in the second season of an existing save and I was chosen Sheffield utd. Great I thought they have a good squad with good facilities,I was expecting an easy ride to the championship oh god how I was wrong.
When I took over the club was 3million in debt which meant no transfer budget, and to add insult to injury all the key players were unhappy with only 3 weeks left on their contracts!
Come the end of the 3 weeks I had 8 squad players! So that's 8 squad players with no transfer money, I really thought about abandoning this project.

First thing I did was search for free transfers the most notable being Lee Boywer, kieron dyer, Floyd Ayite, Fancisco Sandaza,Mikel Alonso, Davide petrucci, ryan flynn and mark howard who all played amazingly for me.

Next was Loan transfers, I signed Jake kean who was a beast in my goal, Frank nouble who finished the season with 49 in 48 appearences! aswell as billy knott and a few others.

The board expected me to win the league and after my first 10 games things were not looking good! I was mid table and my job security did not look good.
After a while the team did hit form and I slowly made my way up to about 6th but crystal palace were raping the league a good 15-20 points ahead of everyone else.
The last third of the season was epic! I went on a mad unbeaten run to move up to second but palace were still way out in front I didn't hold out much hope of catching them. Last few games I managed to close the gap and with one game remaining I had 97 points, palace had 100 I just had to beat the 4th place team and hope palace lost. I won 7-0! and palace lost 2-1 away to rotheram! I did It I won the league 1 (just) and to top it off got manager of the year!

Onwards and upwards. I actually was offered jobs by both everton and sunderland and opted to take the sunderland role, kind of regretting it now wished I'd stayed with sheff utd but here's a list of all my transfers so far with sunderland:

Right Championship here we come!!! Really needed improve the level of the players at the club as most of my key players from league 1 were really old and declining as footballers fast. season started amazing as I won my first 4 games in a row including an away win against hull where i was 2-0 down and won 3-2 with a jay rodrigues goal in the 93rd min! But then my form dropped and went on nasty losing streak which included a league cup exit away to huddersfield 1-0

I'm currently half way through season and sitting pretty in 4th in the championship.

Sheffield utd's surge for promotion continues! Some very dominant attacking displays this season see sheffield utd sitting pretty in 4th with only 4 games to game but can England supremo Ben Salt secure promotion?

Today journalists gathered at a press conference to talk to Ben Salt ahead of Sheffield utd's Championship Playoff Leg 1 vs Leicester city.
"Leicester city have been playing amazing this season with such players as stephan caulker, jason steele, matt phillips and Wilfred Zaha really taking the headlines surely your team don't have a chance? "
"Listen Mudda fucka I can assure you Leicester don't stand a chance!" Ben salt cackled loudly like a madman before storming off.

Leicester City Smash Sheffield utd in Playoff semi final Leg 1!!!

Leicester city took a huge step toward promotion today with a 3-1 home win against promotion rivals Sheffield Utd, in a game which was fairly even for 70 minutes two late surges on the counter sealed the win for the foxes.

Ben Salt was enraged and downhearted at the humbling defeat and their were rumours of him cock slapping his players after the game.

Ben salt sounded somewhat pessimistic ahead of the playoff semifinal second leg and admitted it would be a difficult task to overturn the deficit but every cloud has its silver lining and maybe if promotion is not achieved it gives the sheffield utd manager a chance to fight for the Title next year.

Amazing preseason with 6 out of 7 games only conceding only 1 goal, the best victories were a 2-0 win vs valencia and an 8-0 thrashing of dunfermline.
