Good luck with Malaga :)
2013-04-06 19:38#90341 Justice96 : Good luck with Malaga :)

Thanks mate :)
Slight issue: My save crashed without me saving and corrupted: I had only played 2 friendlies and made no signings so I have just restarted. Sorry guys, but the update will be a bit longer!

Málaga CF: My Report

I think it was always going to be fairly obvious to all of us who was going to be my main man. Isco, the winner of the European Golden Boy (in real life :P ) was going to present me a challenge in trying to keep him due to his £17.5M release clause. Luckily, I have held onto him so far, and I will hope I can all season.

Then, there was the issue of left-back. Due to my limited funds, and lack of expensive players to sell, I only have £875k to spend on transfers at the moment. I made bids for a couple of players, but I'm still looking for a main target.

Also, I have had to deal with the very poor level of coaching. I am looking for a new assistant manager but I still am sticking with my current ass man. My only decent staff are the fitness and goalkeeping coaches. As soon as I pick up more funds I will be aiming for better staff and a new left-back.

Having played the majority of pre-season, I now know where I need to strengthen my squad.

Málaga CF: Transfer News

Ben Davies in action for Swansea

Málaga have today reportedly made an enquiry into the availability of Swansea and Wales left-back Ben Davies. The Welsh international, who has starred during pre-season, has raised the eyebrows of Málaga scouts and indeed their new English manager Joe Dowley.

However, Swansea's asking price of around £8M could provide a stumbling block for the cash-strapped club, with the sales of Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal to Arsenal before Dowley took over providing stability for the club. The ex-Londoner has only been reportedly given £1M to spend, and supposedly sees left-back as the prime area to improve.

With the club trying to raise funds, Dowley has reportedly accepted offers for Spanish winger Cala. Other offers for Spanish midfielders Francisco Portillo and Francisco Jurado are reportedly set to come in.
Perhaps a loan? Recio was great against me and he is great! Camacho must stay at the club no matter what! Don't sell either of those players because they are good! Jurado at the most!

Recio is out on loan already for me, and Julio Baptista is out for 7-8 months with an injury from before I joined :/

Málaga CF: Pre-Season

A fairly poor pre-season saw us play fairly poorly in all the games.

Varese 1-0 Málaga

We didn't really play very bad, Joaquín missed a clear cut chance in the second half, but otherwise they scored a very well rounded team move.

Helmond Sport 0-4 Málaga

A much better performance overall from the whole team, and we even had a goal disallowed and a couple of missed CCC's. We scored all of our goals from crosses or dead ball situations, which looks good for the future.

Varzim 2-2 Málaga

We came from behind twice, but pegged them back two minutes after each of their goals. We had 58% possession and 27 shots during the match. Again both of our goals were from crosses.

Córdoba 0-3 Málaga

Again a fantastic free-kick from Isco and a couple more crosses led to us dominating this game with the majority of the possession.

Málaga CF: The Transfers

I did well to curb my usual spending, but I am not really sure at the moment of my signings. I chose Ferreira after all of my preferred signings for left-back were out of my funding ranges: Ben Davies was valued at £16M by Swansea, and Paulo Ferreira was the cheapest option available. Djimi Traore and Jari Litmanen were mainly to provide some experience for the team.

Málaga CF: August Results

I will agree with all of your first views that the results don't look great, but we were very unlucky in all of the matches. We have had to play most of the month without Jesus Gamez and Dudu.

Celta 3-2 Málaga

We did well to come from two goals down, before they picked up a 3rd goal late on. However, we did miss an 86th minute penalty which led to our defeat. After the poor first half, we turned it around and started playing some good football during the next half.

Málaga 1-3 Dynamo Kyiv

Again we were very unlucky, having been leading 1-0 at half time. They scored 3 late goals of counter attacks, and Paulo Ferreira was the one who let them in each time.

Málaga 0-0 Mallorca

A fairly boring game, nothing much happened at all. Probably a deserved result.

Dynamo Kyiv 1-1 Málaga (Agg. 4-2)

We were 1-0 up leading into the last 20 minutes, but a goal from them led to our momentum disappearing and we crashed out of the Champions League.

Zaragoza 1-0 Málaga

We played very badly, conceding an easy goal, as well as Litmanen missing a penalty. However, again we dominated possession and we just couldn't use it properly.

Here at Sky Sports we bring you news today that new Málaga manager Joe Dowley has reportedly been told to fix up his act or expect punishments from the board. The 25 year old from London has only led The Anchovies to 1 win in 8 competitive games, with the club already having been knocked out of the Champions League at the qualifying round.

Many loyal fans are calling for the board to give the Englishman more time, claiming that he has been very unlucky in almost all of his defeats. It looks as though Dowley's plan of sticking to older, experienced players is not working currently, and the club and fans want him to give youth a chance.

It remains to be seen whether or not Dowley will remain at La Rosaleda for much longer, with a reported rift between a few of the club's youth players and himself.

Málaga CF: September

Málaga 1-1 Levante

We picked up a fairly average point at home to Levante, although I was disappointed that we could only find the net once, and lose our lead. We dominated possession as usual but ended up not using it well.

Anji 1-3 Málaga

A great result away at the Russian spenders: I thought we would pick up a draw at most, but ended up winning with some great goals. We decided to play on the counter the whole game, and ended up having an 100% shots on target ratio.

Athletic Bilbao 3-2 Málaga

It's clear that we have goals in us, scoring in almost every game this season, but once again we lost our lead. However, we had been predicted to be thrashed, we picked up two goals. The losing of our leads seems to be a growing problem at the moment.

Málaga 1-2 Betis

We again lost our lead at home, meaning that I am still looking for a win in the league. I have chopped and changed tactics now between all my familiar ones, but nothing seems to work at the moment.

Tough results :/!
I know, just can't win :/

Málaga CF: October

Málaga 0-0 København

A very dirty, scrappy game, with myself picking up 6 yellow cards. There was just a lack of chances, even though I had the majority of possession.

Osasuna 3-1 Málaga

The game was over very quickly: three early goals with ours in the middle led to our deflation, and they saw the game out fairly easily without much challenge from us.

Málaga 3-0 Valladolid

We finally picked up our first win, beating the team who were 5th at the time. it was a great performance and we dominated throughout, making it very easy for us.

Málaga 0-3 Sporting CP

A very poor match after our first win, with Demichelis picking up a straight red giving away a penalty. They scored 3 before half-time and the game was dead.

Espanyol 0-2 Málaga

A good performance away, with Fernandez picking up both goals. It was a solid performance, with us dominating possession.

C.D. Atlético Baleares 2-3 Málaga

A scare for us in the first leg, with us also having a straight red early on. All of the goals were scored all in the first half hour, and it was a close scare. However, we have picked up three away goals and should see it through in the second leg.
