Morientes' Monaco are Record Breakers!

http://i47.tinypic.com/28a2uys.png

Fernando Morientes' Monaco has broken a French record for consecutive games won, winning 8 in a row during September and October. Breaking the record hasn't come as a shock as Monaco are the favourites for the Ligue 2 title and boast a very strong side.

Morientes had this to say - "It's great to break this record. We have been playing well, scoring goals, defending well and Renan has been superb in goal. The entire team has played a role in this record breaking run. Let's hope there is plenty more to come from the lads".

November and December went well for Monaco during those months we saw Monaco extend their unbeaten league run to 15 games but that is where it ended. Will Hughes scored his first two goals for the club in the win over Nirot which had manager Morientes jumping with delight. Against lower league side Moulin Morientes decided to play a second string side. Hazard scored a 25 yard wonder goal to kick start the game but that proved to be the only Monaco goal of the night but Moulin scored twice. A horror loss in the cup for the Monaco boss who took all the blame. The final game of the two months came against Le Mans, which Monaco lost, in the process ending their unbeaten streak in the League.

Sorry there was no league table on this update. I stupidly forgot to screenshot it at the end of the month and have since played on.
Great job with that unbeaten run mate! Hope you can extend it till the end of the season? ;)

Two In

AS Monaco in the last couple of days have tied up two players on pre-conracts, Manuel Lanzini and Karim Aït-Fana, both of whom will join up with Monaco in the summer. Aït-Fana was a player Monaco were interested in signing in the previous summer transfer window but decided the position he plays was not one that needed immediate strengthening but with Emir Bajrami returning to his parent club at the end of the season signing Aït-Fana on a free was a no brainer for manager Morientes.

The other player Manuel Lanzini, nicknamed La Joya (The Jewell), is an Argentine attacking midfielder who can, if needed, play on either flank. This signing is seen as on for the future and he will re-join former River Plate team mate Lucas Ocampos in Monaco.

Will Hughes opened up the month with the first Monaco goal of 2013, against 2nd placed Laval which proved to be the winner, a great result for Monaco. The month was a short one with just 3 games but with two wins and a draw it was yet another good month for Monaco. With Medjani and more importantly Kone out, both representing their nations at the African Cup of Nations, this will feel like an even better set of results for Monaco.

February and March Review

Monaco started of the month with a well deserved victory over Arles-Avignon. The game showed Monaco’s attacking prowess with all 4 goals coming from 4 different scorers. Unfotunately a loss to 2nd place Le Harve followed, Monaco will have to hope it isn’t the difference come the end of the season. Another poor result followed, losing to Dijon, a very disappointing result for Monaco. Monaco bounced back from those two defeats with a 2-0 victory over a rather poor Lens side.

Monaco went unbeaten for the month of March but in unspectacular fashion drawing two of their four games. It took a late goal against Gazelec to win and two quick fire goals in the last 20 mintues against Nantes to turn what looked to be a loss into a win.

Great results!

There's quite a few updates to come as I have played up until the first game of the second season. Gonna put the game playing on hold until I have churned out all of the updates.
You messed up the page, makes it kinda hard to read :(

I know, I wasn't sure how to fix it and the images I have used I have since deleted from my computer. What can I do?
Thanks to Akash who sorted the issue for me. :)

April started off poorly with a 2-0 loss against Niort which must have been disappointing considering they are so close to automatic promotion. If they won that game all they would have needed was a win against Auxerre to gain promotion. Monaco did get a win vs. Auxerre which meant that Monaco would gain promotion with a win against Clermont… which they did

Following their promotion Monaco continued on course for the title with a win over Sedan. The win against Caen meant that Monaco were crowned Ligue 2 Champions. They finished out the season in unspectacular fashion playing youngsters in both the final 2 games.

Champions!
